Just to satisfy my curiosity, how many players out there like or dislike the current infusion system?
Myself, I'm not a huge fan. I like the flexibility to use almost anything we want and get it to max level but I've found it to be far more tedious than it's worth. Just my opinion though.
I also realize it's far too late for Bungie to change anything. Again, I'm just curious.
For those of you who AREN'T fans of the infusion system, what would you like to see?
EDIT: Lotta good ideas out there Guardians. While we represent only very a small portion of the player base, it's interesting to note that it seems a majority of you that have commented here are not fans of Infusion in its current system.
For what it's worth, maybe we can get Deej or Cozmo to see this.
EDIT #2: Many Guardians feel like Infusion itself isn't so bad, it's the lack of drops for infusion bait. So what ways would you adjust the current system to be more player friendly?

1 ReplyIt's another good idea in principle, ruined by Bungies need to severely pad gameplay time in any way possible. The fact when you infuse something it doesn't go straight to the level of the item u are infusing is just pure bullshit. Just forces more grind upon the player, on top of the already overbearing RNG.

1 ReplySooooo what your trying to say is....
Nerf Fusion Rifles?
-
The infusion system is a great concept that was ruined by bad drops.
-
Don't like it. Ive not got too many 320 weapons and I've infused alot down due to all the required raid weapons needed. I've got others I'd like to use but don't getta chance
-
Its not a bad system in itself, but variable light level drops were an awful idea, as well as adding stats to class items and ghosts.
-
1 ReplyI personally think an etheric light-like system is the way to go. All legendaries and exotics can be upgraded to full value instantly once upgrade item is obtained
-
1 ReplyIt's made to inflate play time, you get a new gun and have to grind out shit to infuse with it. It would be fine on just armour, not ghosts, weapons, class items and relics
-
I prefer the system over etheric light because you really have to choose what to sacrifice to boost your favorite guns. What I can't stand are the terrible drop rates for high-light gear to be used for infusion.
-
1 Replyit's not the system it'self, it's the complete random light loot numbers that drop.
-
I would like it if drops weren't shit, and you had to grind endless repetitive same ole same ole same ole just for the chance that something might drop that you actually could use to infuse into the stuff you want
-
I wish they would have kept etheric light relevant by having it add 1 light level to any piece of gear. That gives an incentive to play Prison of Elders and trials. (If it even drops there still, it's been so long since I've played it) There are some small issues, like class items even having light, but overall I like the system.

1 ReplyI like the idea of infusions just hate the shitty raid drops
-
I agree with you. It was a good concept but man oh man does it take ages to reach max level. It's more accessible than Ascending during HoW, as you don't need to do one activity to be able to level up gear, but the trade off is that items level up at a slower rate. With Etheric Light it was *boom*, done. Max attack/defence item. Infusion is like "oh, cool, my gun gained +8 attack. Just need 30 more now."
-
Bungie knew they weren't going to release any new content for a long time. So they had to figure out a way to keep the hamsters on the wheel. So a screwed up infusion system mixed with the worst rng this game has ever seen was their big idea. To bad it cleared my friends list out in the first 2 months.
-
Etheric Light was so much better. Anything you like would be Max level automatically
-
1 ReplyI miss the reforging system from House of Wolves.
-
1 ReplyI prefer etheric light

Edited by Havok: 3/7/2016 4:27:39 AMIt wouldn't be bad if they fixed the drop system of gear dropped. Say I'm a 319 I should not get anything drop less than 319. They said they were going to fix the "forever 29" issue from year 1. Now in year 2 we're forever 319. Edit: The issue with what I preach is burnout :(

I like it but needs work.
-
I like it. It just takes way too much Armor/Weapon parts to do it. I find myself running low on armor and weapons alot.
-
My biggest problem is how many weapons it takes to infuse one. If I have a 320 primary that I want to infuse into a 280 then that 280 should become 320. Bungie did it the way they did to increase the grind which sucks.
-
I like the base idea, but it needs work to be practical.
-
Etheric light or reforging.
-
I liked this system, they just should've implemented in year 1 weapons with infusion after getting a certain item for the first time
-
Etheric light was best.

The infusion system isn't the problem, it's the loot system. 320 gear doesn't drop enough unless you're playing 'apologies for the bad loot mode'
