Why Do Titan's Use Mainly Shotguns In PVP?
Okay almost every time I do crucible, there are mainly titans who use shotguns and I encounter at least 1 or 2 titans using shotguns. ITS VERY IRRITATING! lolz I very rarely see a hunter or warlock with shotguns. please some one help me out here I am not a PVP player fan and would like to understand better!!!

7 RepliesFor those who play crucible and get sick to death of people using shotguns, they then acquire a shotgun to kill players who use shotguns. This then means that people who were killing people with shotguns are killed by shotguns and the rage continues. Shotguns get nerfed and people use different shotguns to try and keep the OHK they had. Titans are just better at taking damage because they have an advantage of having a 40% buff to their armour base stat and can increase it further, potentially to 100% base stat armour. This means that they use shotguns and can't be OHK by shotguns from the warlocks and hunters using shotguns, giving them time to kill the hunter/warlocks with ease and only have to worry about the other titans with shotguns, remember to span the shoot button on sight.

I see a wide variety, used by all classes, but for titans specifically, lets look at some abilities that pair up nice with a shotgun, there is juggernaught, which gives you a forward shield after sprinting briefly, good for closing a gap then one shotting someone in the face, shoulder charge is another option, which focus is more for 1 hit melee around tight corners, not strait head on at someone, (last in that branch is FOH shield during execution), defenders, well as another pointed out here, excellent used with bubble (with armor of light ill add) for creating an arena and dominating any foolish enough to enter the sphere of death (if they lack a shotggun though, and dont have a defensive bubble perk, zipping in with a shotgun is a surefire way to cancel them out)

Because.....shoulder charge in, KAPOW, KAPOW, KAPOW! Shoulder charge out. Rinse and repeat.... Honestly it's more about play style, perks and maps than anything. A strikers perk set is most valuable close range and a shotgun is the best close range special.

1 ReplyIt's not just titans, a lot of people abuse shotguns ans fusion rifles in the crucible because of the easy 1-hit kill a close range. Grab a ranged gun and unleash at them before they have a chance to get close.

1 Reply-_- Because Shoulder Charge, Storm Fist, and FoH are all (very) close range abilities. Hard to get any use out of those abilities if you're corner camping with a fusion rifle or hiding in the back of the map with a sniper...

If you are playing the Defender subclass then it's understandable. It's good bubble defense.

This seems like a stupid stereotype. I would think Titan would be the least likely cause on other characters I slide and shotgun but with titan I just shoulder charge.

It's because their armor/regen overcompensate for cqb in PvP when they lack agility. They can take advantage of the brief moment of exposure, and withstand an impact that can kill a majority of players. Because of this, it's preferable to have a shotgun with good impact and range. They're not the ones that piss me off, though. It's the bladedancers that are menacing. Some voidwalkers try to pull this off, but they aren't as much of a threat in my opinion.

Shotguns arent class specific, although you'll probably see titans with them since they have the meat to get up close and have abilities to compliment close quarters

Because hunters and warlocks are too busy using thorn and blinking.

Haha that's funny. Nearly every shotgun I'm killed by is wielded by someone with blink. PS - titans don't have blink

1 ReplyEdited by Bigs_03_: 2/16/2015 11:03:20 PMIf you keep getting killed by shotguns you need to find a way to counter them. Attack from greater distances...DON'T SPRINT! Sprinting is the best way to get shotgun blasted. And for pete's sake pay attention to your radar!

Because Titans move to slowly to snipe or use fusion rifles, but I mainly use one because it dominates in a bubble
