As the title says remove aim assist. I feel it's to strong and needs a nerf.

Shameless bump. Overwatch figured it out. I'm done with D2 until this gets sorted. Watch how many top players suddenly don't do so well if they ever remove it.

I am KBM user and often in PvP i find my vision blocked by muzzle fire or some explosives, i can imagine that aimbot users has crosshair 100% of time still on me no matter what graphic effects there are between us. Aimbot damage output should be reduced by 30% in PvP, this should stop people from buying controller just to get a cheat enabled in the game.
-
sign! This is frustrating as hell. I stopped playing pvp because of that...
-
Bungie if you could give us a definite answere to this that would be awesome* personally my thought is remove aim assist altogether it will help catch cheaters cause they cant say "it was the aim assist" just please remove or disable for the PC version and tell us. :)
-
Either they remove aim assist alltogether (for pvp at least) or we can configure mouse and keyb as a controller (aka a xim) and get both benefits. Very easy to do on pc. Aim assist has no place on pc. It's the equivalent of letting people plugin a mouse and keyb on console with full support. There is no way to balance it.

1 ReplyRemove aim assist period doesn't need to be in a shooter game just like the radar system in PVP doesn't need to be there how can you call that hardcore skilled based when everyone scared to move once they see the radar flash red.. as long they cater to the less skilled community then this will always be an issue.... This generation love hand holding An games playing them selves with them have to do miminuim effort to actually learning the game.

2 RepliesEdited by gibzy: 9/20/2017 8:26:44 AM1. Aim assist is far from enough to compensate for freedom and speed of movement that MKB allow for. 2. FPS games are unplayable on controller without aim-assist. 3. Saying that XIM + aim-assist is broken - well duh, it's cheating, obviously it provides an advantage. How about doing something to prevent that cheating, instead of just making the game unplayable on controller? Do you cut off your whole fingers when you need your nails clipped? 4. Destiny is primarily a PvE game, and if it wants to go the esports route - the first thing should be dedicated servers, NOT aim-assist discussions. 5. For the reason above, I feel a nice middle-ground would be disabling aim-assist in PvP. The people who are super into that mode will not be playing on controllers anyway - it's too much of a disadvantage. 6. If you remove aim-assist from PC altogether - you'll lose players. Not a huge amount obviously, but enough to notice. Let people play as is comfortable for them.

1 ReplyEdited by Daishi: 9/5/2017 3:31:41 PMHey its Bungies own fault for pre-killing their game on PC. PC is all about competitive play. You leave Aim assist and your game dies due to having no competitive playability. I for one will be plugging my keyboard and mouse into my xim4 and benefiting from Bungies built in aim bot haxs. If they have it available for some people, and not the other, how is it fair that I'm not allowed to use it? Plus if you are using a controller on PC, you aren't really concerned with playing competitively anyway, why do oyu get special treatment?
-
1 ReplyI'm sure aim assist will be removed entirely on PC. Aim assist + KB = practically cheating.
Overwatch had aim assist in the beta and got removed for the same reason i believe?
As the title says remove aim assist. I feel it's to strong and needs a nerf.
Why is aim assist even on PC in the first place?
-
Aim assist should be removed entirely from gaming world, yes even from consoles. A good player will always kill his target, while a shity player will always be a shity player.
-
I agree with this. The PC is no place for aim assist.
-
I totally agree, it needs to go. Im thinking about refunding my pre-order and buy it again when I know they patch it. Everyone is playing with handgun now with controller, on pc... The aim assist with controller is currently so strong that you shoot close to an enemy and it locks to him.. Even with blink you still get shot..
-
13 RepliesYes please, do what OW does for PC version, just no aim assist period. If you were using a controller on the PC you weren't concerned with being competitive anyways.
-
22 RepliesEdited by Regulator152: 8/29/2017 10:17:48 PMLiterally though, the whole aim assist on pc makes me lose my head, like, cut it out completely and utterly. I stopped with the crucible once I figured out this shit, it's ridiculous in every way. Most of the pc gamers are coming from CSGO, PUBG, battlefield... places where AA is non-existent it should absolutely not be in the pc version in any way shape or form. Leave it on the consoles. Period.
-
15 RepliesA great example of how out of touch Bungie seems to be with PC Gamers. It needs disabled - it's a legitimate cheat in our eyes.
-
Aim assist should absolutely be removed. In a shooter, the skill comes from you doing the work, not overly-large hitboxes and aim assist. People just need to stop. Once there's a method in-game to activate it, you can be sure it'll be used with keyboard and mouse for "best of both worlds".
-
13 RepliesWhat I don't understand is why people are defending AA on pc. Okay so you want to play with a controller on pc for some odd reason... but why do you think having AA is fair? If you want to play on an even playing field with a controller go play console... but even then the amount of aim assist isn't evening the playing field. If I plug up my controller I'll do better because I just ads near them and fire. None of it because my skill or aim it's because this aimbot the devs gave me. But sure defend controllers guess I'll buy a XIM4 and play on console cause its fair right? Cause I should be able to use whatever I want on whatever platform I want right?
-
1 ReplyPretty damn fun watching PvP dweebs getting their collective jimmies rustled over this.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Rukhal: 8/30/2017 7:54:28 PMLeave the assist in, controllers aren't even worth using without it. I play with mouse and keyboard and even I understand that. Just make sure XIM4 doesn't work.
-
14 RepliesNo add more. More aim assist so people playing on controllers have equal opportunities. I congratulate bungie on being a leading light in the industry on this matter, who said PC was for keyboards and mice? Some idiot. Controllers are how games are meant to be played. A key board is for typing and mice are for eating cheese. Well done bungie equal opportunities for all!
-
Uhm no there's only aim assist on controllers.
-
I can't believe the complaining.... how about you enjoy the fact the title was brought to the PC platform.

There needs to be aim assist to make control pad a viable option. Stop whining
