Sunsinger Rework: let's give the warlocks a support class.

Currently warlocks are the only class in the game that don't have a support class. Titans have defender, hunters have nightstalker, but warlocks don't really have one. People could say that Sunsinger is that warlocks support class, but at the moment it is a slightly worse kill super than stormcaller with very meh utility outside of fireborn. I would like to change that. The following are the changes I feel that are needed to make sunsinger a truly great support class, but still letting players have the option of playing the class offensively. Feel free to comment below about what you think and bump of you feel like this should happen. [b][u]Sunsinger rework[/u][/b] [u]Radiance changes[/u]. • Make radiant skin part of the main super perk • add increase allies armor and recovery to song of flame • remove radiant skin perk. • replace radiant skin with " while radiance is active, enemies around you take burn damage. " • change fireborn to " if cast while dead, you do not receive a buff to your armor while radiance is active [u]Scorch changes[/u] • buff Solar wind into what the taken phalanx can do with their shield • removed brimstone • replace with meleeing the ground creates an AoE that buffs allied weapon damage and reload speed while they are inside the AoE. [u]Ability Modifier changes[/u] • Change Radiant Will to " kills while radiant is active extend the duration of radiance. Kills from Allies effected by song of flame extends its duration for half that amount. • switch Viking Funeral and Touch of Flame locations • remove sunburst and Move Gift of the Sun to its place • change Angel of Light to allow you to fly for 20 seconds( jump button =move up, crouch button = move down) cool down = 50% of the time it is used( if if you use it for 20 sec, it has a 10 sec Cd. If you use it for 10 sec, it has a 5 sec CD) , also prevents all fall damage by slowing you desent before hitting the ground. • put " kills with solar damage abilities have a chance to generate Orbs." Were Gift of the Sun was. Edit adding a change log to the bottom of the post. Nerfed the Max duration of Angel of light, changed the Cooldown time to 50%

  • Sunsinger is by far the subclass i hate the most. There is nothing 'Super' about its super, i understand that a subclass is more than its super but just spaming grenades isnt interesting.

      • How about changing Song of Flame to a new perk, maybe allowing you to sacrifice it as long as its above 1/2 the bar to grant tiny overshield to nearby allies, increase their damage slightly, charge supers by a small amount and set nearby enemies on fire I guess call it "Conflagration" The overshield would be a little less than Force Barrier from Defender but last longer Damage increase should be maybe 15% because I think Melting Point is 50% and Shadowshot is 30%, so give it maybe 12 seconds as Black Hole Shadowshot is around 8 Super charge should be small, its just a bonus, I could see it exploited massively if its too much, I say 5-10% of the super bar maybe less DoT damage should be enough to kill lower tier enemies from either initial impact or the whole DoT, in PvP it should bring them near death if not a full impact, if it was a full impact it should kill, the explosion is a circle instead of a cone like FoH

        You may be going too far with these suggestions ( as in into op / game breaker territory ). Though I do agree Warlocks really need more group utility now in the face of TTK. As they've have nothing on Hunter or Titan in terms of group support now. However, the main thing Warlock's lack in terms of utility is access to methods of hard crowd control. Both Hunters and Titans have access to blind/disorient/suppression effects as methods of hard control. While Warlocks remain stuck with "don't stand in the fire" as their main crowd control option which has limited usefulness in pve and only serves as area denial in pvp. The problem with Song of Flame isn't that its not a good concept, its that its not intuitive to group play. There's no visual indication that a Warlock has Song of Flame slotted and it gives no indication of the range of the aura you need to be in to receive it. It also just presents itself as "Song of Flame" as the buff name with no indication of what its doing for you. Its the only buff in the game that requires your group know as much about your subclass mechanics as you do in order to benefit from it. It [i]should[/i] operate like Courage of the Pack and buff the group period. Serving as an overall group dps burst buff. It should also indicate on screen what its doing so people know to utilize it when its up. ie it should say "Ability recharge boost" or something similar. As it is now it requires too much knowledge and coordination on behalf of your teammates to utilize. Those, imo, are the two main issues facing the Warlock in terms of having effective group support options. If those were addressed I would gladly play a Warlock. Instead of hunkering down on Nightstalker or Defender. I find Warlock to be the most interesting class lore wise but the least interesting gameplay wise. Its undeniably a solid class but it has the least play style variation of the three classes.

        • Besides the flight ability, I would actually enjoy these changes. I main a radiant skin Sunsinger, so I think that it wouldn't be too bad of changes. Besides- I at least think the melee changes would be fantastic.

              I think it would be great for sunsinger to be a real support class. However, for that to happen I also think they should completely remove the self rez style. Sunsinger noobs have the highest death rates since day 1. They die all day because "its okay guys I have self rez". I would love to have a truer support class and I think that is warlocks true purpose. It is sad that currently defender and nightstalker are more support than anything sunsinger brings. Fight on. Maybe in year 4 there will finally be a warlock support class.

              So basically: Replace <insert ability here> with "make it rain orbs, buff everyone's atk, reload speed, defense, recovery, and whenever anyone gets a kill, all this nonsense lasts longer" Seems legit. For one of the undisputed best classes in the game.

              • I have a Titan, and a Warlock. I love my Titan. I mostly use my SunBreaker for PVP, and my Defender for Raids or what have you. It's unfortunate that PVP is bloated with the new subclass only. But I feel as if I see the Warlocks different Subclasses used more often, throughout the TTK content. Even though I hate the jump, I feel like it has a evenly balanced subclasses system.

                Change the Angel of Light perk's ability to, [i]"While your super is charged you revive fallen teammates 50% faster, this ability stacks."[/i] Edit: Also, add in something for Solar Grenade stating that [u]other[/u] members of your fireteam that stand in the grenade ' AoE gain a temporary boost to defence and recovery.

              • Sunsinger is the support class bruh although most may never call it a support class because everyone just waits to self res and just look at it as an extra life subclass.
