Let's be real guys, the MW remaster won't live up to your expectations. Nostalgia is a funny thing, will be the reason people spend more than they should on a 9 year old game.
MW is more than likely your favourite cod, because it's the first one you played online.
Most people enjoy cod over the space of three/four years, before it starts to become stale, you realise that it's basically the same game every year.
I started with MW, enjoyed the series immensely until BO2. MW, MW2, WaW, BO were all great games. I was beginning to burn out with multiplayer on BO, mostly played zombies.
You have to ask yourself, are you only remembering the positives of MW, without acknowledging its negatives? It's still good old bare bones cod without many features. Only ten maps, not a big variety of weapons. How long before you get bored, realise you're just burnt out on the series?
Activision are using nostalgia as a marketing strategy, it's one of the best ways of making a sale. Don't be fooled. MW remaster will never be as good as the original and because it was a fresh experience 9 years ago.

1 ReplyI never got to experience CoD4 back when it came out. By the time I got it, it was infested with hackers and modders, and finding a good game was impossible. Now I can see what it was like back in 2007, and with improved graphics on top of that.

1 ReplyMW was the first cod I played and I loved it and because of that I spent 100s of hours playing it over the years. For me it will be nice to play it again but there is nothing at all that I can do on that game that I haven't done many times before.

1 ReplyExactly and with this remaster I have to ask... Why do people want this? Just buy the original game for $21 on Steam with its full set of maps, server browser, and Mods

3 RepliesInfinite warfare...wow they're just running out of names

1 ReplyMy first FPS that I really got into was Marathon. I had played Wolfenstien 3D and Doom, but they never really felt like serious games. I've always been into sci-fi too, so most games with historical setting bore me to tears, with some exceptions in the fantasy genre. Modern Warfare was the FPS game I'd picked up since the late '90s. I'm still not big on multiplayer, but the game had a pretty good story and touched on almost every aspect of military hardware "porn." The second MW game was just as good, despite having several scenes in the campaign pulled straight out of movies and TV shows that were out around that time. Black Ops fell into the historical setting for a while and didn't really pique my interest until the second one. The third was a bit far fetched, along with Advanced Warfare. Will Infinite Warfare be good? Will it make the multiplayer crowd happy? Will the campaign feel like playing another Michael Bay movie? The third answer is probably yes, maybe on the first two. TL;DR You're probably right.

1 ReplyWhy would I pay $90 for a game that I already have that only costed me $60 start anyway? Besides, WaW was my favorite CoD.

2 RepliesCoD Games Worthy Of Being Remastered CoD4 CoD MW2 CoD MW3 CoD WAW

2 RepliesI'd say World at War would be more deserving of a remaster. I sincerely enjoyed that game's multiplayer a lot.

6 RepliesEdited by Tartan 118: 5/4/2016 9:54:16 AMNever liked that one anyway. I'm not sure how I feel about remasters with new engines anyway. I mean, sometimes there's a stylistic misfire, like Halo CEA being far too bright (especially in what are meant to be cold, dark, lonely Forerunner exteriors). Other times, the older graphics are just more appealing to me. I prefer Myst - with its 23-year-old hypercard slideshow and ropey 3D models - to RealMyst, made with an actual 3D engine and 21st century graphics (well, technically not, it launched in 2000).

3 RepliesLol, in a world where it's cool to hate on CoD. One man makes a statement that makes no sense.

1 ReplyBecause there was totally nothing wrong with juggernaut last stand fragsx3 matrydom and everything else wrong with that game. it's clearly perfect dude I'm not looking though rose tinted glasses i know the problems and everyone who played cod4 knows them

only ten maps
The remaster only has ten maps. The original has more.
-
1 ReplyI never liked MW to begin with.
-
1 ReplyI never wanted it to go away, but WaW came out. When I decided to come back after playing the shit out of WaW, the game was nearly dead and filled with modders. So in my opinion, CoD4 WILL live up to the hype and meet my expectations. What I dont get, is why you would spend time specifically to shit on people who are getting excited for something. From my perspective, there isnt a whole lot to get excited about these days, and you want to try to ruin one of those things.

3 RepliesHalo use nostalgia as a marketing strategy to. I don't see people ranting on about that. I bet if you took COD out of the title and change nothing else then you guys wouldn't be ranting and losing your mind. Face it, the only reason to hate the new COD is because it has COD in the title.

1 ReplyI agree with OP

1 ReplyI disagree because I've always been somewhat bipolar towards cod's multiplayer, I loved 4, liked 5, loved 6, disliked 7, disliked 8, loved 9. So I don't think it's nostalgia, people say they are the same thing every year but I do think they're handled differently which often depends on how much I enjoy them. To be honest it's just going to be a relief to be able to go back to a more basic cod, one that's not dominated by mountains of perks, weapon attachments, emotes, stupid Exo suits and overthemed maps.
