Every Tuesday there are more than a handful of posts in the #help section from people who play through the weekly reset and subsequently run into issues where they don't receive rewards from the Nightfall, Weekly, raids, etc.
I propose the introduction of global warning messages leading up to the specified reset time. They would say something along the lines of: "Hey finish up that important thing you're doing because the servers are going down for 5 minutes to reset for the week. Feel free to log right back in!".
Basically.. force people to logout/login during weekly reset to completely avoid the issues I've seen others dealing with since this game came out.
The issue I see people are having with the current system:
Dealing with server resets are always a tricky subject and can get messy if not handled properly. That meaning, by playing through the reset some things (likely their server "stuff") did successfully reset, while other things (likely your account/character specific "stuff") that require re-login after the reset were unsuccessful or never happened. That creates two different and conflicting "states" of data which is why it appears the reset happened while you were still logged on, but in actuality it was only partially done.
What do you all think about this idea?
Are there any problems you can foresee if this were implemented? Are there any holes in my reasoning that I should correct or any aspects I should also consider?

2 RespuestasWhy would you wait till the last day to do the nightfall anyway ? It's the first thing I do every Tuesday. Everything after that is 25% more XP.

2 RespuestasDestiny force logs you out against your will too much as it is with their stupid error messages. And the bounty reset happens at the same time for everyone in the US (idk about over seas) so while a forced logout at 4am for the east coast doesn't seem like a big deal a midnight forced logout for Hawaii every single night would really ruin the game for people that always play at that time.

7 RespuestasMaybe. I think that in "theory" if they even did a "public realm" per say to try new ideas out and grabbed at random some of the vets from destiny to get feedback on new ideas/content before they added to the game to help eliminate some of the bugs found with new additions, actually see how people react to new ideas. Such different when things are on paper compared to any sort of implementation. But it comes down to a whole bunch of people being pissed off that we got a "incomplete game" yet have hundreds of hours of game play, still play, ect. Many people don't understand the limitations of having old gen/new gen. I do agree with the timer for server reset. It would eliminate a lot of issues for sure. But you will have a divided community when it comes down to it........

3 RespuestasI say it's completely fair. My issue though is people playing tower during the reset who are doubling bounties. This should get patched ASAP.

2 RespuestasI agree. Sometimes when throwing a long late night session in I forget that it's going to happen. I play a few different MMO's that have a 15 min warning that counts down, then forces you out. Think it would help with the issues, but then people would batch that they can't glitch bounties and such......Most ideas I read here are great and would add some new to the game but it's all a catch 22. Fix one thing that will piss off others. Bungie is fighting a battle they can't win.

1 RespuestaYes, good games do this. An example of this is Eve Online, a space based mmo. That game warns the user an hour before, then half hour, etc, until the last few minutes where a counter stays on screen, until the game goes down for maintainance.
