So, the Community Focus....does DeeJ even know what that means?
Sure sure, let's just focus on drumming up some guys twitter and YouTube sub's instead of, i don't know, addressing some of the issues the Community clearly voiced their opinions about this past weekend. I mean call me crazy and all but isn't that your job? Or is it to simply turn a blind eye to what is going on and set the Ninja's on us to quell the uprising.
You know what DeeJ? Why not just speak to the masses. If Bungie can't give us certain things then at least tell us why. Why not make a reply to "the update we will never get" and go through each point and tell us what Bungie can and can't do. Is it really that hard?
I am not asking that you pander to us and reply to every post on the forums but when something like this happens and clearly a lot of forum users get behind it, then I feel it is part of your job to reply and address the issue.
If you can not do this then I call for a vote of no confidence in our current community manager.
Bump if you agree.
Edit: Normally I don't get like this but let's look at what happened at the weekend. A lot of forum users got behind "The update we'll will never get". Before you say they didn't, sure there was only a hand full of posts covering the subject but each one had 100's of bumps of support. I understand that is only a tiny number compared to how many people play, but not everyone who plays voices their opinions on here.
Now how did Bungie manage the community on this subject? They had the posts removed. Sure it is their site and they have their rules but they invited us here in the 1st place. We are all paying guests at Hotel Destiny. A hotel that wants a 5* rating but whos level of customer service falls far short of that.
Edit 2: Ok I feel some of you think I am trying to shoot the messenger here but I am not. Let's put it like this. I don't want DeeJ to step down, I want him (Bungie) to step UP. Give those of us who have our doubts a reason to have confidence in him (you) again.
Simply sweeping away an issue that 100's of forum members got behind is not good Community Management. To be honest it is not so much what was in "The update we'll never get" that is important to me, it is the way a lot of people came together for a change to support something and then the way it was handled.
Edit 3: Over 500 replies. I'd like to say thanks for the constructive thoughts posted for and against what I am trying to say. I'm glad some understand and I'm even more happy that a few of those who didn't agree gave the time for polite discussion. How ever you feel though, stay true to your beliefs. I'm off to bed now (10.20 pm here) and I'll see how this all pans out in the morning.
Again, thanks to you all.

8 RespuestasBungie sold out. They work for activision now. Bungie is no longer a tripple A developer. They are going for as little work as possible for as much money as possible. The sad thing is though, is that it's working. Bungie isnt to blame for this. YOU PEOPLE are. You gave them your money, so to them what they did is alright. The only message bungie sees is "we are a bunch of morons, please keep giving us garbage".

I really want to know deej's answer to the update we'll never get thread.
-
ive decided to reserve judgement till the weekly update drops, hoping for a mention of vault space

2 RespuestasI vote that OP stop treating this issue like a penis and not take it so hard.

1 Respuestaall the apologists are most likely just prior halo fans, and you cant blame them for its their short sighted perspectives that makes this ok.

I think the best post (and really only good one) by Deej was when he stated that anyone who waited for IB and bought it, deserved it as much as anyone else. Everything else has been in a joking airy type of manner that tried to gloss over all the negativity. Again we don't care if you can't change some things.... but don't ignore us.... tell us what you're working on or what is not feasible... It really is not that hard to do, and community morale would skyrocket. I've both defended and attacked Destiny on multiple fronts, but I can live with problems in the game. What I can't live with is being outright ignored by a company who claims they care. IDC if it is Deej or Luke wtf/e his name is or just some random dev, either make a post with some real news or just keep your mouth shut. Don't call it news if it isn't important to the state of the game community.

Its probably not all DeeJ's fault that he never addresses any real issues that the community cares about, he definitely has bosses that he has to keep happy and who probably tell him he can't talk about certain stuff or admit negative things about the game. That being said, he really needs to turn around and say to those guys, "come on, enough is enough, we seriously need to address at least some of this crap, don't we?" TLDR, a single person doesn't make any decisions in a large company, DeeJ is just the mouthpiece, he probably doesn't even write the weekly update posts, he just has to post them.

1 RespuestaDee's job is just a PR move. It doesn't matter who the "Community Manager" is, they will never take our suggestions or gripes seriously. They only fix the issues that get through the game faster, and they leave stuff in that prolongs your gameplay. This is no coincidence. He gets a vote of no confidence from me, but like I said, whoever they replace him with won't have any real power either. They just want to appear that they listen to their community.
-
Didn't he basically tell us that he has no influence over what happens in the game?
-
-
Are you an orphan?
-
We need a real community manager not a puppet.
-
A good community manager does not hide from adversity and negative response, something deej has been doing for a while.

No confidence!

4 RespuestasEditado por Luckdog26: 1/29/2015 9:52:43 PMAlso, posting this to try and provoke a response from Deej is a stupid dick move. It's threads like this that stopped Bungie guys from coming on the forum.
-
I posted a similar thread. Megabump!!

That wasn't the weekly update bruh. If i had to guess, they have stuff to talk about this time, so the fluff was inserted a day early. Besides that, I wouldn't expect him to address forum spam. His job is to stay non committal, ensure us that they hear feedback, and only give for sure info the week before a patch gets to us. He's PR. No more. No less.
-
Concerns the community has raised in the past week? Bungie has barely commented on ANY of the communities concerns since the game launched. Also, it isn't entirely Deej's fault. He works for Bungie, not the other way around. So he can only do as much as Bungie will allow him to.
-
6 Respuestasthe "update we'll never get" was unrealistic. the OP even said it in one of his edits. how was Deej suppose to reply to that? the only thing this weekend proved is a lot of forum users can't read.
-
DeeJ isn't doing shit for the community. Never see him on the forums anymore... He is only thinking about the easy money making.
-
He doesn't reply either. Not hating on Deej just that he almost never replies to any comments. If only he replies to the forums that actually have meaning. I saw a forum that had tons and tons of great ideas Deej if you see this please don't ignore.
