All aboard the new hype train

More console uploaded a pic to Twitter showing what seems to be a briefing relating to future DLC. He did not state a source so I had a peek for one. This is what I found http://segmentnext.com/2015/01/02/destiny-comet-vex-forge-god-future-dlcs/ ALL ABOARD THE POLAR EXPRESS.... oops.... I mean HYPE TRAIN!!!!!!! That is a butt load of content, I see new classes and weapon types mentioned, can anybody clean the image up? I am giving it a shot also

Okay, after looking at it and being told about the Activision-Bungie Contract, this seems absolutely legit. Looking at the picture I can acually make some of it out, though I may be wrong. Feel free to correct. Destiny: Destiny Destinations: Cosmo, Moon, Venus, Mars Activities: 20 (right?) missions, 6 strikes, 7 public events, 4 patrols, 1 raid, 10 PvP maps (right?) Expansion 1: The Dark Below Destinations: Cosmo, Moon, Mars (is that the PS exclusive strike? I dont remember Mars...) Activities: 4 missions (could be 3 but it seems they might be counting the Urn mission?), 2 strikes, 1 raid, 3 PvP maps Expansion 2: House of Wolves Destinations: Cosmo, Moon, Venus, Reef Activities: 3 missions, 1 strike, 1 raid, 4 PvP maps Comet: Plague of Darkness (right?) Destinations: Moon, Venus, Mars, Hive Ship Activities: 10 missions. 4 strikes, 1 public event, 1 patrol, 1 raid, 6 PvP maps (maybe 8) Expansion 3: Vex ... (God? Sun? Too? I really don't know) Destinations: Venus, Mars Activities: 4 missions, 2 strikes, 1 raid, (I'm sure there are PvP maps but it's blocked) Expansions 4: Forge of Gods Destinations: Unknown Activities: Unknown Investment: New player builds: New player ...: (weapon classes?) Game Level Cap (cap is assumed): The only numbers available are under the Comet expansion. Those are: New player builds: 3(?) New player weapon classes: 3(?) Game Level Cap: 50 (looks to be 30, but since we passed that I am bumping it up to the next possible number [doesn't look like a 4]). Please, correct anything you guys can see better than me, I don't have the best vision and the picture itself is shit quality, but I believe I got most of it right. Hopefully this information will be fine until someone manages to clean up the picture, if it's even possible.

    • That image is from about a year and a half ago. It was part of an explanation for how destiny would be distributed. Seems most have forgotten about it. It was first posted after their initial full reveal.

      • This matters very little compared to the fallout 4 hype train.

        • Assuming that the image is still current (which is a big assumption right now), the existence of the Comet is still the biggest news, in my opinion. From a marketing point of view, it makes perfect sense. The DLC is holdover content until the larger expansion takes place, and that expansion is right between the release of the original game and whatever Destiny 2 will ultimately be. At the very least, it jibes with what was in the released contract, still. Am going to be very curious about the pricing model. Can see it going down one of two ways. The obvious way would be that it is a for-cost release at a yet-to-be-determined price point. From a marketing perspective, though, to increase player count and start to build hype for Destiny 2, I could also see it being free - with a catch. They could make it free, but give it a prerequisite of both TDB and HoW. I honestly would not be surprised if they did that, because they could possibly stand to make more money doing it that way. It could also open up a door for them to release a player's choice/platinum/limited/whatever edition around that point that includes the base game and DLC, to get a secondary boost of potential players. However they go about it, it should shed some insight as to what we can expect on how they will do this for future iterations of the game, as well. On a personal note, I am definitely looking forward to it. The new Patrol in the Comet is probably the most intriguing thing to me, right now. Would love for that to be a new destination on Earth, such as the European Darkness Zone, Mumbai Push, Eastern Flood Zone, or Old Chicago. Considering that we have yet to see them revisit the reawakening of the Traveler, and there are, tentatively and theoretically, 12 story missions in the Comet, perhaps that is where that story line resumes?

              • The comet looks like its gonna be pretty good and cost $30-$40. I guess when people whine about having to buy it, we need to come up with a new list of things one can buy for the cost of the dlc.

              • LOL!!! COMET is Destiny 2... Look at it, it is a game cover the others are the expansion to D2, which is opposite of what activision said it wanted, but hey 2 instead of 1 is good.

                      • I doubt that's completely accurate, it's implying comet to be d2 which is just upsetting to think. Destiny shouldn't be an annual game with two weak dlc in between each installment, it should be expansion pass: a&b expansion pass: c&d expansion pass: e&f and so on. Besides that if it's truly just dlc dlc expansion dlc dlc expansion, I'm ok with that too. a single expansion being around 35$ seems fair, same price as two dlc. Also if that is d2 go to gamestop, the day a game is announced even without a date, you can pre-order it. That's a quick way to check the legitimacy of this information.

                        • Comet has been known for a while. Its basically a massive dlc. Its like destiny 1.5. They pretty much said comet will come out every odd year (2015) while a new destiny game would come out every even year (2016)

                        • I love the typo in that article. He said house of "cards" is to release in March. Politics and Kevin spacey are coming to destiny? That could be interesting lol

                            • Absolutely don't believe this yet. Would be -blam!-ing awesome, but it sounds too good to be true. New subclasses? 12 missions?! I'd love to see this unfold. New raid would always be good though.
