Let's take a look at what made the games P2P so poor for them to decide something like this.
Skill based match making.
Melee fixes.
Damage referee
Attempted fixes on the connection settings. (-blam!-ing failure)
The four main factors in the death of the p2p code, yet it is somehow our fault that the crucible suddenly is this bad.
The main cause of lag is distance. Typically, the closer the host is to you, the better the connection.
We don't need bans on players to lessen lag. That is the complete opposite of the problem. The problem was created by Bungie, now they're punishing players for it.
This is Infuriating. No other company would treat their customers like this.
The company is too lazy to even implement better p2p settings. Forget about content for a week, and fix the connection settings to what it was in y1! Most of the problem would be solved. But they apparently know best. What a joke.
Sign if you want Bungie to stop restricting players for their own mistakes.
People need to realize that It isn't our fault it's getting worse.
It is their servers that decide to connect us in the worst manner possible for the sake of skill.
When our connection is suffering because everyone in the match is. They will inadvertently ban those who don't deserve it.
I believe this is a ridiculous way of dealing with red bars.

I played a lot of PvE with randoms in the last few days, and from what I saw, 1/3 of them would be banned due to their connection. I wonder, though.. Is it their shitty connection, or Bungo's net code? All I know for sure, is it's very "green" in Seattle...
This is what you get when stoners make games
1 ReplyYou are totally wrong.

3 RepliesGood internet won't red bar constantly. Sometimes can be justified by the servers, but if they sucked so bad everyone would always have problems. Many games have minimum system requirements or storage space. The optimal Destiny experience just happens to require a certain internet speed. As online games do.

Five bucks says you looked up synonyms for foolish to sound smart

1 ReplyWhats asinine is a player teleporting across the map, fazing through a wall of bullets, then giving me some buckshot to the face while invisible. Its on my xb1 recorded clips. The evidence of the scourge that is redbars is all there.

If they ban me for poor connection then I'll finally be able to move on to another game. I'm sorry if my internet speed is poop. And I'm sorry that you emphasize pvp so I feel like I have to play it.

Lol! I needed more Salt on my Popcorn. Thanks XD

Bungie would have to completely redesign the entire game if they implemented dedicated servers. We are on peer to peer so you get what you have and have what you get. In peer to peer too many people are trying to cheat the game to win so bungie needs to place restrictioons on players with poor latency or bad packet loss. If morons would stop pulling their internet plugs as it were then we would be all good. but half the people playing this game are idiot children.

I have a fantastic connection through FiOS and never suffer lag until a red bar shows up. Take the stanky connection and go play solo. I’m tired of getting booted for no reason, tired of seeing bullets come at me through walls because of someone’s red bar. Tired of people ghosting across the board and appearing and disappearing. I pay enough for my connection to not have to worry about lag only to have a lagger determine what goes down in PvP based on their shitty connection? You don’t have a good connection then that’s your problem. Not the game developer, no one else. You. It’s not a matter of elitism or entitlement by the person with a good connection either. What’s next, you’re going to complain about your car not able to go as fast as a Ferrari so it’s Hyundai’s fault?

What if we separated SBMM and CBMM into separate playlists? I got a petition on my recent activity that you could sign..

4 Repliesthis is quite the dilemma for me. I have satellite internet. I am an end game player that does PvE content as my source of rewards, and my connection is not normally an issue, even in fire teams. for those of you that don't know what that means, satellite internet utilizes actual in-space satellites to distribute information back and forth between my network and the internet. this creates a lag time, or "ping" as many of you know it. the average destiny player has between a 30-80 ping. (30-80 thousandths of a second). -my lag time, or "ping" is between 450-700. over half a second of lag time. it is also similar to lag switching, and can even be a variation of it. when my friends invite to do trials/iron banner/crucible ect, I kindly turn down the offer, knowing that frustration for me and other players is all that can come from the experience. when I do play crucible, it's generally with 2 other friends going into classic free for all so I can get my exotic bounty (sword/first curse/ faction class item ect.) and get out. other times I reserve another internet connection to host on (meaning i just use my friend's internet or something) so i can attempt a flawless trials or iron banner. All i want to know is how/where they determine if you have a bad connection, and enforce the ban. If i am playing strictly pve content, in a fire team, as a red bar, will that trigger them to enforce a ban? is it a soft ban? do they just restrict you if you are a red bar? I still have one more exotic bounty to finish- the chaperone. most people know that this takes a lot of time to complete, or even all day if you are unlucky, but i don't want to be shut out of the opportunity to get an exotic weapon because of my connection. so here is my final question: If I reserve a better connection strictly for crucible play, will I be passed on this penalty?

The funny part is they've haven't changed shit since year one. It's all placebo kid.

I think the word 'asinine' has been confused with 'what they deserve'.
lol.
...it's your fault..

I live in New England. I play with people in the middle of the country, in Cali, and all over Europe and I don't experience any connection issues except for that odd game
-
How much do you spend on internet? I spend $70/month for some of the worst speeds in the world, and those speeds are grandfathered in at higher speed before they introduced a lower internet speed cap in Canada, the same internet speed in the US is most likely $20/month, maybe you might need a speed upgrade or better router.

Bruh, if ppl with shit connections get banned it's no ones fault but their own. Playing video games online is optional. You want to play online move out of the McDonalds parking lot and get some decent internet. You live in a shitty part of the world where internet connections suck, oh well. Like I said, playing games online is optional, no where does any game company hold a gun to your head and make you buy their game and play it online. If you know full well that you let internet connection is shit and you haven't take the steps necessary to improve it, i.e.: move, get better ISP/higher end internet package, wired connection,...etc , and you get banned it's not one's fault but your own. Yeah, some of the fault is on Bungie for not having dedicated servers and forcing SBMM but red bar shits have been a problem long before SBMM became a thing.
-
51 RepliesZero fūcks given for players with terrible connections. That's right, I said it. I report every last one of you laggy pieces of shit in hopes that everyone else can be spared your McDonald's Internet connection. If you're cheating, shame on you. If you aren't, get a better Internet provider you poor sons of bitches. /end rant

Since when is Bungie restricting players with bad connections? Seriously, legit question as I haven't seen anything saying this.

2 RepliesSorry tell your Alcoholic dad to stop watching porn while you play. I pay big bucks for dedicated fiber....why should you be entitled to the same opportunities as me with your 1mb crap DSL.
-
*-* Banned
-
1 ReplyUh you do know they have access to your network data statistics right? So when a restriction is implemented they check to see if the reports are just someone being a sore loser (like 99% of the people who blame lag switching, if there were as many lagswitchers as everyone claims, every other person would be doing it) or if the report is actually viable. So with this little fact your wall of crying is irrelevant.

I hope/expect they take a lot of time to investigate before just straight up banning people. I have times where I will randomly show as a red bar. My PC is right next to my PS4, so I test my ping. Everything will be fine when testing my PC connection. Sub 30ms to the majority of Google's servers. So it has to be a problem on the Destiny or PSN side. Of course within a few minutes, I am back to a full green bar.

How is Bungie responsible for an individual's connection? This really makes no sense to me and I have never clue what you are complaining about
