So how do you last gen guys feel about servers shutting down next year? Are you still going to buy The Taken King? Are you upgrading?
EDIT: ok chill everybody I was a little misguided, but support is ending soon
EDIT: It has come to my attention that a plethora of users on this forums use the word "satire" without actually understanding what it means. Let me assure you, even if I was trying to mess with people with strings of humor, is would not be classified as satire.

2 RepliesBungie should reinitialize the upgrade from ps3/360 to next-gen within console family with TTK release.

2 RepliesWhat r u talking about?

10 RepliesI want to vote, but its probably pointless since all the next gen users that blame us for this shitty games downfall want last gen to die, and they can vote without anyone knowing the difference. Basically the opinion you ask for from last gen users is completely defective. Also you left no source, so this is here-say. If its true, I dont care. If anything im happy, my friends will have to upgrade, and I plan to very soon.
-
I hope this means more servers dedicated to next gen consoles
-
I will say through, Bungie has made it super easy to upgrade to next-gen since the games release. Look at how The Taken King is being packaged. Full Destiny game, Dark Below, House of Wolves, and The Taken King all for the low price of 60 bucks. That package is either aimed at new users or users going from ps3/360 to ps4/XboxOne. Bungie has been trying to get players to go to Next-gen since day one with the Destiny upgrade to next-gen version as long as its digitally bought.

Its just system updates, not xbox live support. Frankly i dont care because i will have upgraded by then.
-
4 RepliesWhy does it even make a difference?
-
You need to edit.. this is only for 360. With that being said online services for games go out all the time.
-
5 RepliesIt's not the servers to games, it's the online service is being disconnected for the 360.
-
3 RepliesThey aren't shutting down next year. Too many people still play on last gen and there are still games released on last gen. It would be like killing everyone that doesn't have a smartphone.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Haymantn: 7/14/2015 1:20:42 PMThere not shutting down the servers there just not making anymore games
-
3 RepliesCan't wait till the poor peasants can't hold us no more. :3

I don't think they should shut down the servers because I'd still like to play the classics on my Ps3 and 360. I think they should just stop game production for those consoles. BTW I'm on Ps4

I think this guy has terrorist links and this is a coded warning about a future attack.

6 Replies1. 2015 is the last year lest gen consoles will be getting any major games on either platforms. After 2015, it's just shovel ware games ranging in the 30-40$ price. 2. Server support will not be shutdown indefinitely across the board. Alot of factors go into play when a publisher decides to shut down the servers. Playstation 3 games may get their servers pulled on older games but nothing like destiny will be touched. Microsoft is going to continue to support the 360 servers because of the announcement of backwards compatibility. Games that are 360 exclusive like halo wars will still probably have their servers up and running will into 2017 because it's published by Microsoft. Battlefield 3 may have their servers pulled by that time because of EA's decision to do so. Or they can pay to use Microsofts servers to keep the multiplayer up and running. 3. Both game console companies are pushing for longer and longer life spans from their products. Xbox 360 and playstation 3 have a few more years of being supported before they're completely shelved. The playstation 2 finally got shelved in 2013 if that says anything. Playstation 4 and xbox one will have a estimated life span of 8-10 years of dedicated support. Xbox 360 and ps3 had a 6-7 years of dedicated support from 2006 to 2013. 2014 and 2015 is the years when everyone is learning and changing to the newer systems and that's why there weren't that many good games to come out at that time. Same thing happened in 2005 and 2006. Not until 2007 and 2008, the really good games started to roll out. 2016 and 2017 is going to be spectacular if history decides repeats itself.

Its a shame for old gen users. But time to move on. Happens every 10 years in the console cycles. As you get older you will get used to it
