So how do you last gen guys feel about servers shutting down next year? Are you still going to buy The Taken King? Are you upgrading?
EDIT: ok chill everybody I was a little misguided, but support is ending soon
EDIT: It has come to my attention that a plethora of users on this forums use the word "satire" without actually understanding what it means. Let me assure you, even if I was trying to mess with people with strings of humor, is would not be classified as satire.

1 ReplyIt is August 2017 and I'm still playing with no issues 😂😂... They aren't shutting Legacy Gen console servers down until 2022
-
It's f***ing stupid Destiny won't even start on last gen. F*** you bungie you just want f***ing money because you guys are selfish c***s

I recently purchased the Taken King deluxe edition several months ago, so I've only been playing destiny for a couple of months and now Bungie wants to exclude me from the next expansion pack and shut me down all together. If you start a game supporting the PS3 platform you should follow it through instead of screwing the people who spent their hard earned money and supported your business. What Bungie is doing is clearly unethical and may have legal ramifications as well. Bungie, if you want to exclude me from your community that's fine. Just give me my money back and you go your way and I'll go mine, but make no mistake, you'll never get my business again. I urge all members of the Destiny community (PS3 & PS4) to recognize what Bungie is doing is wrong. This is not about what console you own, it's about Bungie taking money from members of your community and then refusing them the service they've paid for. If that doesn't bother you, then maybe you should work for Bungie.

The Noble shall rise again On the day these last gen servers shut down, we will stay online on any game until we are booted
-
4 RepliesIf you saved a dollar every two days for the last two years you could buy a new console by now there is no excuse for it all last gen is doing is holding back gaming you should be ashamed to be playing on a last gen.

I don't understand why people use "satire" so much on here either. Lol it was just randomly everywhere.

2 RepliesI forgot at the E3 show they said Xbox 360 servers are shutting down cause 360 and Xbox one are going into one massive server for backwards compatibility to be possible. Dumbasses

58 RepliesFor the people That say they cant afford it, heres the easiest Way to get a new system within 6 months: 1) Start a 20 week plan starting on a new week 2) Week 1, put $2 away in a safe or whatever 3) Week 2, put $4 away 4) Then, with each week, times that week number by 2. Ex: Wk1x2=2, Wk2x2=4 and so on. 5) By week 20, you should have $420. You can either buy one PS4 off ebay for cheaper than in store and probably get a game or two off ebay as well with the remaining money. 6) You can get the bundle they currently have out that comes with 2 games and just put up another 20 bucks for the tax difference. 7) You can get an xbone with it without having to put up an additional tax difference There's really a number of ways to do this plan without having to have to save that much money on a week by week basis. The most money you put away will be the last 6 weeks. Just save all of your coins. If you're on an extremely extreme budget, just times the week number by 1 and by week 26 you'll have 352 bucks for an xbone. You'll 9bviously have to put in the tax difference

They aren't shutting down servers. They are stopping support, meaning nothing new will be made for them and nothing can be updated. However, servers will remain up until either A: the individual companies stop supporting them or B: it reaches a point when too few people are on the old consoles for them to bother keeping the servers online. Of course no support is a good sign for those people to finally move on. It'll be a good 3 years after that since the current gen release, they will be left in the dust eventually no matter what.

Thank God

3 RepliesOr just simply stop making games for last gen but don't shut down the systems... A lot of people still play it. It wouldn't be right.

Something to think about is that xbox came out in 2001. Xbox 360 followed in 2005 but the original service didn't go offline until about 2010. It took XB1 twice as long to release (2013) than the 360 after xbox. Not to mention the fact that backwards compatibility is coming this holiday season. I have a feeling we have a few more years before the 360 service goes offline. It will go offline though.

3 RepliesThose of you complaining a next gen system is too expensive. Amazon has a great bundle on sale right now for 12 hours.
