Serious question about DPS
Is the damage your weapons deal solely dependant on Light Level?
Basically, what I'm asking is, if I'm using a 170 Icebreaker, but my light level is 300 or better, would the Icebreaker still be doing buku damage??

Overall light level determines base damage for each weapon type. Impact further determines the damage. Impact is really the only part of the gun that matters for damage. RoF helps with dps, with a slight tradeoff. I dont know where RoF begins to beat Impact, but I dont really care anyway. [spoiler]Icebreaker was bae in Y1, now bae is my Eirene RR4[/spoiler]

1 ReplyYes and no. The gun light level still matters but only because it affects your overall light level. You'll still do a good deal of damage if you're 300 with it equipped though.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 4/4/2016 4:21:22 AMIt's a mix of both. Bungie explained before, but not in great detail. They said there is a lot of math behind it, but your light level and weapon level both have a big impact.
