Here are some more ideas. I apologize in advance if some are copied, I read through most of the comments.
Momentum
Throwing knife deals more damage the farther it flies.
Resourceful
Pick up your throwing knife. Immediately resets cool down.
That Really Hurts
Throwing knife suppresses enemies.
Luck of the Draw
Getting a kill with your throwing knife reduces the cooldown of your super. Your next throwing knife deals massive damage while Golden Gun is Active.
Scrambler
Your throwing knife disrupts nearby enemy grenades when attached to a surface.
X Marks the Spot
Throwing knife hits will cause your enemies to stagger from normal rounds for a short time. Kills with throwing knife immediately pick up ammo thats dropped.

isn't momentum backward? it should deal less damage the farther it flys due to the loss of momentum from wind resistance and the like.

Theres a certain line that can be crossed when video games defy real life physics to some degree (this is up to interpretation by anyone). Throw a penny off of the empire state building, its going to build up speed and deal massive damage despite wind resistance. Even though the throwing knife does not follow the same trajectory as the penny, this would not be the first idea that defies real life physics. How does one make bullets that magically become stronger after a kill? How does one make high caliber rounds that increase flinching without making them deal more damage despite being oversized rounds? I think there is room for backwards momentum in destiny.
-
a penny falling off the empire state building does not deal massive dammage. in fact it rarely reaches the ground due to wind hiting the side of the building and blowing them up onto ledges. mythbusters tested this. I'll copy and paste the results for you. Firing a penny at terminal velocity (65 miles per hour (105 km/h)) into concrete and asphalt disks and a ballistics gel head with a human skull failed to result in any penetrations, likely because the speed is too low and a penny's mass too small. Even when fired from a rifle, the penny was unable to penetrate concrete or a ballistic gel dummy's skull. Even modifying a rifle to shoot a penny at supersonic speeds failed to cause a penetration. In comparison, a real 6.5mm bullet split the dummy skull. Visiting the Empire State Building, the likely source of the myth, they realize that updrafts and roofs of lower floors would prevent a thrown penny from reaching street level.

Never got the chance to see that episode. =( I could rephrase the question to how much force is considered massive damage. But screw it, I lost that explanation example. (i blame common core math examples.) What I am trying to get across is that thrown objects can accelerate over time. Someone at the construction site has died from a tape measurer to the head when dropped from a great enough height. He forgot wear his hard hat. Theres not much wind in destiny to begin with. I never find myself getting tangled in my own long, majestic cape. Capes should make good anemometers (hopefully).

oh yea... here ya go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHxvMLoKRWg

tape measure has a lot more weight to it, so that makes sense, but your still making a mistake, maybe with your words. objects that are dropped accelerate to a certain extent. that is what is called terminal velocity, its the fastest an item can move with the wind resistance caused by falling thru the air. think the correct term for it is drag. also I'm not talking the kind of wind you would see in your cape when standing still... jump off a high rock and see if your cape moves and you will see the effect of wind resistance on your cape. for a knife to gain enough momentum to achieve greater damages at greater distances, it would need some kind of pull tward the target. or to fall a much greater distance then it had traveled up. as the only thing that could add to the speed of the knife would be the pull of gravity. anything else then you are just losing momentum the farther the knife goes. ever played paintball? you shoot at something far enough away your paint will not even explode and just drop to the ground because all momentum was lost to drag.
-
Then it should be called... "Reverse Momentum".

Do you really want hunters to be even MORE ridiculous in crucible? Great ideas honestly, but hunters need ZERO help in crucible. A blade dancing hunter who's chucking knives too. Count the tears! :)
-
The ideas were meant for the gunslinger class. But blade dancers with throwing knives is a good suggestion too. xD
-
I really like the momentum idea! The gauntlet could have an unspoken buff where the knife drop-off curve is less steep, thereby making it easier to hit enemies farther away.
-
I like it, but suppressor is too good. It would completely shut down blade dancers gun slingers and Sunsingers. If suppression didn't work on folks mid super it be different but it does. Suppressor grenades take more aim than a knife because they take time to detonate.
-
There are a lot of things that are too good. Double flame shield, double lightning grenades, blinding bubbles and other super enhancements, etc. A suppressor grenade is still handy for bouncing it around corners to shut someone down without seeing them, its all about that timing and anticipation.

Bump. Especially resourceful
-
Hitting a critical on an enemy it has a chance to do massive damage to bosses or ultras
-
Realistically "momentum" wouldn't work because if you throw it the wind resistance would slow it down :p unless it has jet boosters...
-
I absolutely vote for 'Resourseful'. When I had my hunter, that's all I wanted out of the knife.
-
"resourceful" shouldn't be a perk.. It should just be a thing. I have no idea why the -blam!- it dissolves?? What the hell knife dissolves
-
They are eco-friendly knifes. The future thinks about the environment. ;-)

A really badass space magic assassin knife. Nobody will ever trace that knife back to me.
