Additionally, pre-orders for the sequel have eclipsed those of the first game, although no specific figures or further comparisons were offered. I guess you will have to take their word for it.....what ever that's worth

2 RepliesI'd be more interested to see how many hours every hater on these forums has played D2 on Sept 7th. I got my money on that the majority of these whinnies on these forums hating on D2 and/or "Cancelling their pre order" will be the same ones that are bragging " I've been play D2 since the beta" at the end of D2. Why are you going to continue to troll, argue with the community, and continue to constantly post on a forum for a game you're done with? When I gave up on ESOL I never logged on to any forums, and the game was traded in. Done.

Edited by Darklighter108: 8/4/2017 4:39:41 PMeven if I believed this, and even if D2 was a spectacular AAA 10/10 title without the vast problems and controversy, all this comes down to is "yay, another win for a piss poor business practice that shouldn't exist in 2017 gaming" Pre-ordering is trash, left over from back when if you didn't pre order, you didn't get the game, and there was no second reprint.

9 RepliesTo anyone who is doubting this report you are showing your ignorance. Have you heard of the companies Enron or AIG. Look them up because they dont exist anymore. Thats what happens when you falsify SEC regulated documents to shareholders. If they are reporting these numbers then they are accurate. And in most cases are understating the figures to be cautious. Its highly illegal to falsify any SEC report to both consumers and sharholders. This isnt speculation its the law.

In the same sentence, Activision announced the D2 beta population was larger than the D1 beta population [i]on consoles[/i]. Then Activision said "and" pre-orders are higher. You might have noticed they didn't say consoles. That's because pre-orders are not higher on consoles. They are higher over-all because of PC pre-orders. For all we know, PC pre-orders are spectacular. Because PC pre-orders are digital only through Blizzard's store, only Activision has PC pre-order numbers. Anyway, to sum this up, console pre-orders for D2 are trailing D1 and it looks like this game is only growing because of the PC release. [spoiler]Neither Activision nor Bungie will release actual beta population numbers. For all we know, they are one player higher than D1. They are certainly lower than the beta population of competing games like The Division.[/spoiler]

1 ReplySo we lost a fight but didn't lose the war. More importantly if you enjoy video games, if you call yourself a gamer out of obsession or hobby Do not pre order. Games have taken a turn for the worse, every direction that almost every studio has taken in the past couple years screams "we just want your money and have no pride in our work", argue that to your hearts content, still it's true. Stop pre ordering.
