You put up a good fight, but Activision announced that D2's preorders outnumber those of D1.

You act like we are the ones who lose when you spend your money without knowing what or how much content will be available outside of what was in the beta and preorder benefits. That sure showed us.
-
You're talking to a console crowd, they are never not going to preorder. PC is your best bet on that front, and even they fail at it. You should have seen the modern warfare 2 "boycott" lol. Same goes here, hell double it.

8 RepliesThat is funny 😂 "Let's all teach bungie a lesson, don't pre order! Rebel! Together as people who play video games for a hobby, we can beat large corporations and force them to do what we say!" Looks like y'all did a fantastic job protesting. Destiny is fixed. Y'all really made a difference. Now you can go join the other idiots blocking traffic somewhere.
Because that fixes things too
143 RepliesThe sad thing is you think the anti preorder crowd lost. They didn't, the gaming community did, and still are doing. What does an anti preorderer lose in this situation?? Nothing. Or "the argument" if you want to be that petty. They don't want to win any arguments, they want the community to wise up and demand respect. What does the community lose by winning the "argument"? Buying power and respect. No one won here except greedy, hype train driving developers, and their shareholders. Give yourself a pat on the back, you just made some rich folk even richer 👍 I have no problem with people earning good money for providing a good service, there is no jealousy driving this. I just also believe you should earn that good money and I don't believe in blindly giving money to anyone and "hoping" I get an ok deal. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll just leave it here.. "a fool and his money are easily parted.."

2 RepliesI find it odd the D1 was surpassed considering it had PS3 PS4 XBox360 and XBone
-
2 RepliesBecause I can trust a single sentence from a company infamous for doing nothing g but lieing. I'm going to have to see some hard numbers from a neutral party before I can claim that statement as anywhere near true.
-
1 Reply*clears throat* Where did you come from, Where did you go?
-
13 RepliesThe argument that gamers lose because it means the developer doesn't have to do anything because they have your money is stupid. People who preorder a game are going to buy that game anyway. They want to make sure they get their copy at the store. They want to predownload so they can play right at launch. These are things they are going to do anyway. If you aren't preordering, usually it means you don't want the game or you are waiting to see what it's like first. Which is FINE. But not preordering to prove a point is just dumb in my opinion. At this point in the development, it isn't going to drastically change the way the game plays. It isn't going to stick it to Bungie. They will adjust the game based on feedback of the player base, not the people who don't actually play the game. Why would you take the advice of someone who isn't your consumer?
-
6 Replies3 questions: 1) What did they lose? 2) Does the Pro-Preorder Crowd win anything 3) How do I know which of these groups I belong to?
-
1 ReplyI would disagree but I still preordered myself I don't think they lost I think they just made themselves look like idiots
-
Bless your cotton socks.
-
The anti-pre-order crowd ALWAYS loses. Unless a game comes out and keeps pushing back their release date, rarely do people cancel pre-orders.
-
Any specific numbers? That's awfully vague. I trust Activision about as far as I can throw them
-
1 ReplyI sense a disturbance in the force.
-
3 RepliesWe didn't lost, gaming as a whole did
-
I've preordered over 15 games I never purchased. Usually because I was 2 broke.
-
Don't they always lose?
-
Sorry to break it to you but everyone who uses these forums is actually on the same team. We all liked or loved D1 at some point in time, and for our own reasons and in our own way, and we all hoped D2 would be an improvement, and each of us had our own vision of what D2 should be. Once you pre-order you are handing over the reigns and saying "I'm sold" and you are basically relinquishing your voice. Even though you can still come on here and voice an opinion, Bungie only cares about a number. Once a certain % of us preorder, it doesn't matter what kind of back-and-forth arguments or discussions we have on here about the nuances of D2, they just want to hit a magic number in pre-orders then nobody has a voice after that. Zero (0) pre-orders = Bungie says oh shit, releases a lot more details about the game, actually explains how it's better to generate more hype, and actually makes the changes the player base asks for Low % of pre-orders = let's do a little better Huge % of pre-orders (the magic #) = Bungie does whatever the hell they want, and that's where we are now By not pre-ordering people are just telling Bungie they aren't 100% sold yet, that it doesn't feel as improved as it should after 3 years of a 10 year plan, and it's not what they envisioned, even though it may be everything you dreamed of. There isn't an anti-preorder army fighting you on these forums.
-
7 RepliesYeah, I'll believe Activision. I mean, they wouldn't lie in a business right? Business people are honest hard working people.
-
Only losers when it comes to pre orders is the gamers People who pre order only give developers more reason to give you less
-
23 RepliesEverybody lost. Bungie was right about a bunch of idiots throwing money at the screen. They can sell whatever shit falls out of their asses and plenty of people will buy it. No need to make a good product.
-
Cancelled my pre-order awhile back and after playing the beta I feel I made the right call. All I see is a poor expansion. Not a new game worth the cost. I'll wait until a later time to see if it's worth picking up at a reduced price.
-
8 RepliesThere was a time when games would just come out and people would have to advertise to get you to buy them. Now they get you hyped with some trailers and sell you beta access (which used to be free) so they can get their money up front. People even pay full price for an unfinished game and buy the other missing parts later in the form of dlc. Only gamers are dumb enough to fall for this tactic to get extra money out of its consumers. Call it what you want but I would never buy pre-oder or fall for the dlc trap. The problem is they got people chasing the dragon...and they are using your friends to pressure you into making stupid decisions.

28 RepliesEdited by CarnivalLaw: 8/5/2017 1:39:28 PMHave fun. It won't last long. Edit: And, it's worth noting, that: 1. D2 pre-order numbers are consistently way below pre-orders for other upcoming games (see VGChartz), and 2. Activision simply said that pre-order numbers exceed the D1 numbers, but didn't report the actual numbers. Hmm. Feel free not to think too hard about that.
-
But they don't subtract cancelled pre-orders like mine. Game only runs at 30fps.
-
Apparently there's already over a million preorders for pc alone.
