It's high time we travel outside our solar system. The Cabal attack is the perfect open door. We could go on the offensive and attack their home world.
Edit: in response to the people out there who responded against the idea with epic level forum troll sarcasm, it's an idea for the future, not a knee jerk retaliation to the Cabal attack. Hell, it doesn't even need to be about the Cabal attack. Just saying it could be a reason why we could.
The traveler could send us out through a wormhole it creates in order to find something it needs to restore itself after we reclaim it from the Cabal. Drop us into a distant part of the universe to obtain fragments of a previous traveler that are being misused by other races for their own power. Or even introduce space vehicles and mine an asteroid field for minerals and fight off other races from attacking us while doing so.

I remember when Destiny hadn't released yet, and I had read articles talking about how big the game was. It was so big that even Bungie were not sure how big it actually was. Then my friend and I get the game and upon seeing the activity director for the first time were surprised that there were only four locations on it. We figured that this was just phase one and that once we cleared the content on it that it would expand to the outer reaches of our solar system and eventually beyond our solar system. Then we defeated the heart of the black garden, got the stranger's rifle and were thinking "That's it???" So yeah, let's see what's beyond our borders. Show us that game that was so big not even the developers could accurately measure it.

6 RepliesAnyone else remember the last great guardian offensive against an unknown enemy force? Hint: it was called the Great Disaster.
-
3 RepliesYes, outside our solar system when the light doesn't touch anything, where we are at are weakest most vulnerable states. Completely amazing idea.
-
1 ReplyTake a lesson from Mass Effect: Andromeda. Traveling beyond the solar system is not really such a hot idea.
-
No one knows where the Cabal homeworld is located. Not to mention Ghaul is NOT the leader of the Cabal.
-
How about we actually get them out of our solar system first?
-
4 RepliesThat seems quite out of character, haven't we only really defended ourselves and protected ourselves from direct threats? To invade the cabal empire seems out of character for a guardian.
-
honestly I think we could go anywhere as long as we nerf The Last Word.
That would be out of this world
-
Hey cabal are attacking! Let's just abandon our entire galaxy!
Good idea but wouldn't make sense since we are supposed to defend people from the hive, cabal etc.
1 ReplyI know what you are saying that it could be possible and really interesting to venture out of our own solar system but at the same time there are plenty of places we could still visit before venturing out such as: Callisto Europa Ganymede Eris Pluto Triton Titania Rhea Iapetus Dione Umbriel Ariel Oberon Iapetus Charon Haumea Makemake Ceres Vesta Enceladus Tethys Miranda (Essentially all moons within the galaxy) Each of these locations could have vastly different environments which could keep things interesting for the time being! Not to mention it kind of makes sense to explore places closer to our Homeworld before venturing out elsewhere...

5 RepliesI feel like the Cabal attacking our home world is going to make us defend our own system harder. When the U.S. got bombed in Pearl Harbor, the army didn't say "This is the perfect time to attack the Japanese mainland!"
-
1 ReplyThey'll probably have us go through a vex portal at some point and it'll act like a wormhole to andromeda
-
2 RepliesDo you want Oryx and taken back? Because this is how you get them back
-
No, we very much aren't. Even pre-D2 we can barely make it to the reef and dreadnought. We aren't even close to being able to leave the solar system, and we are even further from being at a point where it would be an intelligent strategic decision.
-
1 ReplyWe haven't even explored Earth yet.

1 ReplyEdited by Starwolf444: 6/5/2017 7:30:00 PMI agree with you but I am upset Mercury wasn't added as a playable world.
Cabal destroyed it in D2 right?
-
Im not, thats a long way away.
-
2 RepliesI'm ready to see where the Iron Lords chill now! Hopefully we will be able to visit
-
5 Repliesim pretty sure the only planet outside the solar system in D2 is io
-
Don't mean to let you down, cause it upsets me too, but I don't feel like we'll be going out of our solar system till Destiny 3.. Also with that, Bungie does have a 10 year contract for Destiny, which means D3 may be a 4 year thing or if the franchise is still bringing in money, that contract could always be extended, look at Halo. There's a lot of possibilities and new things the Destiny universe can bring to the franchise as long as Bungie/Activision learned from D1, they could really make this into a long running franchise.

Got to get there first
-
4 RepliesSo Aloy can hunt down and kill a mecha T-Rex with a bow and sling shot but we can't repel a cabal invasion with advanced weapons, shielding, and super abilities that make the force look like a parlor trick?

When the sun explodes

I'm ready to travel in you
-
No, we will be at our weakest ever. We gotta reclaim what we lost and get humanity back on its feet.
-
Yeah would be cool if we saw some new planets and enemies. Same ole boring aliens.
