As usual they did not say exactly what they would do. Had they stated that it would be an across the board -20 then we could have prepared.
No such info was ever released until we logged in today.

However plenty of us prepared that way and you see this in snipers like mine

Point completely missed. I understand perfectly it would probably happen and will re-infuse my sniper. That does not make it less ridiculous that they did this.

Umm it's not ridiculous at all they gave you something that you didn't deserve on accident and even let you exploit it in multiple ways even to the point of rebuilding it with low relative loss
