Cozmo I would love to see trials of osiris switch up the game modes from week to week. Elimination week after week has gotten boring. I think this would breathe new life into trials and would see a surge of people back playing again! Clash, skirmish control, salvage, etc.
Iron banner is a monthly pvp event in which players receive specific gear and loot, it currently has alternating game modes from month to month. It did not start out that way though! If I remember correctly it was always control. So what's so different about Trials of Osiris. It's a weekly pvp event where players receive specific gear, loot etc. I would love to see rotating 3v3 game modes in Trials. Elimination gets old and boring week after week! So what's the community think. Sure there are a few minor changes with scoring that would need to be implemented such as negative points for suicides in game modes such as skirmish, but these are easy fixes.
I wanna know what everyone out there thinks or how the community feels about this? ( please remember this is a discussion forum about the topic above, not a place to attack others)

1 Replyor make trials truly a tournament , with modifers that must be followed, or hell ffa trials of osiris

1 ReplyFirstly, this got way too much negative feedback but overall it's mostly right. Making a larger game mode requires making larger teams. It's hard enough finding a good team now but just imagine how picky people will be if you had to make a bigger team

Terrible

Bad idea.

Iron banner is a monthly event that players receive special gear and weapons. It rotates game modes on a monthly basis between Clash control Rift and Supremacy. Trials of Osiris is a weekly event that players receive special gear and weapons. Players don't always agree with the particular game mode for iron Banner but most people still play it regardless of what it is

2 RepliesClash and control no. Thing is with elimination is that only the best win. Other game modes just wouldn't work. Take skirmish for example. One team just sits and waits for easy kills whilst the other team captures.
-
7 RepliesHmm don't really like this idea tbh , that's what iron banner is for

Da heck? Who is this guy.

I appreciate all those who have had some meaningful discussions relating to the topic. Just to clear things up I'm only suggesting that the game modes alternate from week to week, NOT the number of players( 3V3) would stay. No 6v6 trials, that's crazy.
-
4 RepliesI would be up for changing modes mostly because I'm terrible at elimination but feel like I can contribute something to the team in other modes. It would definitely be nice to be able to get some higher tier rewards from the other game modes.
-
4 Repliescuz if it was skirmish then it would be get 1 kill then start killing yourself till end of match...

1 ReplyBUMP FOR CREATIVITY!!!! I like it

Anything to break up the sniper/shotty/HC/PR meta I'm down for.

10 RepliesIt needs a change.

13 RepliesWhy does Trials of Osiris always have to be fireteams. Why cant we have a freelance option every week aswell? Everybody seems to think theyre gods in a fireteam but have trials be 1v1 & see how good you really are.
-
14 Repliesclash: just throw bodies at each other, no tactics or teamwork. skirmish: just camp until heavy and/or supers, OR just get a small lead and then wait for time. control: first to get B gets to spawn-camp! salvage: see, this one has merit, coordination goes a long way in salvage.

9 RepliesEdited by GrundleBeans: 12/3/2016 1:20:45 AMThe whole point of it is that it is in fact an elimination. A "gauntlet" of facing more difficult enemies as you progress to see which team emerges victor. If it were Clash, you'd have teams of 6 winning and the problem of solos vs fireteams. You'd also have some players pulling down the team. Doesn't take coordination either. Hardly a test of skill and performance. Salvage is one of the least desirable modes and both it and Control are objective-based modes, not personal or team performance-based as Trials is meant to be about.

Edited by bilbo t baginzz: 12/3/2016 3:09:04 AMSkirmish control? What a horrible idea, games are super slow when theres 4 v 4 lobbies let alone a 3 v 3. Salvage is such a trash game type... it shouldnt even be in normal rotation. Trials doesnt need a change... You need a game change. Destiny is 2 year old going on 3. Move on if you arent happy... im sure you have got your moneys worth out of it.

2 RepliesEdited by Golden: 12/3/2016 3:16:31 AMI love trials as it is but when you go flawless, you should be able to choose rewards, you earned them. Honestly, I get the greaves at 5 wins and open the damn chest only to get the greaves again?

2 RepliesSkirmish is a better gamemode and deserves some time to be the endgame of PvP. But how would scoring work? Elimination's scoring is very simple and can't be abused. Imagine all the complaints when salvage/skirmish is Trials: "opponents suicided for the last 5 minutes of the game so we couldn't score" "lost because they got 50 extra points for killing the person in first place" "salvage scoring is still broken" etc etc etc. I'd really like it, but they'd need to rework the scoring for it to even be considered.

9 RepliesI dont think it woukd do as well. I think the addittion or inferno and bigger maps was a good way to step out of the box

19 RepliesEdited by Kone19ps: 12/2/2016 7:44:43 PMBecause even a non cqc map makes players cry. Take away radar they have an aneurysm
-
Because elimination was created for Trials. The other end game pvp rotates game modes.

1 ReplyTrials this week is 6 on 6 at Skyshock. Invisible death walls will be turned off
-
7 RepliesThe way Trials is set up only favors elimination style play with the rounds and what not. I don't want it to change at all, but if it has to, I'd prefer something like CTF or S&D variant to anything already in game. Something like Clash or Control just doesn't work with the round-based game.
