There's a downside to being level 31. I call 'em vultures.
So I'm a level 31 Hunter. Nothing too special I just got the new Vanguard gear and Young Ahamkara Spines (Those gauntlets look amazing!) Right now I'm leveling my upgraded exotics. So that means bounties and lots of em!
But I've encountered a problem. Nearly EVERY time I go to cash in for my sweet sweet XP guess what happens.
Some random group of guardians goes "HEY LOOK A LEVEL 31 I'M ABSOLUTELY SURE HE WANTS TO DO THE RAID OR HELP ME DO WHATEVER I TELL HIM TO IN A VERY RUDE TONE OF VOICE LETS SPAM HIM WITH INVITES UNTIL HE LEAVES AND CALL HIM NAMES IF HE DOESN'T JOIN UP!"
I don't. Please go away. I once got six different invites in the 30 seconds it took to walk to Xander 99-40
I honestly don't care all to much about grinding my butt off to gain one level. I can do everything in the game just fine. Plus the RNG hates me so I don't get armor anyways so I don't need radiant stuff.
It doesn't bug me all too much. I understand that's a good way to get a group together. I kinda feel bad ignoring them, but I just wanna do my own thing ya know? I'm just wondering if I'm the only one. Anyone else in my boat?
Edit 1: Wow. More responses than I expected. This is actually my best thread. Glad I aint the only one. Anyways a little about me I don't have any real drive to get to level 32 because I'm not a big fan of the CE raid gear and it's more work than I' care to do. Also I'm not against helping people who are struggling, I often do. But not people who are rude or spam.

Half the time when i use destinylfg.com some random noob invites me from the tower and i accidentally accept. PSA: you are all terrible and no one wants to wait in your party while you rodio down 4 more random noobs from the tower.

I clear 3 sets of bounties on 3 characters. If messaged before I'm done, I'll let them Know I'm not ready and give an Estimate on when I'll be done. If they choose to wait, I gladly help. I can't stop my grind to help strangers.

It's petty but you spam me with invites and are rude. It's the little things that make my day. 2 characters are 32 and the other is 31, just need shards for the 31

I don't really get that much with my lvl 31 hunter. However I get harassed a lot when I'm using my lvl 30 warlock who happens to be a female. It's insane how much she gets harassed.

Just ignore then and get out of the tower. Remember when I was 31 in the first 2 days of dlc and had a bunch of 29s and 30s ask me to join up.

I usually respond by asking what they want to do. Some people don't reply while others reply with a vague response not telling me exactly what they want to do (I usually inspect them and find out its two lowbies who want a 31 to carry them through Nightfall). I know its a pain in the dick to type a message on PSN with the controller but until Bungie adds a Tower Chat voice channel, I only ever consider joining if someone includes a message in the invite explaining what they want to do. Just like OP, most times I'm in the tower its cause I am turning in bounties for Vanguard/ Eris reputation or to re-level a v2 Exotic.

When there was only VoG and people needed help and I was 30.. I just equip all my green armor and drop back to 20. Same thing applies now! Level 32 now still 20 in the tower

Same mate level 30 happy plodding on by myself. I also get random invites when visiting the tower. No message nothing just an invite that's kinda annoying to say the least

Keep some blue armor and equip it when in the tower. Lvl 31? Nope, lvl 24 suckers!

As someone who is one raid away from 32, I feel like I should be afraid.
