pvp. pvp and its community ruined this game.
edit
the pvp community is aids.
the comments from the pvp community in this is basically the word of god himself
but mostly your mum.
pure
edit 2: after reading through replies i have found out that pvp players are brain dead. just like the cod and csgo community. the only pvp game without and absolutely aids community is overwatch and even that can be aids.
what I'm trying to say is that people who play destiny for pvp exclusively can be an actual std to this game. destiny is a pve game and im sick and tired of the guns I use being nerfed because everyone and their mother who just lost a game of trials will go on the forums and complain about a gun that killed them or a subclass. you need to stop complaining and just except the fact that your trash. go back to call of duty and complain that your friend didn't revive you even though you have a ray gun.
the pvp community is a mess. x

edit 3: 1st of all this does not deserve to be trending lol
2nd dont criticize me for not using capitalization, im typing with a keyboard
3rd i still love destiny...
but i hate pvp and its community
yes i know it's bungie who makes the nerfs happen, although they wouldn't have to if the pvp (mostly trials players with high elos) who cry out for a nerf every time they die.
i don't think crucible shouldn't be a thing, because it's something to do if you don't like doing strikes and shit. but it needs to be handled differently (and maybe just have a second -blam!-ing holocaust, where the victims are the pvp community)
TL;DR
pvp good bro but needs to be handled differently by bungie, and its community is a disease.
<3
edit 4: no clue why people are saying that im whining in this post. im just stating that the pvp community made this game bad. the pvp community is basically the -blam!-ing zika virus.
edit 5: after reading more replies ive come to the conclusion that destiny elite pvp athletes are intellectually better than me or you. they are the smartest people on this planet and might even be the second coming of christ. please say thank you to a pro crucible player for making this planet a better player for us, the minority.
edit 6: im done responding to retards with serious responses, im just going to reply with unfunny 2010 memes.
edit 7: somebody reported me lol so i can't reply to any of you intellectuals out there any more.

The constant cause and effect of whining leading to weapon and class nerfs is what truly ruined the game.
-
Not at all, it's was the poor balancing of the developers.

I'm gonna go with, post like these for the win! 🕹

It's like this because of the "play to win" type of attitude that people have in the game. The game is being forced into a competitive aspect which is there, but isn't executed properly. Mainly because of the actual primaries feel underpowered, people will resort to anything that speeds up the ttk; abilities, special, camping, etc. This divides us into the ones that can adapt and the inept group of individuals that can differentiate between annoying and broken. So this leads us to complain and/or use the same tactic in order to "compete" against others. Then changes are made. With the recent changes since the release of rise of iron, the game has going down even further than what is what before.

The vast majority of nerfs come from the PvP side of Destiny, but you can't stop there. You've gotta dig deeper than that. It's my belief that the continuous weapon balancing issue stems mostly from the fact that there are just too many archetypes of weapons in the game. If there were only low/medium/high rate of fire weapons then balancing would be a cakewalk. That would also open up the potential for more weapon types themselves. Having the Hung Jury archetype, the Hawksaw archetype, I would need both hands to count how many archetypes of snipers and sidearms there are. It just overcomplicates the process. Also, who's bright idea was it to deviate from the basic rule of the higher the impact the better the range? (I'm looking at you, handcannons.)

Destiny was marketed as a shared world shooter with PVP, not PVP with a shared world shooter. Instead of keeping PVE and PVP separate, Bungle decided to favor PVP at the expense of PVE thus alienating many players who bought the game for PVE.

3 RepliesSo, you think the nerfs have ruined PvE? I don't think so. I do just fine.

47 RepliesEdited by Boobel: 3/24/2017 8:48:13 AMThere wasn't a singular thing that ruined the original Destiny experience. It was a culmination of multiple errors. Year 1 was good. Like if you played the alpha, and the beta, and year 1, you are aware of the reason for the anger that fills the forum now. A lot of folk may dismiss this, but if you did it, you know. You had a nightfall that when you were launching in, you were a tad nervous. Because you knew you could spend an hour or so trying, just to lose it all very fast, and be booted to orbit. The sense of achievement when you completed it was excellent. The rewards were good too. You would run the raid, and be ecstatic to receive the VOC. Then, you do Atheon over, and over, and eventually, the Vex Mythoclast dropped. And the grind just is SO worth it. You'd relive the moment with destiny pals when they saw you had it. Year 1 felt relevant. There was an end game gun we chased. We felt rewarded. We saw parts of the cosmodrome that were locked away. DLC. But already on the disc. Then year 2 arrived. And it started to feel like the best parts of the game were slowly being removed. We were told by Bungie that we were playing the game wrong. They had perks on guns, and when we used them effectively, all within the realms of the game, we were told we were using them wrong. Then we started to feel the affects of nerfing. Guns which we had worked so hard to get, became useless. The variety of weapons available was still big, but nerfs forced players to use very few. auto rifles started to fade, our game was being directed by the requests of the supplementary PvP aspect of the game. Updates came that meant previous content we paid for, was made useless. Game modes that are supposed to encourage team work in pve were forgotten. You aren't allowed raid matchmaking but, we shall matchmake you a pvp session with 11 people from all over the world resulting in a terrible experience. We won't matchmake nightfall, because you might get someone who is bad. That's better than no matchmaking right. Then, we got told previous gen was holding back vault space. Then, luke Smith tells us we are playing his game wrong, but we're going to throw money at the screen anyway. And there's way more to kingsfall. 0,4% auto rifle. What's VOG again? Who is Crota? Trials further toxicated the game. Bungie based game updates on trials. YouTube streamers. The community was ignored. The game grew towards trials, bungie pandered to this, pve got a few more stabs in the back. Lag switching. Bungie didn't seem fussed. We became iron Lords, and we were happy for a bit. That mountaintop. That raid. But it fizzled. More nerfs. Friends list didn't show Destiny as much. The last gen vault space limitations seemed a lie. It didn't increase when last gen wasn't included. Shotguns. Matador. Heavy ammo. Special ammo. Then Age of Triumph. Bungie thank us for participating in a 3 year beta, and begrudgingly make year 1 relevant again with some new year 2, but on their terms. Oh you want elemental fatebringer? Thats fine, but it'll take an exotic slot instead. Destiny was failed a lot on petty little stuff, stuff that folk meddled with, that was in reality, doing ok. And there wasn't more to kingsfall. If Destiny 2 can avoid the blindingly obvious mistakes that happened over the last 3 years, they could have a fantastic game in the making. EDIT. I woke to notifications about this post, and I half expected to have been trolled etc. The fact people agree with me, just further makes me hopeful D2 will be a more complete experience, as if we all feel what I expressed, the developers will be aware of this.
