I'm 700hrs in and this is spot on to how I feel about the game right now. I really only play Tuesday nights and just get on real quick on Fridays to see what xur has. Other than that I play other things now.

Right!!!! This is so true. I like this game in spite of its flaws, not because of them. I don't care we all have the same gear. I don't care if we all have the same weapons. This is not wow stop comparing it please. This is Halo. Just bigger. Skill is what you need to win in the crucible. Besides iron banner power does not matter. How good you are does. (Yes I know I suck at it) Every one has a weapon class they like the most. Every one complaining everything from Classes to weapons is overpowered and needs a nerf. Or a buff. So bungie just please fix the bugs. Then worry about the cheese. Fix the RGN (yes 5 to 7 strange coins for 4 weeks straight is broken 2 vex yet no fate bringer. Is broken). If you give us the guns we we want we play more! I am completely okay with the grind to level up gear. Just not the material farming. This has gotten better but I do not want to drive in a circle around the map. This is not fun. I have a limited time to play. I would so much rather be playing crucible, doing Raids, ROC strikes. If you fix this there would even be more playtime from the community. Hell this game punishes us yet we keep coming back. Imagine how much we would play if it let us do what we wanted to. As usual, I disagree with most of the complaints. Is Destiny an MMO? No, not exactly, but it is inspired by MMOs. Which is why Light level is tied to gear. This is a similar system to what's implemented in most MMOs, or at least WoW, which is what I'm most familiar with, they just simplified the system to tie armor directly to your level instead of gear quality, where sure, we may both be lvl 70 (last time I played WoW), but your gear is far superior than mine. You don't want to tie level directly to time spent in the game because this will leave behind casual players, which is a terrible long-term business strategy. And before someone says it, yes, WoW had/has more content than Destiny, but I also spent more money on WoW and have more fun playing Destiny. Turns out I prefer direct FPS control over my character over pointing and clicking a mouse and hitting hot keys. The exotic reset was not that bad. For heavens sake, I had Thorn reset and fully upgraded over a weekend of normal playtime. It was hardly a marathon session. And it was either I upgrade Thorn or upgrade something to replace it, either way I'm using time and XP. And how many exotics did you really need to reset? Unless you're convinced you need all your exotics fully upgraded, which makes you crazy and is your problem, you probably only reset 2 or 3, or just acquired an upgraded model. By the way, the exotic reset was for newbies. Think about it. It came out roughly the same time they did away with farming and also when they took out the need for ascendant mats for exotics. Then, they gently push the veteran players to upgrade their exotics, resetting them in the progress, briefly putting them on the same playing field as a new player who may have just gotten his first exotic. Consolation prize, your upgraded exotics upgrade faster! Also, of course TDB made our old gear slightly obsolete. What else were we going to do? When you look over your character and see every weapon and armor piece fully upgraded, don't you feel a little... Empty? Like, why am I doing bounties when all my gear is upgraded? Prior to TDB, I had all the gear that I could realistically acquire without relying solely on RNG. If all my old gear remained viable, why would I need new gear? If I don't need new gear, why am I playing? Love it or hate it, the gear treadmill keeps you in the game, and it will never go away. You either accept this fact or you find a new game to play. I had a good idea what I was getting into when I bought Destiny. I didn't get sucked into the hype. I played the beta. I've played other shared world games or MMOs. Am I disappointed in the story? Yeah, a little, but I also didn't expect an epic story out of a shared world game, where the game will tell me I'm an epic hero in a cut scene even though my lvl 32 buddy carried me through the game, even though the pack of enemies I killed 60 seconds ago just respawned, because someone else needs to kill them, too. And on that note, what's Diablo's story? What's WoW's story? Oh, you don't know either? My point exactly. Does RNG suck sometimes? Yeah. It also sucks when I don't win the lottery, so why get upset over it? At least everyone has their own loot roll and there's no need/greed rolls, a la WoW. I'm not "competing" against my teammates for loot, everyone gets their own stuff. Overall, I trust Bungie. I've been with them since Marathon. I think they'll fix what "needs" fixing (which is not the same thing as what the community asks for. Just because you got Strange Coins in the Nightfall, doesn't mean the loot system is "broken." I will also be amazed if we ever get more vault space). I think, for example, once House of Wolves has been out for a while, the raids will all get upgrades so you can mix and match your favorite loot. I don't expect this to happen anytime soon, because they want people focused on the current high end raid. TL, DR? You should try writing all that on a phone.
