The Dawning has been a creative event that has brought nice vibe to the game with the reintroduction SRL and some aesthetically pleasing armor pieces. But this event falls short of an ideal update the exact same way that every live event to date has. It does not include any weapons. This is something I feel needs to be discussed as a community to let Bungie know that the MOST important aspect of this game is gunplay. Not armor, not shaders, not emblems, not emotes, not sparrows. I fully appreciate when the updates include new ways to play with new game modes, strikes, etc. But this is a shooting game, not a fashion show. Please Bungie include weapons in the Crimson Days update, and in other future live events.
Ice Breaker, Abbadon, and Nova Mortis DO NOT count as new weapons. The fact that every exotic in the game isn't available at max light already is ridiculous. And we know that Abbadon and Nova Mortis were created before the Taken King and weren't released until 16 months after we saw them in the trailer....
Zen Meteor - Only available to part of the player base.
Edit: Let's not stray away from the point being made here people. This post is not a hate post towards cosmetic armor, but rather to ask Bungie to include holiday/event themed weapons in future live events.
Edit #2: Well I guess it's official now. The community has decided that Destiny is a FPFS, First Person Fashion Show. But can we at least add some sexy snowy guns to our sexy snowy armor?
Edit #3: Shameless plug for that Kamehameha emote. I know you love DBZ Cosmo.....

1 ReplyEdited by EARWAK3R: 12/22/2016 6:44:39 PMYou know like we have random limited use weapons, canons, hive swords etc in game. On holidays they should just add in some crazy limited time weapons for the duration of the event. You could be in a raid, strike or patrol or whatever, and canons drop from ultras that fire solar snowballs or other goofy xmas themed shit. Pumpkin launchers, or nades that turn ultras into a toad on halloween etc. Make them all super op but totally ridiculous to use. That way aswell as grinding holiday boxes for loot, we can also go steamroll the raid with ease for even more loot with absolutely anybody, even those not too great at raiding. Just go in and goof off with seasonal weapons for a few weeks.

Fashion over Function I always say!

It's a social app, with a latent RPG/FPS incompetently implemented in the background.

5 RepliesDestiny is not your typical shooter like CoD and Halo. It's a FPS with an MMO style back bone. Being that it heavenly leans towards being an MMO means cosmetic items are a big part of it. Besides all shooters have cosmetic items now. Destiny just has more of them and more focus on them because it's also an RPG. If you want to do nothing but shoot guns go play Battlefeild 3. I think that was the last shooter to not have cosmetic items.

2 RepliesYou must be new to Destiny. Did you all a sudden forget that we were supossed to have Destiny 2 already but it got delayed so they had to create Rise of Iron and anything new in it within a year? Sure, there aren't going to be TONS AND TONS of new weapons, but be thankful we got some kind of content to tie us over. Ungrateful children these days.

5 RepliesYou forgot the jade rabbit.

Edited by lietenantdan: 12/21/2016 8:50:05 PMIf you use exactly the right combination of armor, weapons, shader, emblem, ghost, ship, sparrow, artifact, ornaments, and class item enemies will be so shocked at how good you look they'll be rendered unable to fire their weapons. In crucible, once an enemy sees you, they'll lower their weapons as if they haven't fired it for a while, and be unable to raise it until you're out of view. In PVE, everyone, including ultras and raid bosses, will just stare at you in awe.

Destiny IMHO is the most fashion forward FPS out there. Such great looking weapons, armors, shades, emblems. It just makes the whole experience alot more fun.

6 RepliesKamehameha emote is a thing? Also, fashion over function. I gotta look good to play good.

3 RepliesThese live events are crafted mostly by the live team. They draw up some schmancy new armors and decorations that look nice. If they had to introduce new weapons, balance them into the game, and make it so they were attainable through means that made them rare but not through microtransactions (because this community would burn), the events would require much more development that is most likely going into Destiny 2 right now.
