It hasn't even been five years... Them "remastering" it is a complete cash grab to get countless people to fork up another $60 for the game they already played. Remasters are getting on my nerves lately, dev's could spend that time and resource on new ideas but instead rehash their older creations to suck up some more money. Especially a game that's not even that old. Sure it could have mod support in terms of consoles. If you really want to spend $60 to be able to have mods on a game you already played to death before that's great for you and all. But I find it absurd. And aggravating that not only is this suddenly acceptable but so many people want it. Now, oblivion or morrowind would be alright to remaster, they're old enough that I wouldn't see it as a cash grab. But Skyrim? The game was already over rated as it is. It was a good game. But not the best rpg ever or even close as so many people say it is.
Rant done.

1 ReplyThey didn't even have the decency to release on the anniversary

I see it as Bethesda's cash grab in case their next game does bad. Fallout 4 had a meh rep so they probably fear bad sales. I'm pretty sure they are making a new ES and staying away from fallout for a while
-
We don't we want oblivion. But sky rim will get more £$¥€
-
People asked for it. They delivered. Not everyone holds the same opinion as you. They will want what they want. I'm neutral btw. I may actually pick it up, but I really wouldnt have cared if they never did it. The whole "My fun is better than your fun" logic is stupid. *shrug*
-
2 RepliesLet Bethesda take their time. If they do, they can learn from previous mistakes. This time if they don't rush, they can make an almost perfect elder scrolls.
-
I want it because I never bought the dlc. And I got the original game for free. So I can't complain.
-
1 Replylast gen sucks. thats why. skyrim is special, and absolutely worth upgrading to superior tech. in fact, i hope they remaster the remaster in 5-10 years for virtual reality. it'll be worth every penny. i hope they spend a lot of time on character models.
-
2 RepliesDidn't Bethesda tweet that if you already own Skyrim and all DLC it would give you the remaster for free? Or did I misread that...
-
4 RepliesThere is no general accepted time for a game to exist before it can be considered "okay" for remaster fodder. You either like the practice or don't. And the only people who are complaining about it are people who are pissy over not getting a morrowind/oblivion remaster. Sorry, I feel for you. But don't shit on others just because you didnt get what you wanted.
-
It's a good game that will also have mod support on consoles. Why would people not want that? I'm not even interested in mods but I loved that game and look forward to 100% it again no matter the grind. It's my money after all, I'll spend it on whatever I want.
-
Because so many people wanted The Elder Scrolls 6 and since they're not doing that the next best thing is Skyrim on current gen. That's pretty much it.
-
I've never played before though.
-
One reason I can probably see is that I've heard that Skyrim on PS3 is pretty bad, I think PS3 is capped at 30 FPS when 360 was capped at 60 FPS. The remaster could also be for the console market in general as Skyrim on PC was so much better graphically and because mods. Console is getting mods on the remaster.
-
So I can hopefully play skyrim for 6 or more hours straight without my xbox crashing
-
Never got around to playing skyrim on ps3 so im happy

1 ReplyEdited by Kaendael: 6/13/2016 3:39:22 PMI would have liked oblivion remastered or morrowind remaster with all the add-ons for both or either one. Guess I'm in the minority
-
I'd say if they didn't remaster it already during FO4 development it would've been a cash grab. However if Bethesda had said something like "Oh well we remastered skyrim on FO4's engine to test everything, but we're not gonna release it, who cares?" People would've flipped out too.
-
1 ReplyThey could've remastered their older games that were actually decent

3 RepliesEdited by CrypticChaos201: 6/13/2016 6:35:55 AMWhy did playstation users want The Last of Us remastered when it was barely a year old? Same goes for all the Uncharted series, and the only remaster xbox has got has been the Master Chief Collection.

1 ReplyEdited by nallimokmok: 6/13/2016 2:13:55 PMThey are remastering skyrim because the process was mostly done already. They ported skyrim to xbox one for a test earlier and all they meeded to do was slightly update the graphics. If you would remaster an older elder scrolls game it would be like making a whole new game while the skyrim remaster is just porting it to ps4 and adding some better graphics.
-
1 ReplyWhat people fail to realize is not everyone played skyrim(me being one of them).
-
4 RepliesWell, console skyrim fans asked for it. And what comes to tlou & uncharted, ps4 has sold so well, they figured there are so many new ppl with a sony console who haven't played them. Dragons dogma -> pc, good bc ran like shit on ps3. And more ppl can play this now.
-
1 ReplyI just wanted it to be backwards compatible, but apparently that's too much to ask for...
-
Part of the development team probably have nothing to do until TeS 6 reaches a certain phase in development, so instead of laying them of they let them make a Skyrim remaster instead. I personaly would like to see a Morrowind remaster but that would probably take too much time. It also will probaly cost 40$ not 60$. It kinda makes sense now, since demans seems pretty high.

4 Replies$120 for an experience similar to PC is a lot better than $1200 for the PC experience, but that's all opinion.

Edited by Werty: 6/13/2016 8:08:38 AMRemastering skyrim wouldnt use much resources since its not that old. I didnt play it that much so i will gladly buy it.
