This review explains everything destiny is and isnt and why it is important for bungie to become more involved and why players cant be patched.
Cant express how on point this review is, a must read if u have been playimg since alpha (me), beta, first day!
UPDATE: I Think We Can All agree that Bungie has to see this Review, and smile a little, then immediately look over the flaws that really need to be addressed in this game :D. Thanks for liking the post guys glad to see most people can relate to this article! Old or new player alike, this puts everything in perspective.

"Somehow I don't yet feel as though Destiny has wasted my time, despite the fact that thanks to the expansion's awful loot system, the game has deliberately and obviously wasted my time. What a feat, that a game can so thoroughly have it both ways!"
"No one was there anymore, of course. To Yannick, this was just another field in Destiny, and the Loot Cave was just another cave. Clearly I wasn't conveying its historical significance emphatically enough. "This was the cave," I said, "That defined Destiny." He still didn't get it. I guess you had to be there"
"As Destiny continues to change, this sort of shared folklore will become increasingly commonplace. Ah yes, this was the place where we cheesed Crota for the first time. Can you believe you had to unplug your LAN cable? Oh, and over here, this is where I grabbed the sword at the last minute, brought down a gatekeeper, and saved my entire team! Oh, that stuff? Why, that's Spinmetal. There was a time when we used to spend hours just farming it..."
Like any online game, Destiny is defined by its community, and Destiny's community is defined by its shared history.

This is a great article.
-
Spot on review, great read
-
Pretty much says everything I would want to say about this game in a much better way than I ever could
-
This article speaks truth.
-
Bump for Bungie.
-
Great article! Totally hits the nail on the head. I have to agree that it seems the greatest fun we have in this game is exploiting all the loop holes the community can find. Cheese away fellow guardians! Bahaha!
-
Bump. This is why, after all of the negative reviews of the game at launch, those same sources wouldn't go a week without publishing one or two Destiny related stories.
-
I liked it

1 Respuesta
In September, I said that Destiny was so brazenly exploitative that it was only natural that players would take every opportunity to exploit it right back. That remains the case.
That statement hits the nail on the head. Bungie doesn't seem to understand human nature.

Great article and one everyone needs to read. Destiny can be around for 10+ years but it needs to make changes and keep us players involved.
-
One of the best articles I have read. It is PvE focused though and does not mention the lack of modes to play in The Crucible. For me at least this lack of modes is the biggest reason I will stop playing Destiny. Hopefully we will have something besides Deathmatch & Control to play soon. More than 6v6 is also needed. Time to bring out the 12v12 games Bungie.

I think the article really captured what being a Destiny player is all about. Despite all the obvious flaws and shortcomings, we all come on to run our weekly raids and nightfalls, rage about the stuff we get, and help our friends do the same. We spend the bulk of the week playing bounties to level up our gear, ready for next weeks raid. Then Xur comes on friday and we take to the forums to whine that he doesn't have what we were after. We complain there isn't a lot to do, but somehow a lot of us have sunk 100+ hours into the game and it feels quite productive. This seems to be my typical week, what about yours? Then there's the fact that we spent ages probing the game so now there's more cheese than my fridge.

We are still talking about what's wrong with Destiny? This topic is so 2014.
-
Bungie wiil read it later. They have been having parties for the last week high fiving each other while re-reading the paragraph that one of the artist from Penny Arcade wrote about them giving them the game of the year for 2014.

Bump for truth.

3 RespuestasEditado por ButWaitThurzMore: 1/8/2015 5:21:32 PMI like this re-review. Some key points I agree with: 1) Gameplay/Story progression should be done more like the Urn. Add some more flavor to the in-game story context as well and you have a much more engaging storyline. 2) Hopefully there will be more weapons like the Husk of the Pit. It's a great development for progressing weapons, and it's more rewarding to level guns that way. 3) Exotic weapons shouldn't lose progress. Instead, keep your current progress and add another branch of 3x attack upgrade for example, and require an exotic shard to begin that chain, therefore requiring you to use 2 exotic shards to upgrade to the max power from the base exotic. 4) Level up the VoG raid and equipment. I'm hoping when HM for Crota's End comes out, they add a 32 difficulty for VoG which provides upgraded equipment. Otherwise this raid will quickly become worthless. 5) Keep upgrading the economy. Right now, for most who have run Crota's End, Ascendant shards are useless. While the economy has gone in the correct direction by providing resources for marks, and trading radiant energies/shards, a key trade that is missing is upgrading ascendant shards for radiant shards. For example: make it a possibility to trade 2 ascendant shards and a blackwax idol for one radiant shard. Another possible fix would be making it possible to attain radiant shards/energy as a reward in nightfall/weekly strikes. That's all I've got for now, feel free to add/comment additional ideas.

great read...and strangely makes me love Destiny all the more
-
Interesting read until he started to give too much philosophical importance to cheesing, loot cave and all exploits are gone for good and hopefully all the Crota's cheesing will follow the same path asap.
-
Very good summary of what's going on. Honest representation of what the game has become .
-
I like that half the comments disagree with the review.
-
That really changed my outlook, I hate all the cheesing and always wanted them to fix it but yah, there might be bigger problems because you can't patch players, we'll find another way but these glitches with boots and heavy ammo has bothered me and at the same time went over my head for what feels like a century
