I just really hope grunts and spectres continue to play a big role in the multiplayer combat.

cannon fodder is a big role? You would have to actively try to get killed by them and let them fire upon you for about 6 seconds.

But their presence kept the game from being too slow and made being stealthy more challenging. It kept people from camping (or at least aroused suspicion when you see a grunt shooting at a corner) and made people appear on the radar more often since shooting at them would reveal your position. They also made the battles feel bigger altogether.

There was plenty of camping in TF. O.o Like the only "pro" of the specters IMO was using the burn card that made you become one. Running around as a specter with a pack of hacked specters fighting with you was fun.

Compared to other games I've played, I'd say Titanfall had very little camping. But I agree, I loved hacking spectres and running around with an army of them.

It was hard to camp in titanfall because all it took to beat a camper was stims and the auto pistol
