They changed the infusion system to promote more silver sales and cash gambling to then also have an excuse to say that it's not pay to win.

1 ReplyDon't worry Viper, let them throw all the money at the screen, that will only make Bungie and Activision sink even lower. I only hope other developers/ publishers have an eye on the situation and make sure they don't do the same mistakes. Take Ubisoft/ Massive for example, have you seen the patch notes for the upcoming incursions update? Clean, simple and most of all, respectful to its customers. No stupid jokes like Bungo does.

1 ReplyVery good point. I hadn't thought of that. Wouldn't be as much incentive to buy armor if you weren't able to make it as powerful as what you've already got and it would take many infusions even if you could. Very clever indeed.

7 RepliesFor people who don't understand OP is not saying it is going to be pay to win. He is saying the new systems are giving you more incentive to buy silver. If you had to buy a piece of armor with real money that started at level 3 and had to infuse it to level 320 now would you do that? Prob not, but in the new system you can go to 335 instantly on one infusion. With that system in place that is going to make people want to buy armor with real money now, especially because it does look really good. Not pay to win but definitely making players want to pay more. That whole throw money at the screen comment by Luke Smith doesn't seem to farfetched now does it?

Couldn't fool me though, I see this same strategy all the time in MMO's. Spend more, get item faster. You don't need to spend money, but it's a garauntee for those who want to take shortcuts. It's a common strat in free to play mmo's. "Sure you can get the armor by grinding that one boss over and over, oooor you can bribe us a few extra bucks and we [i]might[/i] just give you the armor you want without all that hard work." OwO

1 ReplyI have a good job, a little spending is not an issue for me and I am more than fine with throwing a few bucks to Bungie. Funny thing is, you will also be spending! Deny it all ya want, we all know you will buy silver and get some gear.

3 RepliesIf this is pay to win what are people actually paying to win? Is there a leaderboard in game? Is buying potentially "God rolled" armour better than armor that drops normally? I don't like microtransactions... I think they are bul*sh*t but certainly not pay to win. If some dumb twat wants to spend 50 quid on armor to get it quicker then they need shooting
