Walk up to the biggest guy in the gym and punch him in the throat to establish dominance. Then immediately bench twice your weight because real men set the bar high.

Edited by The_Moustache: 3/14/2016 10:00:49 PM1.) Know your limits and be safe. If you're not sure you can lift a certain amount of weight, ask someone to spot you. Don't want to get injured or die at the gym while trying to impress someone. 2.) Build strength first and tone later. 3.) Nutrition is important. You're going to start eating a lot more and you want your body to have proper fuel. 4.) From what I've always heard and done, you should drink your Protein shake after your workout to help your muscles repair themselves quicker, if you want to drink one. (I could be wrong here, so someone that knows more should feel free to correct me.)

Edited by Jeff the Cabal: 3/14/2016 12:05:02 PMNever skip leg day Start off with light weights and MASTER you form because doing bad forms can get you easily injured (like deadlifts for example) add more reps to whatever it is you're doing if you are lifting lighter weights People will always help you out in the gym. Yea there's gonna be those 2-3 guys who stands and judge but a majority of the people are pretty supportive and are willing to help you. Make some friends at the gym :)

The toughest part is motivation. Apparently a lot of people quit after the first month. Make some concrete goals and stick to it. For example... I want to lose x pounds by this date. (Perhaps a better goal is reducing body fat %.) Or I want to bench x pounds by this date. Also change your nutrition for the better.

Pick out the biggest person there, and punch him square in the face. That'll let people know who's the boss.

1. Don't compare yourself to others around you. 2. Don't be afraid to ask stranges for advice on correct form. Bad form=no gains 3. Don't expect massive changes with your body in a week or a month. It will be a long time before you start to notice muscle mass.

You don't need a gym, just try and steal the weights every day and see how far you get. You'll progress better every day when you get arrested. Nerf fusions2k16~ Master of opinions

3 RepliesI will actually share some good advice: You are going to need to up your intake to account for your increased activity levels. That includes drinking more water. You can not get stronger if you do not provide the necessary sustinence. Try going 3 days a week, and if you want to do more, that is up to you. Proper form is always more important than how much you are lifting. Free weights are much better than machines. As for a solid workout plan, I recommend StrongLifts 5x5. Google it. Read up on it and do it. It works great.
