If you think about it...the crucible is pretty damn morbid.
You're essentially going into combat, taking shots, having your brains and lungs turned into paste, willingly subjecting yourself to horrific levels of agony, all in the name of improving yourself.
Yeah, we're all essentially space zombies, but I imagine our guardians still can feel pain.
You're blowing off limbs, crushing bones and bleeding out over the corpses of your fellow comrades. Only to be revived to do it over and over again.

Which is part of why crucible is the dumbest part of the lore. "Hey, there's a flotilla of Cabal frigates over there, should we do something about that especially since they have more than enough firepower to permanently kill us?" "Nah, let's just keep running around like idiots and shoot at each other in the name of 'training' that doesn't really train us for anything resembling actual combat!." "What about these cryptic Vex/Hive structures teeming with untold power, should we study them?" "Nah, let's just paint them with each other's blood, because that makes total sense!"

if this game was Mrated like it should've been... but honestly after all this nerfs were just kinda playing long distance Lazer tag with snipers his days and they just teliport us back to a starting area while our armor lays wear we used to be.
