Why is There Heavy in Rumble?

The title says it all. Only 2 people can get it, and they dominate the game until it runs out. It gives them an unfair advantage. I can understand Heavy in regular pvp as everyone in the game can get it. But it really should be taken out of Rumble.

  • Actually, it used to be whoever killed the heavy user gets to pick up that heavy: therefore anyone could steal it. However, they got rid of that half way through year 1 because people weren't good enough to kill them

  • Why can you pick up the rocket launcher in halo?

  • Because it's easy to take down.

  • Nothings wrong with heavy. If anything just make it one spot not two

  • I detest heavy in nearly every mode but 6v6s. It always feels less like "fight for heavy" and more like "hope your team will push for it" or "hope I spawn near it". I don't understand people who like it for the fact that losing players can catch up. That's basically saying that a worse player got lucky and took heavy out from underneath a better player and can now possibly win because of it. I've only played a handful of rumbles and I could imagine the frustration of being a good player dying repeatedly to machine guns from lesser players.

  • Because it is a "rubber band" mechanism. A way for players who are trailing in a match to shift the momentum, and catch up. But it also gives someone who's established control a means of finishing off their oppoents, and the match. Its there for everyone to fight for, and potentially control. Nothing really "unfair" about it.

  • I think I know the answer. I'm not saying if I agree or disagree but I believe this is the reason it's there. 6 people in Rumble, about half way through there'll be 2 people doing really well and 2-4 about 600 points behind. The heavy is to keep whoever is below 2nd interested enough to see out the entire match, knowing that; 1) could pinch heavy and catch up/win 2) the games gone on long enough by then that they don't quit because if they stay they'll get potentially a decent legendary at the end. I think that's why it stays. I get what you're saying though. If you're the guy that's bossing it, then get wrecked during heavy phase and lose it hurts!

  • Because there is a bounty for it. Other than that yeah it's stupid. At least make it like year one. If you killed someone that had heavy ammo you could take it from them.
