So thought i would share this cheese I found today with the group. I don't mind doing things legit but sometimes life leaves you without a lot of free time. My ice breakers are ready for when I get off work tonight ^_^
P.S. the Video isnt mine just something I found while on Reddit at work lol.
You're welcome :)
Edit 1: Valus Ta'aurc is also known as Rockets McDickface it seems lol
Edit 2: this spot is tricky for hunters to get to :( but thanks to @H4NDGREN4DE with the tip of
All you have to do is max out your agility and equip a gun that has the +2 agility perk and boom! You can double jump to the top.
3 RespuestasOP needs to update his post to say that hunters CAN get to the top WITHOUT jumping on a fellow guardians head. All you have to do is max out your agility and equip a gun that has the +2 agility perk and boom! You can double jump to the top. You can thank me later ;)

I did the weekly heroic on level 30 last night. As soon as we entered the room with Valus, one of the other players immediately got up on the chandelier. A few short seconds later, he died up there. The other player and I continued to stay at the bottom fighting Valus and his troops. We did have to revive each other a few times, but at no time did we revive Mr. Chandelier. So... it is possible to die if you get up there. Just know that if you do, it's unlikely that your fellow guardians will revive you.

3 RespuestasRemade my cheese spot with better explainations. My spot still remains the best IMO
-
Imma use it
-
I've been doing this ever since my first Mars strike.
-
Dang thanks for this! Even though I already did it
-
10 RespuestasMy group and I brought a tank in there yesterday. It was a lot of fun once ya get it in there!
-
11 RespuestasSome say "Cheese", I say "Tactical Positioning". Think of it like this, if the character you control actually was YOU, would you stand in the open while being bombarded with rockets, while being shot at with a mini gun that has the accuracy of a scot rifle w/ unlimited ammo that also never has to be reloaded? I THINK NOT! :D
-
1 RespuestaDid they fix the out of map cheese yet? I'll just use that.
-
Thanks for the video. Love that name. Dickface. Lol
-
That spot has been known for a pretty long time, nothing new
-
2 RespuestasI did this strike at lvl 24 earlier. My first weekly heroic. I know I'm pretty crappy at destiny but is this strike one of the harder ones? I got to the end solo yesterday. Took forever. Even w 3 of us hammering away that prick just soaked everything up! Thanks for the video, I might try it again w and see if I can get up there. I had my weapon w agility equipped but I forgot to max agility under gunslinger *I COMPLETELY understand why he is rockets mcdickface now. Lol

1 RespuestaGreat spot. It's not cheese because he can fire rockets at you. The ads can shoot up at you. You can still die up there. It's a tactical location. I don't use it expect for nightfall and weekly. During roc strikes I am at +5 or 6 level advantage so I can jump around and decimate.

1 RespuestaTried this several times now with a hunter, no luck. No ups!

3 RespuestasHaven't watched the videos, but I use the spot to the left of the door he enters from. You can shoot him through the crates and he can occasionally get a rocket or bullet spray through the opening. All 3 can fit back there and have firing positions. The only tricky part is when he wanders to the other end of the room. The biggest down side is that you have to leave the bunker for ammo runs. Outside of that you can easily clear any adds that spawn and drop down in front of you by using one of the 3 firing spots. In truth, I love when this strike is the Weekly. The tank is the toughest part since it can one shot you if you miss time a jump or your concentration drops for a second.

1 RespuestaThat spot did not work well for me when solo'ing. When he walks to the other side of the room there's nowhere to hide from those homing rockets!

11 RespuestasI love that you identified this. I am certain to receive some flames with my next comment but I don't consider that any of us that use the maps and areas of cover as "cheese". It is one thing to kill Atheon by throwing grenades which pushes him off the ledge before the battle truly begins, that is certainly a cheesy way to beat him and something I feel Destiny should have fixed. But I jumped up into that structure identified in the video and Valus still killed me...more than once. I am not the best player, but I am good enough to have gotten up there without dying and then Valus still got me. I have never seen a single person stand toe-to-toe with Valus or any of the bosses and survive...everyone is ducking behind something or strafing back and forth from behind cover. It is the only way to survive the boss fights. I think too many of the players keep identifying hiding spots, as "cheese" spots incorrectly. Now, if you had a way to somehow glitch Valus and cause the doors he walks through to close on him and crush him...that would be a "cheese" and something Destiny should fix. But if the players keep identifying excellent hiding spots and cover as "cheese" spots then the possibility exists that areas which currently allow players like me to complete the end game content will get "patched" and that would be wrong. I still believe that the area under the platform for the Archon Priest should never have been patched. I died under there all the time, as did many other characters I have played with and watched online and now we are all just dying on other parts of that same map. What areas like this on the Valus strike and the Platform on the Archon strike provide is excellent cover but you can't be stupid when in those spots, or you will die. Also, someone still has to have the skill to get into these areas of excellent cover and the skill to actually do enough damage to the boss to kill it. For those reasons I think, we, the Destiny players, should refrain from identifying excellent cover spots as "cheese". I mean it isn't like someone jumped up into the fixture on this Valus strike and then disconnects their internet connection to kill Valus...that would be a cheese for sure.

I tried it last night but I was solo(like most of my weeklys) but if i was w/a team I wouldn't be able to revive them and we couldn't all fit up there so the best way is to go solo if you plan to cheese and try to stay in the middle as much as possible be cause they can still kill you if you hang out by the edges
-
It's not that great a place. I did it two night ago just to see. If you're with a team you are not in a good place for reviving them or them you. If you are the last standing or if you solo then every enemy is firing at you nonstop from all sides and you do take splash damage, a lot. You can only use rockets safely when he moves to the other end of the room. No ammo so bring synthesis.
-
Didn't really help me, kept getting hit from the enemies on the side platforms.
-
Went up there, didn't found any cheese on the spot.
-
I agree. I like running missions but when I have to do the same strike 6 times (3-nightfall 3heoric) it gets old real quick..
-
7 RespuestasHow do you even get up there in weekly or nightfall? The room is always full of enemies that shoot the crap out of you.
-
1 RespuestaHow does your gun have like no recoil?
-
Crate to your right by the entrance door is easier - nothing can hit you as long as you shoot ads when they come round the corner, and most of tau'rec's rockets miss you, when he's down the other end you can just snipe a bit further forward

Just a few tips for this. Tip 1: If you're solo, safer to use the ramp to avoid an oops and restart Tip 2: Hunters are advised to use triple jump or bd with full agility/higher jump and something with lightweight to get up there Tip 3: Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge
