Why Do Some People Call For A Nerf of Thorn?
This is an updated version of my earlier poll. I've addressed the issues that I've seen.

Not only can Thorn two shot people, but it can have the best stability of all exotic hand cannons and pretty close to the best range. It's fire rate is higher than hawkmoon, and it's 9 round mag is more than adequate to take down three people. It has final round, which can be easily glitched to appear on the first round and the last. And we're not even to the DOT yet. The DOT takes away health with periodic ticks. These ticks allow you to track enemies through walls if you fail to kill them. This poison then continues to keep their health down, which keeps that player out of the fight. So the DOT has done three things for you: it kept your enemy's shield down longer than any other weapon, it allowed you to track that enemy to where they fell back too, and it removed that player from the fight for a few seconds longer than any other gun WITHOUT killing them. It's ridiculous that Bungie hasn't addressed this weapon yet. It's literally taking over PvP.

I wonder how bad ask these noods would cry if they got plugged with the thing before it was nerfed I guess they can keep nerfing it until they both sit in the vault. The damn burn used to be 21 and a lot longer. Make my gun whole again. Damn noobs always crying Di your bounties and get one

3 RepliesI realized that all of the people defending thorn just don't want the gun nerfed because they know it's so good. Because why would you defend something you don't have. People say that some aren't skilled enough to match the thorn, I call bs on that, people shouldn't have to try super hard to battle a thorn, I'm pretty sure newcomers don't want to die constantly struggling for their first kill. There is a reason thorn is the most used weapon on trials of Osiris. I still think autos could use a buff though, because not everyone favors hand cannons (best weapon in the crucible). People shouldn't have to pick weapons they don't like just to stand a chance against thorn. This post doesn't only go for thorn, I'm also talking about hand cannons in general. A small nerf to thorn, and a buff to autos could help. By nerf I'm not talking about a damage reduction or something like that, I mean something minor, like stopping the burn if the user dies. Weapons are not being used, ever since the auto nerf, hand cannons became dominate. Do something.

3 RepliesTwo head shots = death. It's not hard to hit two on the dome. Most other weapons are three minimum so it's devastating gun. Look at what everyone uses in trials......

11 RepliesSaw a reddit post that had use percentages of winning teams in trials. Thorn was rocking 50% usage. Next highest was last word around 15%. So yea it's just too good and it over centralizes the meta. If anything is going to get nerfed it's thorn for sure.

4 RepliesIt gets boring only using thorn. Pretty much all of the exotic hand cannons rule crucible. I do real good with hand cannons but when I switch it up to let's say a red death, I am no match. it's not that thorn is op, it's just that the other guns are lacking what thorn has, the ability to kill others. The closest no hand cannon weapon that is comparable to thorn would probably be the messenger, it's a two burst when you know what you are doing.

majority of thorn users today used to use suros before the auto rifle nerf. Since it was nerf and its ttk was just too low they switched to hand cannons and pulse rifles. If they buff auto rifles again most thorn users will switch back to their suros or whatever and things wont be as bad as it is now.

1 ReplyYour title is wrong. Half of all players want it gone, seriously, it's like 51.66 percent But the reason it should be gone is because it's over used. Way too many people are relying on one weapon in the game, and that's the exact reason the AR's got nerfed
