So I was on Twitch tv this one time and found this Destiny stream where a hunter was annihilating with Thorn in PVP, I asked him about his set up and it turned out he's using a keyboard and mouse. How is this set up fair for people using a controller?
Btw here's the stream: http://www.twitch.tv/vibez87
HERE'S WHAT"S CONSIDERED A BANNABLE OFFENSE PLEASE READ:
http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929
It states that things like modified console hardware (like an adapter) is banned.
Edit: every PC gamer knows keyboard and mouse is superior to controllers. That's why it's an unfair advantage, and to allow it where the majority is clearly expecting the other player to be using a controller when that is not the case is just deceitful.
Edit: crap like this don't even hurt me. It hurts the game and it's longetivity, no one wants to play a game that people can exploit freely whether it's PVE or PVP. So, if you don't agree, it doesn't matter soon this game will just be an afterthought
Proof: http://www.rahulsood.com/2010/07/console-gamers-get-killed-against-pc.html?m=1
Proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Llyw5xRayaQ
Edit: a lot of people think this is about using K+M. It is not. It is about using it in PvP against the average controller user. It is a huge advantage. No one is saying the best console player can't stand toe to toe with a K+M user but your average controller user will definitely lose most of the times.
All the cry baby KBM wannabes in this thread are trying to justify their bad behavior. If Destiny PVP is so inconsequential then why would you spend hundreds of dollars to get the a KBM set up. Ooh that bit of cognitive dissonance got you huh . Birds of the same feather flock together and it seems all the scumbag cheaters of Destiny have come to the aid of their king
So this is what Vibez think of people who refuse to spend the money so they can get on his level.
Yes maybe if it was actual PC gaming, it would, but since my turn rate is limited exactly the same as controller and I am stuck at 30 FPS with the rest of you peasants, your comparisons don't mean shit!
Stop trying to act like you know what you are talking about please, it is embarrassing for us all
Does my method of enjoyment really cause you so much pain?
If it's not to your liking why don't you play another FPS game title on the PC with others who have the same set up instead of picking in controller users who you have an unfair advantage against
Facts: Keyboard + mouse is not a supported device you have to purchase an adapter on his case it's the Xim which costs about $124. You use a smartphone to configure settings. You can make any excuse you want but this sounds like modding to me
This has nothing to do with your preferences but rather your need to be noticed on this game for all the wrong reasons.
Til the time keyboard and mouse become standard devices on consoles, hooking it up so you can demolish players using controllers in the Crucible to feed your ego or some sense of having achieved something is plain dick-ish and considered cheating. If anyone can make any coherent counter argument then make it. Having the "opportunity" to buy it isn't a counter argument since I'm sure most people are either reluctant to spend their hard earned money so they can compete with scums like you, and most are even naive that such devices actually exist. Saying Scuf controllers are allowed isn't a legitimate reason either because these are still in essence controllers with extra buttons, if you can't grasp the concept of the difference between aiming with a joystick on a controller and aiming a mouse then that's your bad.
This argument could be so easily resolved if only Bungie could make a statement on their stance in the subject. If they say it's allowed to attach said adapter to the system then I'll concede.
Within the language of the advertisement for a KBM adapter it states that the adapter is:
"Undetectable
With most modded controllers it’s possible to be detected using a mods or rapider fire online; then you could find yourself banned. That’s no fun. This can be an annoying and frustrating nuisance with most modded controllers. However, the manufacturers of Titan One have said that their device cannot be detected online and that it’s completely invisible."
EVEN IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THESE ADAPTERS IT DECLARES THAT THESE DEVICES ARE BANNABLE OFFENSE
I believe we're finish here.

I love how people are getting so triggered about this post. You guys remember that scene from Indiana Jones where he shoots the guy with the sword? The gun is K&M and the sword is controller. Keyboard and mouse have better aiming, faster aiming, easier keys to reach, and therefore more keystrokes can be made. To all the baby's who claim they aren't cheating, you are right, but you also problably tea bag after "out playing" someone while using a more superior input device.
-
I use a stock dualshock. This is the whiners shit I've ever read and that's saying a lot in destiny forums. I think it's because you spent so much time and effort trashing some guy who was streaming. Calling it explotative is a joke and it sounds like your elo probably is too.

Alright, this is pretty bullshit. Using K&M on a console doesnt give you an advantage at all. It just improves certain gaming characteristics and fails on other factors. 1. Senstivity... Yes, KnM destroy controllers, but only on PC. And thats due to mouse acceleration. A feature that doesnt occur on console. If you ever plug a controller into a pc and play (For example) COD. Trying to aim with that controller is so different from what it would be on console. Thats because every games input systems change between the two. PC and Console have their two own input calculations. And its like many people bring up, you have turning speed which is capped on console because of the lack of mouse acceleration.... 2. Aim Assist... Alright, so we all know the lethal aim assist systems in console games. Whether thats target acquisition or target tracking (Difference between pressing aim, and following the target with the joystick) When you play a game with KnM and aim assist exists. I guarantee you that you wont be able to snap on a target for shit, and thats because you have natural instinct to snap towards a target with the mouse. This just doesnt occur with a joystick. Hence why AA is a thing on console.... Even more annoyingly is that most console games dont let you turn multiplayer AA off... Which means youre probably going to be screwing yourself up alot with target acquisition... If you can target snap with mouse on Console mechanics... Kudos to you... 3. Motion... This is seen best in car racing games. So im going to be using them as an example (Mind you, people with hair triggered controllers experience this with sparrows so....) On a controller, you have about 4-5 mm of input space on all sides. Take into account the circular expansion and that becomes about 30 odd mm of input space from side to side. Point is, you push that stick 1mm, and you creep along. Push it all the way, and you run along. On a keyboard, keys arent pressure sensitive (And neither was that x button on the ps2...... (GT fanatics will know what i mean)Meaning if you push the key, there is only two possibilities. No input, or full input.... Meaning youre not moving at all, or your -blam!-ing sprinting. (Games like RB6 siege, this becomes apparent) 4. So to use KnM on console means you lose out on all above, and the only advantage you get, is slight increase in accuracy and recoil control (Depending on your game) ONCE youre used to the console mechanic and hotkeys. The reason i love keyboard so much more, is the option to have so many more options. And control it all with one hand. But the most that helps in destiny, is a titan skate here. A few jumps there. Otherwise even hotkeys arent useful in many games. The last point have to make on the argument. Is the amount of people that dont have the money to buy themselves beefy pc's, or the amount of games that pc just doesnt get, that they still wish to play. I have a mate who loves destiny, but no lifes on pc 100% of the time. So playing on console with a controller, hes at a disadvantage. For him, getting KnM would even the odds. Srsly... Considering the devices available now, including the fact that both sony and microsoft officially licence modded controllers now (Or in microsofts case, makes them) KnM isnt really that big of a deal....Oh and the fact that Sony has their own adapter, and Microsoft funds particular groups. Suggests that its something they're happy for their player base to do. And Bungie knows this, and more often then not, they're sandboxes are played with KnM's.... Just consider all this before complaining about it. You're really not at an advantage or disadvantage. Its just a change of traits that improve one thing but ruin another....(for those that know more then i do about all this)(I dumbed it really down so that this wouldnt be an essay)

I actually can't even get it through my head why you would even start this post, is it cause some guy you watch on twitch used a KBM and you started crying so you read the bungie ban policies and tried to ban him? You sir might be one of the most toxic person in the destiny community. Why would you want to even think about trying to ban him? Is it because he prefers KBM to a controller in terms of comfort? Get off the community cause you are just digging yourself a hole. I don't mean to be rude but people like this ruin this amazing and friendly community.
-
As a PC gamer, its unfortunate that bungie did not release this game for pc. I was forced to buy it on my xbox one and so i bought the keymapper to use my mouse and keyboard. No point in crying about it, as we arent breaking any rules.
-
Ive played a thousand times against someone with KBM. Not a big deal to me. They do not destroy me. I personally don't use one. As far as the argument goes, mostly the pro KBM people make the most sense here. The rest seem to be merely using it as an excuse of why you suck. BTW Sony HAS OFFICIALLY LICENSED KBM set ups. ( http://www.dexerto.com/news/2016/08/16/playstation-advertise-mouse-keyboard/ ) I read all the posts here and not a single one of you butt hurt monkey makes a valid point unless the controller is using rapid fire.
-
Why don't you bring up the Scuff controllers or Elite controllers? Those essentially are doing the same thing. You are able to adjust the height of the sticks, button layouts, trigger pull lengths, etc. Just because something isn't 100% supported doesn't mean it should be illegal to use or should be considered cheating. It's like going to the gas station and buying a cord for your phone. The phone company wouldn't recommend you use that cord to charge it, but you do anyways. You are not going to go from a negative k/d to all of a sudden 10.0 k/d. There is still a high level of skill involved. I think it is all about personal preference here. I personally have both an elite controller and a xim4. I don't feel much advantages of MKB setup over elite other than aiming. In fact, movement speed is very difficult to adjust on MKB. There is no varying degree of a "W" press where the sticks can move slightly and allow for precise movements. Like I said, I believe it's personal preference.

I recently nearly cut off my right thumb, is was hanging on by about 1 inch of skin, but the bone and nerves were lost, it is re attached and healed up nicely, except the fact that i cannot feel anything with it. so there goes my console gaming out the window. until i discovered these adapters, and i have been researching beyond reason to make sure its not a scam. and i finally bought one, waiting on it to ship here as i write this comment. So, you are telling me, something that i PLUG into the console, WITHOUT modifying ANYTHING to do with the console, that i am modding it? so because i now and forever unable to use a controller properly again, trust me i have been trying, it isn't as easy as it may seem without 1 single finger, I am now a modder? I doesn't make me faster or better, the xbox one has its own limitations that would require real modding for me to bypass the turn speed of these games. Don't get me wrong, M/K 100% dominate controller, but on a pc game. I got to test this M/K device and let me tell you, it is absolutely not like pc. Get the hell off of your high horse, you would not know the difference in destiny's top player using a controller vs them using M/K. If anything, it will help people who have a hard time using the retarded handicap of a thumb stick, but it doesn't give the goat tit sucking super powers, just gives them more options. And let me ask you something, how do you feel about Microsoft bringing M/K support to Xbox One officially? Because it is being developed, and will probably make it to the console by spring 2017 depending on how the development goes if not earlier. and that has been confirmed.

3 Respuestas[urlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBGWtVOKTkM] I believe you need some cream for your anus to sooth this butthurt, instead of whining why do you just get a MKB and the adapter. Im proud to say I'm now converted and my adapter is in the post.... It obvious whos using these in Crucible... i'm sick of getting paggered by what I like to call ''Super Guardians' and the insane shots you see that are unexplainable.....if you can't beat em....join em! Looking forward as well to having an auto fire option to turn all my semis in autos. Mwhahahahah Lulz aside, when you get yourself absolutely panned into the ground by guardians with no skill its time to up the game really... having watched endless videos of how this does give you a HUGE advantage i'm definitely switching to MKB and im looking forward to every ounce of hate mail i get.... ah the butt hurt...is going to be fantastic #DrLupoftw

1 RespuestaNot trying to start a war but Sony actually released a K&M for the PS4 soo...
-
Its blatant cheating, just the same as lag switchers, laggers and auto-bot hackers. Like everything else, bungie wont do a thing about it. So its pointless complaining. If bungie at very least included a logo next to your name showing what everyones setup is. I.e mouse&keyboard, scuf, standard ps4, (whatever it is). Then you would at least know what your up against before the match even starts. Btw unfair advantage = cheating

1 RespuestaIt would PROBABLY help if activision didnt shit on PC gamers and not give us a pc version, If your this damn salty try it yourself. So those of us who play almost exclusively on pc, but want to play a console exclusive should be forced into a device most of us have no experience with and feels as clunky as kbm does to you guys just because of jackasses that didnt think it would sell? Sounds pretty self centered, just as self centered as us PC goers that make fun of other pc gamers that prefer controllers for games (I personaly choose whichever feels better for the induvidual game). Half my xbox friends list even said they would move on to a pc gaming (Granted only half of them would if they would be able to transfer the character, which if they use win10 stuff would be doable) Do however note that this EMULATES keyboard/mouse experience at the bottom line of it. It does not directly accept it, try playing with the sensitivity at max to see exactly how the game translates it. This self superiority from both sides is just rediculous, If Console gamers can use controllers on pc, and in some cases still be better than some KBM users, whats the problem with it reversed other than ego? If your going to take it THIS seriosly, then seriously consider just doing the same, as many others stated Sony is implimenting KBM controls for more and more games, so saying its cheating is just gonna lead into grey area bullshit from both sides. If i took the game as seriously id save up enough to spare for the exact same setup just because its what im familiar for FPS's.

3 RespuestasEditado por Korvun: 12/12/2015 9:52:27 AMFirst, it isn't against the ToS as they aren't modifying anything. If it were, then any form of customized controller (I.E. Elites or Scuf controllers) would be in violation as well, and they aren't. They also give a competitive advantage, so there's that. Every player has the ability to go out and get this setup. It may not be cost effective for every player to do so or it may not be to their advantage if they aren't used to playing with Keyboard and Mouse, but they can. Using Scuf controllers as an example is actually quite valid. These are controllers that modify existing hardware, which, according to your own post, is in violation of ToS. Adding more buttons to your controller to give you a competitive advantage is in no way different than using a Keyboard and Mouse to give you an advantage if you are simply better with them than a controller. Just because you dislike facts that invalidate your complaint doesn't make those facts less valid or incorrect. In that "advertisement" you quoted, it says using modded controllers utilizing mods for rabid fire is bannable, which it is, as they are quite clearly violating the ToS by modifying hardware. Using a keyboard and mouse does not modify any hardware. It is simply another form of controller that players have every option to use. If you believe it is perfectly fine to add buttons to a controller (Scuf) then your stance that using a Keyboard and Mouse is cheating has been invalidated. Also, just because you believe Destiny PvP is inconsequential it doesn't automatically mean you have to believe that playing Destiny with a Keyboard and Mouse wouldn't increase your enjoy-ability, thus invalidating the purchase. This game is a little bit more than the PvP scene and I for one can tell you that I would enjoy it a bit better if I had a keyboard and mouse at my disposal. Oh, that means your attempt at 'smart talk' (cognitive dissonance) was as much of a failure as the rest of your post. I believe NOW we're done here.

2 RespuestasCheating. You're not allowed to use it for MLG events for example. It's also not how the console game was meant to be played

Editado por Ancalagon1421: 11/4/2015 5:22:23 PMIn my opinion, because Sony allows the use of KB&M its not illegal so its not cheating but it does offer an unfair advantage...though when i see things like this from the Cronusmax.com mouse and keyboard control page: "it’s the first truly ultimate all-in-one wireless controller modding device." (http://cronusmax.com/precision-mouse-keyboard-control/) I feel the need to call the use of products like this cheating. i have not been able to find statements similar to this on the XIM4 website though that one requires the use of a smart phone to modify the settings, which to me sounds like a grey area; if its questionable then its probably cheating. EDIT: interesting article from Forbes about upcoming KB&M for PS4: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/07/27/the-ps4-is-getting-its-own-mouse-and-keyboard-but-not-from-sony/
-
Cheating in the worst of ways. I've been playing fps for about 15 years, was even recruited to play pro. I stopped playing on PC because of the constant cheating, if people think that KB users aren't cheating, if they are willing to go that far, they will go as far as loading software on their PS4 and Xbox to give you superior aim assist bots. Reason why I stopped playing on PC was that it became the norm, I also have come across auto assist bots on latter versions of the console as well though not nearly as often as in the PC world.

the fix is to get better at pvp
-
Umm yeah that's why they use it, asshats...

1 Respuestahere's my thought of these scrubs...... people who use K&M they suck at console with controllers, they are just some mediocre players, nothing but certainly nothing special. and if they play on pc they get there asses kicked to pluto.... so they think, but heeeeye, what if i use the K&M on my console... that's like cheating and nobody can find out!!! (it's the most evil crime i can think off muwhahahahahaha)...... and they still get there asses kicked from time to time... people that need an advantage over other players are the worst kind of people that exist.. and they even brag about it to when they get good k\d.. cheaters are assholesm, have no pride, have no skill, have no fun...... and they get real bitchy when you kill them.
-
2 RespuestasHave you tryed a controller on a PC? Zero to almost no aim assist, you won't hit any thing. what do you think is more persise (probably spelled wrong but ain't nobody got time for that!) an entire hand moving the cursor freely or a single thumb moving the cursor along the x and y?
-
1 RespuestaEditado por InvertedCat: 9/6/2015 3:48:57 AMI don't use kbm input but I have to argue that some people have disabilities (I know I know that's an exception) and they use modified controllers because they can't use regular controllers. Then one can also argue that scuf controllers would be cheating. I don't mind either way. I feel the argument is biased in most cases because a lot of people simply don't want to spend the money on the adapter or in younger players cases their parents won't buy it for them. Since it's not easily accessible a lot of people see it as an unfair advantage. If everyone had access to it I think more people would support it.
-
i don't care. use whatever you're comfortable with
if it's so op go use a keyboard
-
Cheating
-
2 RespuestasIt's cheating on consoles since 1)Mouse and keyboard is more accurate, plus you have aim assist 2)it's a modification of hardware/software
-
No matter what input device you use, I'd think so long as you don't have any buttons modded to a turbo-fire function or something along that line, it really should not matter.
-
2 RespuestasHalf the people in this thread define cheating as : "Abusing something that other players don't have access to" Well in all honesty, -blam!- whoever uses thorn in PVP, because I just can't seem to get an exotic bounty to save my life.... So I guess everyone abusing thorn is cheating? It's easier to get a damn XIM for 100$ than it is to pray to RNGEEZUS for a thorn....
