So anyone know the best way to get arc ability kills with a Hunter w/ Bladedancer for exotic sword quest?
Saw a post like this just now for void kills with a titan, but I'm going for the Bolt Caster with my hunter. Sure wish it was on my Warlock w/ Stormcaller

I used encore and the super option that deals damage in a circle around you. First moon mission (we've woken the hive!). Use grenades etc first run, wipe, super is up for second run, repeat. Just don't kill the knight or you'll have to go to orbit.

Arcbolts with ATS Tarantella and a grenadier gun. Warmind(dark below mission), just kill all the thrall and jump off the rail to wipe and repeat

1 ReplyFlux grenades for OHK when stuck. and encore for extended arcblade use. High intellect stats... Do it while farming in the cosmodrome on low level ads.... Fast twich for more blink strikes you could use ahamkara grasps for double melees. Or a tarantella if you have one.

Play Mayhem. A whole lot less kills necessary than playing PvE

3 RepliesPatrol! You earn glimmer 250 from each patrol beacon, also use purple ghost with glimmer for enemy kills. Then trade glimmer for heavy ammo and trade heavy to your faction. Patrol or strikes, I think doing one mission will get boring too fast and strikes or patrol make better use of your time.

1 ReplyUse your legendary sword hilt melee kills. Don't need ammo. They count as ability kills.

Use the fast charge perk for melee. 2 melee charges. Run around killing guys and gathering materials. You will get a large chunk done doing that.

Dark Beyond mission. Have Encore equipped. Takes an 40 minutes max.

5 RepliesDark Beyond mission once you wake the hive use your grenade and strike kill as many as you can excluding the knight. Die respawn use you super kill as many as you can and repeat. Use the tarantella exotic chest to make abilities charge faster too. Are you on PSN?

Use encore and showstopper. Wait for when the enemy move against each other. Spawn trap with unlimited super. Thank me later.

Edited by montythedeadgoat: 1/12/2016 4:04:26 AMThis worked for me, got about 75% of the kills in an hour or so. https://m.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3nltuu/exotic_sword_quest_shortcut_on_getting_ability/ But for the arc sword on the hunter I just selected the right gear, stat increases and perks so the melee attack regenerated every 6 or 7 seconds or there abouts.

Go into the "Siege of the Warmind" mission, with ammo on your legendary arc blade. Get it down to about 5 ammo and hold down the block button until it hits zero. Go into the hallway before you reach the boss room and kill the waves of thrall by melee attacks with the hilt, grenades, and arc blade. Then jump off the ledge. Respawn. Repeat.
