So I was in skirmish with two good friends of mine earlier today and we got matched up against another fireteam of three. They all three had their pre-patch flawless emblems on so we knew they were (most likely) good players. When heavy came around the score was about even with them about 200 or so points ahead. Naturally we waved heavy as we were sure they knew what we were trying to convey, they waved back so we continued on with normal play. But about a minute after heavy had spawned we saw one heavy box get picked up by them, and shortly after the other box was in their hands. You can imagine what we were thinking: "no -blam!-ing way". They proceeded to use rockets to spawn kill us until about the end of the match. They won by roughly 1500 points. Now as you can imagine we were all fairly salty about this so we messaged them (trying not to be immature by just throwing insults). They said that they were playing to win no matter what and that they can play however they want to play.
Now there isn't anyone or anything that is stopping them from playing how they want to play, no matter how inconsiderate or childish their style may be. Let me make this clear, waving heavy and then taking both and using it to win is extremely immature, unethical and why some people stop playing crucible. So if you are the kind of person that does go about playing via this "style". Please stop. Winning because you deceive your opponents into waving heavy does not make you a good player, no matter what your overall k/d may be. We are all gamers, and we play to have fun, but when somebody takes the fun out of our game because they are so dedicated to win despite all costs then what is the point of playing.

They were just waving hello If you don't wanna take the heavy I'll happily gobble up both boxes
-
Never completely wave off heavy if you did then stay near your heavy or bait them then pull heavy and kill them before they get theirs
-
I never wave it, mostly because of the implied risks. And because a lot of people try to wave it when losing. Lel.

Thinking there is anything unethical about this game is ridiculous and means you need to get out more or find a new hobby. Should they have picked up heavy if you both waved it off? No, I dont think so. But, it's a frickin video game. Either get over it or find something else to do with your free time.
-
I have more fun shooting people herding for the heavy than killing people with it. *shrug*
-
Honestly I think only one person should be able to pick up heavy per crate. If you die and had heavy the rest goes to whoever picks it up.
-
Just make it really easy on yourself. Never waive off heavy. But there is one exception... If you're going against people you know, this is how you handle it. Waive it off but pick it up anyhow Kill them with The Truth Teabag your friends (this step is a must...ALWAYS teabag your friends)
-
Hilarious. You did it to yourself. If you don't want it used pick it up and die.
-
Well heavy ammo is part of the game. So why would u not use it. Why wave in the first place.

I thought waving meant a cease fire. No wonder I'm getting wrecked.

8 RepliesDid you ever stop and think, hey maybe they just waved because we waved? Waving off heavy is unofficial. They may not even know what that is. Besides, why do something that takes away from the game? If both teams get heavy it's not a cheap way to win at all. You both had an equal chance to get something that Is legal to use on the game. The only childish one is you. Ih, and if you are breaking your controller because someone dies not abide by a playstyle that they have possibly never even heard of, you may want to see a psychiatrist.
-
I always wave. If some players take that to mean I'm not collecting heavy ammo that's their problem!

More like an indication of a .6 kd I don't wave heavy with people I don't know. If you want to not use heavy, pick up both boxes and not use it ;)

Cutting the content we already have in game pffff hahahahaha.... nice :D
-
I wave you grab it after you wave go ahead, I'll just hardscope. Done it 100 times and will do it again and then bag you the entire game.
-
I will wave off heavy and still grab it, idgaf. Nonsense rules are nonsense, I could care less about sweaty rules. I suggest everyone do the same.
-
1 ReplyIt seems silly to me that people would want to wave heavy at all. If it's in the match you should use it. After all it's only like 2 rockets per person. In my opinion, you should never wave it just so this scenario never happens. You can't trust anonymous people over the Internet to be honorable.
-
How can you even be sure they waved heavy? Only a very small minority of players even know of waving heavy, don't expect people you meet in the game to understand it.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Fal Chavam: 5/30/2016 9:35:57 PMThe hell is "waving off heavy"? If you wave to me in a match I'll wave back under the assumption that you were just giving a friendly hello.
-
They outplayed you to win. Depends if you want your pride more or the win? You walked away with your pride and they the win. It's always a choice you have to make I guess. Sounds like you would prefer the win so remember that next time.
-
3 RepliesShax says "show no mercy" You wave I wave I take heavy -No mercy
-
I don't have much sympathy for you.

Edited by IScrub WreckerI: 5/31/2016 10:56:34 AMI will use whatever means necessary to grind your ass into hamburger, stuff you into a cannon, and fertilize the landscape. Because I give zero f*cks about what you consider "fair" in a game I'm engaged in.
-
Wave off heavy? Honestly I've never heard of that gentlemens agreement in PVP. Its always been I kill you or you kill me.
-
So they duped you into thinking they agreed to the gentleman's agreement of no heavy and then they nuked you. I'll give you this advice, works well in like. Don't trust anybody.
