Is Bungie's "stocking stuffer" the last straw for some Guardians?
Were you happy with your run of the mill legendary weapon? I'm sure most Xmas noobs certainly are! Or do you see this as a missed opportunity for Bungie? An opportunity that could've made the toxic forums explode in positivity instead of all this hatred going on? Let me know what you think. Discuss. Debate. Grow.
(I myself got a Badger CCL. 2 energy basically. I was expecting this but would've been happier with say; 10 heavy synth, a shader, emblem or class item. I still love this game, but think Bungie continues to shoot holes in a sinking ship for some)
Edit 1 (5:04 pm): Thanks for all the responses everyone! Its always interesting to see people from all different walks of life respond to these issues. First thing I've noticed; most Day One players were underwhelmed, indifferent, or think Bungie could have done a better job with the PR on this "freebie". Others are upset that Christmas noobs are getting handed a lot of things. Fair enough. Christmas noobs or even casual players have greatly enjoyed this gift! I'm happy for them as well. I've seen some better options for what could have been done. My favorite: a redeemable token to get any Vanguard or Crucible gun.

Ive been playing since the beta and was happy with my gift. It will be used and not dismantled. Can't complain about free stuff.

But I'm happy, I needed a couple more energies and if they would've gave an exotic I would've been passed because I worked hard to get all of them (almost) and they just gave them away. The surprise was all I wanted. Thanks for being a great game I keep playing bungie

Not at all. A legendary weapon could still be great. Also, it's free. They could have never said anything and not given us shit and nobody would be complaining. Get over yourself.

the insane reaction to what the gift actually was (they warned from day 1 that it would be small) is proof that no matter what they gave it would have gotten complaints.. the toxicity is in the people not in what bungie does or doesn't do.

It's not exactly a game breaker but it's pretty lazy in my eyes. Maybe the whole not wanting to offend any religious types got to much for them so they kept it low key. To be honest the pumpkin heads were better and the were pointless to say the least. Poor show bungie. Nothing might have actually been better.

They should make a weapon called "Last Straw".... a terribad Hand Cannon just to troll the complainers. You should be happy that Bungie even gave players anything. They don't owe you players free crap. Sure, the game could have been better tested to make sure there are no glitches... that's fair and we deserve a working game. But to demand that you get a free Gjallahorn is ludicrous. Sorry people, you got your moneys worth when you paid $100 for the game and DLC. People have spent weeks playing since September. You should be glad Bungie doesn't charge a subscription fee like WoW or make it truly pay to win with micro DLC like CoD. It's like all the idiots from the CoD forums realized AW is garbage, stuck with Destiny and took their brand of entitlement to the Destiny forum.

They should have made a new exotic weapon bounty instead...engram gift is begging for a shit ton of whining bc some will get better than others...they should have given an insanely challenging exotic weapon bounty(challenging, not tedious)..or maybe a choice of 3...
