Let me give you my opinion. It is similar to what a different person also said in this thread, with some tweaks.
The largest issue I have with the new weapon system is its not the same system I've been using and enjoying for 3 years, and I do not like the idea of spending the next 3 years using only a primary. It's a boring and slow concept no matter how you look at it. There's no way you see 2 primaries as being more fun than a primary and special.
Now another point. I bought Destiny and put around 3000 hours of game time into for one reason, and one reason only. No, ur wasn't because it was fun, or at least not directly. No, it wasn't because of friends or memories I made along the way, or at least not directly. I put as much game time into Destiny as I did simply because it was like no game that I've ever played before. It was unique and fresh and orginal. When I think D1, I think supers and jumps and invisibility and decent grenades and a whole bunch of other stuff that all combines into one thought: I'm a god damn mothafukin' space wizard. That is what BNG sold me on, and that's what I got.
But Destiny 2 is on the horizon. And from everything I've seen and played, I've come to the conclusion that though it is called Destiny 2, it is not the sequel to Destiny. It took everything that was unique and fresh and space wizardly about it, and either got rid of it completely or locked it behind absurdly long cooldowns or other such systems, including but not limited to the new weapon system. Will it be an enjoyable game? Most likely, yes. I hope and expect it to be. Will it be a sequel to Destiny 1? Hell to the no. Because Destiny 2 is nothing like Destiny 1. It's just another Halo, where it's fun for a while, until you actually sit back and compare it to other games, and realize how terribly bland it is.
Now, don't get confused. I will still be getting D2. I'm a clan leader with a good number of active players in it, not to mention all of my personal friends who will be getting it. Plus, as hopeless as the gameplay appears, the story (while over used and cliche) does have my attention. And while I talk good game about D1, it is by no way a perfect game. Anyone who knows me on these forums can vouch that I've had plenty of bad things to say about D1 and it's current direction (AKA, down). All I'm saying is, D1 has countless major faults, but now that I have played D2, I realize I didn't know just how good I had it until it was less than 2 months away from being gone.
See you all in D2.

Help me go flawless please.

Not entirely sure what that has to do with my post...? #TitanMasterRace
-
if HALO was bland, it would not have been the number 1 fps game for over 10 yrs.
-
It was also basically the only FPS game for 10 years. But if you compare even the most modern Halo game, which would be Halo 5, with pretty much any modern FPS game, it is incredibly bland. Halo built the FPS industry, true. But that doesn't mean Halo games aren't bland. #TitanMasterRace
-
No, it was not the only FPS game. Counterstrike, COD, Battlefield, etc etc... And it still remained Number 1. Not bland at all. I don't count Halo 5. lol but I haven't played it, so I cannot speak for 5.
-
I said basically the only FPS game, and I should have been more clear. I should've said "basically the only online FPS game". Not even CoD was an online game when Halo was big. #TitanMasterRace

Sure, basically. Still doesn't change a thing. #HumanMasterRace

Consider using capitalization to separate your words. It makes it easier for other people to read what you are trying to hashtag. For example: #TitanMasterRace
-
Does it need to be easier to read for you, Titan?
-
It doesn't need to be for anyone. Unless the person in question has dyslexia. However, it's a common courtesy as it makes it easier to read. And honestly, it just looks better. #TitanMasterRace

Like how Hunters look better than Titans or...? I'm still not understanding Titans being a race.
-
I don't deny that Hunters look far more badass than Titans. Or at least in D1 they do. #TitanMasterRace

My only counter to your statements would be it fails to acknowledge that certain "secondary weapons" from D1 are now considered "primary weapons" in D2. Effectively some people are refusing to acknowledge that the new system is NOT 2 primary, it is in fact: Kinetic Energy Power There are specifically 2 weapons that WERE secondary that are now POWER (fusion rifle if you count the linear variantas 3rd) But sidearms and smg's are now available in both kinetic & energy slots (aka now also considered primary weapons). As far as fact and logic is concerned, D2 system creates more combinations (aka variety) than D1 system could. I understand some people not liking it, and I respect your opinion on it overall...just wanted to point out it's a tad misleading, and inaccurate to say:
I do not like the idea of spending the next 3 years using only a primary.
Don't mean to be nitpicky, but Titan is a Class. Awoken, Exo, and Human are races. Just Saying.... Try this next time : #WarlockMasterClass or #myHunterClassIsBetterThanYourTitanClass lol

Ice been doing this for nearly 3 years. Believe me, you are not the first to tell me that. #TitanMasterRace

Well written, and wholeheartedly agree. Destiny's originality is what drew me in and kept me. I'll probably get D2, I'm just not excited about it. I used to get super hyped for DLC drops... that beta just lacked.. something. The new storyline is fine, but I really don't get the need to blow up the old weapon structure. The crucible is pretty balanced now, except for ability and super spam... well, that and special ammo was not fixed properly.

I think Bungie realizes that the tuning of the beta landed with a wet splat. I expect to see a very different game tuning for the release version.

Agreed

Same exact feelings bro
