So, based on the first dlc which let's face it doesn't have the depth of content most people were expecting. The second dlc looks like it'll be pretty much the same. Is anyone planning on buying the second expansion pass for another two lacklustre pieces of dlc?
Must admit, I mistakenly thought the expansion pass covered all of the dlc's which I thought was good value for money. But £35 for what looks like suspiciously cut content and minimal additional content (especially on xbox) is a bit much. Based on what I've seen so far Destiny is shaping up to be the new COD cash cow. Well played Activision, bad move Bungie.
I think it would also help if Bungie started communicating their plans with greater transparency to better manage expectations. So far it's been very shoddy, with Deej taking the brunt of the frustration. It's a bit like the plot of the game, it's incomplete and vague.
What's your thoughts?
Edit: btw I will probably get all of the content available as I'm still having fun playing the game but that doesn't mean I have to like the cash cow method. I am genuinely interested in what people think.
Edit 2: Ladies & gentlemen, thank you for the constructive contributions. It seems the majority, as long they're having fun will be buying future dlc and a lot of people are hyped about the Comet:Destiny 1.5 release. I just hope that Bungie improve communication with the playerbase so we know what to expect.
I've also come to the conclusion that the cost of the dlc is basically another form of monthly subscription (£9/10 a month) and I'm ok with this as I'm still enjoying the game. I can see why they didn't go down the monthly subs route and it also adds light as to why people who didn't buy the dlc can't play the weekly & nightfall every week.
You've also all helped changed my perception of the community from toxic trolls to bunch of decent folk. Thank you for that. If anyone is on xbx1 feel free to add me. I play mostly strikes, most of the time. I'm alright on pvp too.

I'll buy all future DLC for this game.

im buying it! where do i sign up

With the things I hear about comet supposedly being $60 and a 2nd season pass, nope. A second season pass is annoying and I hate it, as it is supposed to provide all content for dlc's.

5 RespuestasI pretty much did the same thing as you. I guess I was just expecting more from this game. With the expansion I played through it. But I dont feel like the grind for 32 is worth it when I can just wait for level 33 vendor gear to happen next expansion. Ive gone back to warframe for my grinding entertainment personally. The game is much more expansive and diverse in terms of how you can set up your weapons and character.

1 RespuestaHow can you complain about spending $35 bucks on something you will spend hours playing which took bungie years to develop when that money would usually go to a tank of gas to get you to work and is gone in a week? $35 in today's world isn't what you make it out to be.

Im super excited about the possibilities.... As long as im having fun, and spending my own money, the opinions of a bunch of whiney cocksuckers dont matter.
-
If the leaked DLC plan is true, then yes.
-
I'm hoping Hardline is out in time to save me from throwing another dime at this game.
-
I will not.

5 RespuestasHell no I won't, I'm not some half-tard desticle. I got suckered into buying the season pass and that's the only reason I'm still around. Bungie won't get another penny of my money.
-
Depends on the price
-
I bought the limited edition, so I already did.
-
I bought the Limited Edition of Destiny so I technically already did.
-
I will just because I enjoy the game and I'm not tired of it like some ppl because they rushed into the gear. Plus I got$$ to throw around

10 RespuestasNot trying to be a smartass or anything but there is only one expansion pass which includes two (downloadable content packs). If you look how things are worded it means that both of them combined are an "expansion" of sorts, and by themselves are small content packs. People need to look at this from a business standpoint, you have thousands of games either on platform or mobile that are making a lot of money by selling content for cash, so why would this game be any different. I paid $15 for the first dlc, which I am enjoying and still having fun with...I spend more on coffee in a single week. Be glad that they are not following the trend of mobile games where you have to pay to have good items.

Eh I don't know...if the dlcs are gonna be going down this road, then probably not. Making you pay $35 for what you THOUGHT was gonna be ALL the released expansions, but only being TWO, was disappointing. The comet dlc itself will probably be $20-$30 not including the expansions pass that covers the last two Destiny dlcs. My hope in Bungie is failing...hopefully they can do something that will change the course of this game for the better.

I doubt I will , the time investment for gear is too much .
-
Depends what games are out by then.

1 RespuestaAlready have it and intend to support this game all the way with little DLC, large expansions and the other Destiny discs that are still yet to come.
-
I will be getting it and all DLC. I 100% support this game and Bungie.
