So...was it worth the $40 bucks?
Was it worth it to you? To me it was, I like MOST of the changes. New feel to the crucible, new weapons and gear. New great story line and area's to explore. Subclasses, ghost and fragment hunting. Yelling and screaming on the mic at your mates with new raid content. Love it!

1 ReplyI think it's a major improvement of year 1. I got destiny for Christmas in 2014 right after The Dark Below came out, but I didn't play it much, because at the time I was a CoD Trickshotter and I kind of wanted to mainly play that, plus I didn't think much of Destiny because of the repetitive story missions and how the story line wasn't as clearly explained was I thought it would be. Once I quit trickshotting, I decided to start playing more and more destiny, and my best friend (G1ngerAssassin3 on Xbox 360), who I had played Call of Duty with forever, got it on the day we both got out of school for the summer near the end of May. In May I was a level 28 1/2 Warlock, and with the help of my brother, we got my friend, A Level 1 Titan, to level 28 in about 7-8 hours. We spent the entire summer and we both finally ended up Level 34 on the same day, just minutes apart, along with my brother a week or two later. We accomplished almost everything together, we both completed CE and VoG on Hard, played Trials, and pretty much mastered PoE. I finished needing 30 more public events, and 8 more golden chests, which if I had played more I probably would've had. He finished the same as me, with the exception of defeating Skolas in Level 35 PoE, which I did on one of my last days of summer before school started. We both go to incredibly hard schools, so we make it a priority to focus on school, and only play Xbox on the weekends, which even then is hard, as I play travel hockey at an extremely high level and he plays tennis at an extremely high level as well. Destiny in year 1 was great for the both of us for the solid 4 months of summer that we actually got to play. I just feel like that even though we started actually playing it frequently in May, I got all of my characters to 34 and he got two of his (he has no hunter) to 34, and we completed raids, we didn't get to enjoy the raids and raid loot as much as we would've liked to. I got full Warlock CE armor and I got Black Hammer, Hunger of Crota, Glowhoo, Fang of Ir Yut, while the only thing I ever got from VoG was the Timebreaker. Same for him, only thing he got from VoG was the hard mode ship, and from CE he got Glowhoo and Word of Crota. The only thing that I'm sad we weren't able to do was get to the Lighthouse (I had a maxed out Last Word, and he had a maxed out Thorn). Currently, year 2 has been dope, he's got about 280 light and I've got about 255. I'm really excited for King's Fall, and it looks really cool. It's a major improvement through better storyline, more quests, better strike mechanics, weapon balance, armor, shaders, ships, etc. Anyway, sorry for posting my entire story haha, just kinda felt like telling it and tying it in with my opinions. Asking really is pointless. Is it worth it is a question that only results in a biased answer. Jerk offs who hate everything about this game will say no, fanboys will say yes. Truly it's how you feel about, and not what some jack ass says about it. I do think it was worth it

I am what most would call a filthy casual in this game...only about 180 hours under my belt. That being said, totally worth it. At that 180 hours total, the 10 or so I've spent in TTK have been some of the most fun (though I don't think it can top losing my raid-ginity in the VoG, still need to do King's Fall once my light is up). All in all, I've gotten my Spoole's one dollar one hour out of the game.

With the amount of other quests and missions following the main campaign, as well as all the extra content (including content separated by class), I feel like it was well worth it.

If you look at like Destiny 2 for only 40$ then yes. But as an exspansion no it not.

It was a change in the right direction. Why I support the dlc but also in the wrong direction when it comes to business practices. Bungie for ya they have done this before.

Yes coming from a player who was going to stop playing Destiny. HoW wasn't great in my opinion so I stopped playing spent 40 on this and it feels like a new game.
