I just failed a public event on earth..
I just failed a public event on earth. As a level 31, I could not kill a level 5 Captain target. Exhausted all of my ammo in all 3 guns. Full Fatebringer clip would only just get though his shields and then they would regen while I was reloading.
Does this strike anyone else as a bit ridiculous?
I'm sure someone is going to respond with "get good" and someone else will talk about the time they solo-killed a target-Captain while masturbating but that can't be avoided here I guess.
I should also point out that I am aware of how the level/damage cap works and I [i]know[/i] it's a "public" event but when there is no "public" (which is most of the time lately, in my experience) then it's silly.
So here's my feedback: Public events should scale so that they are always [i]possible[/i] to win with the number of guardians available. (I'm not asking for them to always be "easy", but [i]possible[/i].) It's frustrating to exhaust all bullets and not get through a shield. If he can't kill me and I can't kill him- seems like a pointless event.

Git gud breh. I can beat him with husk of the pit only using my feet to control the player. Nah. Hes pretty tough solo, but it is doable if you can keep him from sprinting away. Melee attacks in between clips really help.

That guy is unique, I mean I put my entire 150 round clip of my arc prestige IV into him and barely brought down his shield. His shields came back up while I was reloading even though I had war machine active.

Drop their shields with heavy machine gun, then stagger them over and over with a sniper. Win. All of them are very soloable.

I am sincerely not trying to brag, I am just curious on why you failed to kill them, normally they are soloable for 29+ toons. Its possible there was lag? Although, if I am thinking of the same guy you are, I think I recall it being difficult. I remember having a tough time with him, and I dont remember ever soloing him, so i believe it just varies on which one youre going to be fighting, some easy, some not.

This is no ordinary captain! Its Randal the vandals dad. If I bump into this event and my fusion wont take off his sheilds in two or three shots, I run away, waste of ammo. Not all the captains in this event are the same, most die easy enough.

Yes that guy is tought very similar to the one at rocket yard solo they are damn near impossible to stop

What area on the Cosmodrome was this at? Randal is supposed to be very hard to kill and requires two or more players with good arc damage weapons to kill him. Gratz on having the Fatebringer!

This guy is a bitch. Try slowing him down with grenades and using a shotgun point blank on him. Only way I managed to so this guy ever.

This guy is right, unless you happen to have full ammo and all arc weapons equipped it's basically impossible, it's easier to solo crota than this captain

Thats the only public event that i have run into that has a target with a crazy good shield and insane amount of health. Thats the only one ive needed help with and my highest lvl guardian is also 31.

Yeah I dont even bother with eliminate target events unless there are at least two other guardians with me.

I could not crack his shield despite countless alpha strikes, in the end, I just walked off, with a handful of rounds left in my Hawkmoon, and nothing else. On a side note, has anyone noticed how the Psions, fool around like little chimpanzees, with guns in their hands?

Put his shield down with a fatebringer and then shoot some rockets at him. Easy.

1 Respuestayou've just met captain bulletsponge. His shield regen is out of this world. 7 gally rockets all my special ammo and barely dented his health. I just ignore that public event now.

Took three of us two using fully loaded Jellyhorns and my icebreaker and we still exhausted all of our ammo killing him all at 31+

1 RespuestaReally? I soloed him while masturbating. But seriously tho he is a pain in the ass. I used to just leave if he poped up. Try using an arc fusion rifle on him. Murmur seems to do the trick for me.
