This update proves one thing...
The sandbox team buff and nerf things in such bulk that it messes up the status quo of how crucible works.
I never agreed with others when they said incremental weapons tuning needed to be a thing, but after this stream. I agree 100%.
What I personally believe this sandbox team need to do are nerf/buff things incrementally, so we can be the testers, because if you watched the stream, you could see how awful they play. They are terrible at their own game so you can't be surprised that they destroy the balance when they themselves are incapable of playing competitively.
Thoughts?

54 RepliesBy reducing the fire rate on high rof pulses, they essentially removed that class of weapon completely. Sure, they'll still be there, but in name only. They'll fire at about the rate of hawksaw, but still have their old damage. As if thats not enough, they're reducing the mag size to the point that you can't have any lag, or missed shots to kill. I farmed Omnigul for 1625 registered kills (by grimoire) for my Grasp. I spent over 1000 strange coins, and 900 motes leveling FWC for my Waltz. F U Bungie. The nerf to shotguns, special ammo, and hungering blade were also un-necessary. I can understand the nerf to the stormcaller melee to an extent, but that's all they had going for them. Instead of giving them a buff in another area to compensate, you nerfed their super as well. Juggernaut was easily countered, but hell, nerf that too, because why not? All we needed was an across the board buff on primaries. The new meta will be NLB, Invective, Icebreaker. Boring! Your sandbox team is as clueless as they are thumbless. You're nerfing things because they're used. Did it ever occur to you we use them because they were not only effective, but fun? Stop nerfing fun! TL/DR: Bungie, you suck!

6 RepliesThey just need to set EVERY weapon/class/archetype back to when it was the meta and let everyone just use what they want. The problem with this game is that every meta created is perceived as having no good counter. You take that problem away when you make EVERY SINGLE gun meta good and put them on what is essentially an even playing field. People complain about seeing the same guns over and over and over again, but this is going to be true REGARDLESS of what the meta is. So long as there is a rotating meta, the meta will eventually be identified, and the cookie cutter crowd will soon be running around with the same guns everyone else is running around with, and then you will get mass complaints about seeing the same guns over and over again. It happens EVERY TIME. If every single gun is meta-good, then there is no advantage to staying married to the same weapon combo, whether it be TLW/1K Stare, Clever Dragon/Matador, Thorn/Felwinters, or whatever else the meta has been. You will see a lot more variety in the weapons people are choosing to use, and we can all move on with our lives. We might have to accept faster kill times, but that is fine with me. This game isn't Halo, and the times to kill don't need to be halo-esque. Destiny is its own brand. So I don't know why they're trying to copy something else.

46 Replieslol at all the newbs and scrubs cheering victory as if this will somehow make them good players. You're still gonna get outgunned, out maneuvered. The only reason you got -blam!- by special is because good players are trying to pile up kills. Now that you have to 1v1 them with a primary your lack of gunskill, awareness and aim are gonna become even more evident. It'll make you drop the game for good realizing that after all the nerfs you cried for didn't improve your gameplay and that you really do suck. Unfortunately I won't have the privilege of destroying you as I'm done with this game but many will still crush your hopes and dreams. Many of you will then quit and this game will then officially die. Hopefully they create a good d2 and I will enjoy destroying you there too. Like I did in halo and every other shooter I've played you in. Peace.

5 RepliesI just wasted an hour on watching the 1st stream... Shotguns are ruined he was like now you gotta aim with it he was at tree on bannerfall they were standing across from on each sides of the grass with rangefinder, took his shield off. Then on asylum the only kills I seen with one someone was literally camping on the door frame to get the kills. 15 ft away orso it'll half health. These guys are -blam!-in monkeys. Anyways time to waste another 40 mins on the other past broadcast. I don't use stormcaller but I would say they butchered that super did anyone see how fast that super bar depleted and it seemed the range of the supers lightning was shorter as well. On the note my beloved bladedancer got its Hungering blade nerfed health only recovers now because the developer once upon a time shot at one and he died to it. Does this guy even play public crucible, I mean like do you even Sunbreaker? Dying with special ammo loses it, ridiculous they all kept dying trying to load there gun, losing there special again. I'm sickened, guess I'll just start running my hawksaw and wormwood/trespasser for the next patch. Anyways that one guy better read this forum who supposedly reads reddit and bungie.net every 3 hours better get the general consensus that people are unpleased.

The thing it proved to me is that I will continue to play other games. So many great ones out there right now, and more are coming within the next 2 weeks. I keep waiting for a reason to come back, but I see the only reason to even give it a chance again will be when Destiny 2 comes out.

The first step bungie need to take is actually giving a shit. They don't care about destiny. Activision themselves said that over 70% of Bungie are actually working on Destiny 2. U would have one he'll of a lot more respect for them if they just said they aren't really focusing on this game anymore.

I believe you should wait and see and these posts suggesting the game is going to suck because of the update are unfounded and ignorant. Play it first, then start the whining all over again at least.

How about reward those who use actually equip different weapons and seldom-used archetypes? Scale end-of-game rewards inversely to the popularity of the gear used: A) Meta abusers receive reduced chances for end-of-match loot B) Meta busters receive increased chances Hypothetically: accumulating a majority of kills with the most-used meta weapon would net you -say- .33 reward points per kill; whereas, those who bust the meta with -say- low-impact HCs or similarly seldom-used guns would garner 1.33 reward points per kill. The numbers are arbitrary, but the idea would give incentive for the community to self police the usage of weapons. Not everyone cares about rewards, some do -- it would give some balance without just reassigning the meta as BUNGIE seems to do so often.
