Just wanted 7 wins in trials
So I spent this weekend trying to get 7 wins in trials for a Doctrine with no luck. Much of the time in between was spent on begging people on forums, lfg and twitch streams for help with no luck as well. Mind you I am a grown man with a wife and children, smh. I'm not the best pvp player but not the worst either. I'm starting to come to the realization that not every mode of this game is for me. I'm usually in the top 3 when it comes to regular crucible modes but when in trials I get destroyed. I don't even know why I'm posting this I guess I'm bothered. Oh by the way, I'm trying my best to "Git gud"

Edit#2 It's 8pm and I was about to get on and play only to get a call from my wife that her car window is broken and purse was stolen. I can't, fml.
Edit#3 Big thanks to nydibs and a friend of his, I got the Doctrine! Cool guys, I had a great time, it was a blast. Pvtmilla sorry we missed each other, when you got on we were already quite a few matches in, thanks again. Now I need some practice for a flawless run.
Edit#4 Tried the Doctrine out in iron banner last night, had a lot of fun with it. Also had a decent amount of kills. I mostly had trouble with last word users in close range fights but wow this gun shreds.

Get The arminus d from The gunsmith. Hes has it this week. Wait for godroll. Im swappin my doctrine for that soon. It can be pretty much The same Gun but the sound of it is amazing.

Nice! I got a 306 Doctrine from Gold Tier 2 weeks ago. (And 310 Zhalo from Silver :D.) At first, it's uncontrollable but as you level it, it will become [u]extremely[/u] good.

I feel your pain, I spent two hours trying to do seven matches just for the bounty.... I did four, with two different teams. LFG & forums drive me crazy.

Yay for you. I'm glad you got one. (really) That thing wrecks. I am reserved to the fact I will never see the lighthouse or even 7 wins for that matter. I am ok at average PVP (an even k/d). Competitive PVP usually kicks my ass though. There's just a whole next tier of players I will never be on par with. The last IB is the first that my k/d actually went up so that was promising I guess but I've been 5-0'ed without a kill a few of the few times I tried trials. That was enough for the reality check. A couple of my friends are good and have been to the LH but they get all crazy from Friday-Monday and I can never get in a party with them. I watched two of them sit in orbit last night for almost an hour waiting for someone to get on to play after their 3rd dropped whist I patrolled and closed out some bounties. They finally sent my an invite but it was already time for bed. I could tell I was their last resort, lol.

12 RepliesAlmost any half-decent PvP player would get to the lighthouse if Bungie made one very simple change to the event... if an account holder has been to the Lighthouse that excludes them from Trials until reset. At the moment a small percentage of players dominate the event and keep the vast majority from doing well. How many times do they need to go in a week? There's only four adept weapons. I bet around half the people who play have never got seven wins to get the weekly weapon, let alone get to the Lighthouse. Essentially, all the end game content in Destiny is entirely dependent on fireteams and there's no chance the more casual players can get the best gear, which leaves you under gunned in regular PvP. So many of the dominant PvP weapons can only be got in PvE and now a gun like Doctrine is withheld from many by the same top tier players who play all weekend even though they need none of the gear. That's just daft. At least segregate those who have been already from those who haven't in the matchmaking process... Saying that, they can't even cure the lag in matchmaking so perhaps such a change would be beyond them...

1 ReplyTried trials but honestly see no point in it. Sure you find decent pvp Weapon but what the use? To get an exotic emblem/legendary emblem? Just to roll exotic you don't even need anymore? To have bragging right for something that could just end up putting a giant "cheater" stamp on your head because "only cheater get to trials".

Happy you got that gun... Enjoy it before it gets nerfed! I feel the pain with trials. I am not very good at pvp but one of the guys I play with is very good. That being said we did at least 8 cards and never got above 6 wins. Hats off to all the hammers out there cause I just can't believe how good some of these guys are with snipers!!!! Now usually we can counter really good snipers with a coordinated rush attack but the doctrine prevents that.., I came away from my trials experience thinking that the game is "broken". I will just leave that game mode for the people who apparently dedicate their lives to it. It's a great game mode but it used to be better! Now it's either you crush them or they crush you. I think out of eight cards we had two really good matches....
