Grasp of Malok is not overpowered. Here is why. The grasp of Malok is a pulse rifle. Pulse rifle intended design was to be optimal for medium range and useable by someone with better thumbs then all you complainers at close and longer ranges. The only reason you think it's overpowered is because everyone has one. Not one person put up a post before omnigul was the nightfall saying it was overpowered. NOT ONE -blam!-ING PERSON. You people are about literally ruin one of the rarest guns in the game because your ass has shitty gun skills. Please shut the -blam!- up. And GIT GUD.
Edit: Yes I know it's now rare now, but before this week it was completely rare to see

8 RepliesIt's the easiest thing to try for a god roll on or at least a damn good roll so ppl will farm the hell out of it to try get that edge in PvP. It will be nerfed and then the community will move onto the next best PvP gun. It's been this was since day one and it'll be this way till the end of destiny.
-
Grasp is totally overrated... But due to usage it will get hit around by Nefrgie a couple of times
-
It's overused though which means it will get nerfed eventually. I don't agree it should either. It's just been the destiny way.
-
I agree that it not over powered but it is currently being overused. And we all know what happens with bungie see us overusing something.
-
Yes it is but got to love flinching up snipers at scout rifle range and getting kills. Hopscotch reverse nerf incoming will make impact higher and fire rate slower. Fun to use as love pulse rifles. I grinded for it prior to nf and had one drop okay rolls but cb/pb like a chain gun. Anyone saying balanced is disillusioned. Tried mida after 2 days to get weekly scout bounties and seemed clumsy and slow.....whilst getting smashed by grasp.
-
1 ReplyIt has too much impact for its archtype. It's easily 1 of the most overpowered guns in the crucible right now. Not to mention having little to no damage dropoff at all.
-
1 ReplyYes it is, and it's gonna get nerf back too its original form
-
All Im saying is that it out shines everything you could call long range in a trials map. Not mida or some scout rifles but at that range people are crutching with sniper rifles. So yea its pretty strong
-
1 ReplyDon't worry my Spare Change will one burst fools with Grasp of Malok
-
5 Replies3 burst to head What else takes 3 burst to head? High Impact (not max impact) pulse rifles What has a faster fire rate? Grasp What's the point of using a med-high Pulse? NONE
-
Not Op just overused at the moment
-
Its not op my pulse rifle on my titan take s it out
-
I don't think it's op I use my suros on my warlock, I think THATS overpowered and needs to be looked at.

3 RepliesEdited by PedalOnTheRight: 6/20/2016 8:02:17 PMjust FYI for anyone trying to farm it and thinks they need all hunters or even 2 hunters I've farmed it with some groups this weekend and pretty much any combo works for farming, yes a hunter with celestial nighthawk makes it easier but one group I was in used -hunter with nighthawk -hunter with regular golden gun -warlock with stormtrance no problems killing her off before she makes a run for it up the hill I used various heavies but Super Good Advice was a blast to use keep talking up GOM - takes the attention away from Aegis of the Reef ;-P

RIP Hopscotch Pilgrim
-
Too bad Bungie nerfs based on popularity and not effectiveness.
-
Mida wasn't Op. Guess what. They decided to nerf it. Grasp is getting a nerf trust me. I don't want it to get nerfed. It has never bothered me.
-
2 RepliesIt's just because it's such a user friendly weapon.

2 RepliesEdited by loudenkl: 6/20/2016 9:20:21 PM
Grasp of Malok is NOT overpowered
The same was said about MIDA and we all know what happen to it. All I say is don't get too attached to your Grasp, because sooner or later there is going be enough 'crying' on the forums that will warrant either the entire class of Pulse that Grasp is a part of or the Grasp itself to get Bungie's weapon balance treatment..
-
1 ReplyOversoul edict is exactly the same, it has slated on the crucible since dark below released. I've never seen a post asking it to be nerfed. It's only happening now because a lot of people are using the same gun. So they think it's over powered. It's not.
-
People need new things to complain about since the doctrine was nerfed. Bad players are never happy until nothing can kill them
-
2 RepliesOK let's just say it's not over powered. It's just a powerful gun. Having a powerful gun is OK of course. But now let's give this powerful gun to everyone. Sadly, since bungie clearly doesn't know what balance is, when the majority of the community uses one type of powerful gun it's labeled as op. Clearly the problem isn't that grasp is op but that the other guns just suck
-
3 RepliesI'm sure if other RoF pulses were viable it'd be a rare sighting seeing a grasp
-
4 RepliesBungie says if too many people use it, regardless of op or not, they will nerf it. You can only play the way they tell you to play.
-
5 RepliesEdited by Luckdog26: 6/21/2016 2:11:48 AMSo your argument as to why it isn't overpowered, is because before Omniguls nightfall, no one said that. Lol. So dumb. I guarantee people have always said that GoM was overpowered, but the number of complaints has risen concurrently with the number of people using it. I'll tell you one thing that is guaranteed though. GoM will get nerfed in the future, thanks to the proliferation of it in Crucible.

1 ReplyI got one with rangefinder/brace frame/army of one. I love it. Like it better than the cb/pb/army of one. Grouping is smaller on the brace frame roll.
