After all that was promised and what was delivered for things like Destiny and Division I'm quite cynical of what they promise to deliver.
Never trust a highly scripted "gameplay" show.

I think with the success of Destiny (sales wise), there will be more devs building their games around that model. Eventually one of them will get it right. Will it be Anthem? Will it be Destiny 2?, or will some other dev jump into the fray? Only time will tell. Untill then, Anthem will just be another game that they will start the hype train rolling just to get interest. Since it's not suppose to come out till the end of next year, it's not even something I'm excited about. I'm not falling for these marketing tactics they use.

1 ReplyIt could be good. Early impressions look to me like its gonna feel slow and clunky, but might have a good, open, explorable world.
-
1 ReplyThere isn't that much known about it, just wait and see. Bioware's track record lately has been more miss than hit.
-
Best to wait and see what it will actually roll out.
-
Crowbcat's Ubisoft downgrades video has forever tarnished my opinions of E3 reveals.
-
1 ReplyThat's good. It shows that you can be mature and realistic while simultaneously being hopeful. That shows more depth than most, who are either total cynics or pure fanboys.
-
6 RepliesYou should be skeptical. We haven't seen gameplay yet.

Edited by What I Look Like: 7/23/2017 1:50:22 PMEh, it'll be good. Destiny turned out to be entirely different than what I thought pretty much, I had no info going in though. I still liked it. Either way I've got my go to's no matter what. If I need a huge game that constantly looks spectacular, Witcher 3.

Edited by sorinoscreens99: 7/23/2017 10:36:20 AMIt seems eerily similar to the destiny 1 reveal and we all know what happened to that
-
I'm skeptical. There is more gameplay and what not to come, I will wait and see reviews to see if its worth my time.
-
3 RepliesSkepticism is very important nowadays. I take everything I hear with a large spoon full of salt.
-
After playing the d2 beta even superman 64 could blow that game out of the water
-
The gameplay looked pretty great, but then again this was an E3 build. Anything can go wrong gameplay wise, and we don't know much story wise, but if the original good Bioware is writing it (the guys who wrote KOTOR, the Mass Effect Trilogy, and etc) it has a high chance of having a good story. Skeptical as well, hoping it's good though.
-
11 RepliesI hear its having a lot of issues like destinies base game. People quitting, and getting cut from the team... Déjà vu. Forget that not going for it again.
-
2 RepliesHard to get excited over a game I saw for 2 minutes. Skeptical yes but overall looks good. The credit here comes from the original team that created the Mass Effect games (1-3). Those games were phenomenal and are perminently in the top 3 out of my top ten games of all time. So long as THAT Bioware is making Anthem I can rest easy knowing it will never totally suck.
-
1 ReplyThat cringey gamer talk from the gameplay was unbearable
-
4 RepliesSomeone has to take the place of destiny pve
-
4 RepliesLooks too good to be true
-
I hope it's good. Not hyping it or raising my expectations of it (of any game from now on).
-
I'm in the same boat. Developers like to talk a big game to drum up sales, and some high profile games in the last few years failed to reach lofty expectations. Hope in one hand, and shit in the other I guess.
-
Everyone would be better off forgetting that Anthem exists until it is nearly out.
-
Edited by blade329: 7/21/2017 2:53:42 PMYou have to be skeptical these days. No Man's Sky taught us that game companies can be dirty rotten liars at times. I'm definitely not getting my hopes up with Anthem. Damn, that trailer looks awesome though. Battle suits, straight out of Iron Man comics, that can fly and go underwater? I love that premise.
-
The "gameplay" show is just like when they advertise a big screen movie....show you all the good parts on the trailer and when you see it, the rest of the movie sucks! Video games are starting to follow this marketing trend latley. Getting to the point where I don't trust what any company says about their game. I find better reviews of games on this very forum (#gaming) then any company trailer or gaming article.
-
Skepticism and excitement are good. Don't just hate blindly or fanboy over any game.
-
Yeah there's no way it will be as open or big as they are trying to lead the hypemongers to believe. I believe that it will be good but no game did what Destiny has accomplished at launch, including Destiny. Players will have a lot less patience with it than Destiny because they will always know that they have its competitor, which is well weathered in the genre, to go back to if they feel it doesn't meet standards. We'll just have to wait and see. We still have another year.

I'm not really excited at all. The gunplay looked like your everyday average third person shooter.
