Bladedancer needs some attention

Let me get this out of the way, im a Sunbreaker Titan main, so before anyone starts saying im just biased, well keep in mind im a Titan. Ok let's get into it, so I was running trials this week, went flawless (on Titan) Then decided, "you know what ? Let me get my Hunter" and so I did. A few matches into it and that's when I started noticing, how unreliable the bladedancer is, ok so hold on, you must be thinking " whaaat ? There a really good class bruh, stop complaining and get gud" well, your partially right. With it's quick draw and powerful (Might I say op) skip grenades, they are a force to be reckoned with, but that's not all that makes the class, there's so much more. Let's start with the super, arc blade is literally the only super that is only effective if your in someone's face, it's very limited to it's range unlike every other super in the game, so why is it so easy to shut down ? armor ? Dmg resistance ? No, I believe the key is in the mobility. The bladedancer is a class of finesse and swiftness, without mobility it's useless, therefore let me give you my thoughts on what I think NEEDS to happen so that the bladedancer subclass can be a more reliable subclass. Let's start with grenades, arc bolt grenade needs a dmg buff, it currently does 91 dmg, increasing the dmg to 105 and slightly increasing the seeking of the bolt (how long it takes to get you) will bring it up in line with some of the other grenades, this will also create variety, not making every blade Hunter feel as though they need to run skips. Speaking of skip grenades, they need a slight decrease in dmg, 120 should be max dmg, not 150, the tracking time needs to be decreased by at least 2.5 seconds, but in exchange the skips will chase you a little faster, that way there not useless after nurfed. Flux grenade needs a slight dmg buff as well, it should be similar to a fusion grenade. Now on to some perks of the class, starting with showstopper, showstopper needs a significant dmg buff, it should deal at least 340 dmg not 243, and it should have a little more range as well, razor's edge needs the same treatment as it only deals 213 dmg, it should at least do 270 dmg with a slightly wider wave. Moving on to the super, as fast as you can blade on ground is how fast you should be able to blade in air. A capped swing lock in air is what makes the arc blade so unreliable as is. Increasing the super duration by 4 seconds would also greatly benefit the class, IMO it doesn't last as long compared to the other roaming supers, so this would help alot, last thing, slightly increasing the speed regen on hungering blade, and increasing agility while in super, all this taken into account and I think the bladedancer would be right where it needs to be. Btw to all my Titan and warlock brothers and sisters out there, don't worry, I got a post coming dedicated for yal too :)

  • The problem with the video wasn't about bladedancer needing a buff, rather fixing broken phsyics where someone gets launched when they get swiped.

    • Flux Grenade and all stickies need a rework. They're all kind of stupid. Anyway, as a Bladedancer main I kind of agree. Really, Arc Blade needs an agility increase. If Stormtrance (the "god of lightning" themed super) gets one, then Arc Blade (the agility and Assassin-like themed Super) needs one too. Otherwise, Stormtrance does everything Arc Blade does and more. Arc Blade also needs a PvP damage buff. It lives or dies on its one-shot nature. Hammers should one-shot a Bladedancer at mortar-fire range, and Arc Blade SLASH attacks should one-shot Sunbreakers up close. Stormtrance should beat Arc Blade at medium range, and should lose at close range. But we all know Bungie won't do this, even though it affirms the combat role of every subclass.

      • They need to remove the sound when you activate the super. No point having a power that can turn you invisible only to ring a -blam!-ing bell to tell everyone your going all stabby stabby.

      • Wow I love how since it's a Titan saying something about it people are actually not freaking out and going crazy on him. People are just disagreeing politely. If it was a hunter to say this and he said it in the exact same way this Titan is, people would be going apeshit on him. This is the destiny community. What a wonderful place it is.       • I used to main a bladedancer, I loved it but the super just never seemed to do ANYTHING and the fact that a Titan can just skate away from you was annoying as hell.

        The [b]Razor's Edge[/b] perk for Bladedancer's Arcblade should be changed into a long range projectile-type ability similar to Bolt-Caster's Sword of Thunder ability rather than that short-range Arc wave on the ground, or grant a defense-debuff effect to enemies damaged by Arcblade. They could perhaps make improvements to the melee abilities as well. The [b]Backstab[/b] perk should teleport you behind, or on the opposite side of your opponent, when you use Blink Strike instead of dealing more damage when you attack from behind. That would offer more utility, and consistency, than the current version of Backstab, and offers a quick escape slightly more useful than Escape Artist. [b]Fast Twitch[/b] could possibly grant a passive melee speed increase, even when Blink Strike isn't charged, or have you automatically follow up with a second, uncharged melee hit after a Blink Strike hit. [b] Fleet Footed[/b] should grant a significant movement speed increase during Arcblade, similar to the speed increase Sunsinger gains during Radiance with the Heart of Praxic Fire. As for [b]Skip Grenades[/b], it would be interesting for them to be redesigned into something similar to the bouncing Grenades from the Fallen Skiffs and Pikes, and have the Shinobu's Vow provide improvements--and an additional Grenade charge--to that instead.

          • I agree with most of it. But good luck getting in this game anything fixed to the better. Especially with each class hating on each other and self entitled kids on this forum who grew up thinking they're special. Cozmo mained a hunter (maybe still does...) but do you see any serious improvement?

            • Thing that drives me nuts is that they nerfed blade dancer because apparently swinging at nothing is apparently abusing it the ability so they made the super decrease faster when you do that!!! Why??!??!?!?!? You get no sprint boost while in blade dancer! It stupid! Plus it takes two hits to kill a sunbreaker and one hammer to kill a blade dancer?! Plus sunbreaker last longer. Storm trance last like 4 times longer. Albeit the super has less armour than blade dancer but it's range while in the super is 3x as long as blade dancer. Plus you know they can flipping teleport. And just so everyone knows, skip grenades actually aren't that fantastic with out the opportunity gauntlets

              • I agree with most of what you say but my fear is that they will pay attention to the vocal outcry regarding Shinobu/Skip and disregard the buffs for the rest. If they only nerf, think I'd put BD back on the back-burner.

                  As a Striker Titan main since day 1, I feel like Bladedancer had it's time to shine in year 1, with crazy Arcbolt, broken backstab and quickdraw as a subclass perk. Even now, skip grenades with Shinobu's are the most OP grenade in the game and all the sweaties and content creators agree it is broken. Bladedancer is fine where it is. Edit: I can argue this all day. The truth is on my side and those trying to argue with me are just reaching for straws.

                  • Any buff to Bladedancer should have nerfs to it's Skipanic grenade, blink, invisibility, and health regen on super kills. Without nerfing those, you just make a top tier pvp class better.

                      • You should get 0 blink cool down and an extra jump in blade and way more agility. Don't buff stickys ever. Make razors edge have more range. Give blade the 55% resistance the the sun bros had. Shinobus should not improve skip just grant two. I main blade and voidwalker. [spoiler]you said nurf lel[/spoiler]

                            Your first mistake was not playing Gunslinger. That was you being punished for it. Edit; OT: Buff =/= Bug Fixing. The words "buff" and "nerf" are so frequently used in the wrong context.

                          • The biggest problem with Bladedancer right now is closing. Bladedancer can be shut down a bit too easily and just outran. The only real tweaks it needs is a significant boost to movement on activation and remove the blink cool down on just the super. All grenades could use a work over.

                              • Arc blade definitely needs something, and blink strike has less range than standard hunter melee which is frustrating. Basically as a blade dancer I either feel OP as all hell or completely worthless and honestly that might be entirely on me.
