I understand that you feel like Bungie ripped you off, I really do. You expected more, however, from a market standpoint Destiny's content is comparable in value to any other game. Let's use another high profile shooter COD:AW as an example to compare DLC. You get 4 multiplayer maps for 15 bucks which equals to roughly $3.75 a map. Destiny, love or hate them has 3 maps for PVP, which by market standards adds up to $11.25. I would say that the Raid is equal to 3 maps because it features 3 zones, but I anticipate that you will argue about that, so let's say 2 maps which is a total now of 18.75. Now, just to be super fair, I'll add up the total zones from all the story missions and strikes as 1 mission!!! We are now, including new weapons and armor at $22.50 at current market value for DLC.
I'm not going to name call or try to make you feel stupid, however, I am going to question why it is that you specifically point out destiny when you know that the amount of content included in the DLC was comparable to other games? Furthermore, why does the entire game and community share your opinion? If I had to speculate, I'd say that this is all a behind-the-scenes corporate battle between Sony and Microsoft with you tagging along with all the media filled headlines, ready to parrot anything said that continues your victim narrative(all the while calling anyone who doesn't agree with you and actually enjoys the game, a Bungie fanboy).
I'm not advocating not criticizing Destiny. In fact, at launch I agreed with many of the criticisms and feel as though the game has been made better because of them. I say to the community who has issues with the game but likes it, to have temperance when criticizing the game so that Bungie doesn't have to dig through a million of the same responses/feedback. Feedback that is predictable, and often not true or accurate in any sense.

4 RespuestasPerhaps, what they offered was fair value, but they promised so much more. I, like everyone else, were expecting an expansion, not vanilla DLC.

1 RespuestaEditado por Matu Flp Krawfe: 12/27/2014 7:16:26 PMItemization can justify anything because it ignores context. A simple question here is "is the Dark Below adding content comparable to mainstream AAA DLC?" No, it isn't and from the relatively straight-forward standpoint that its trying to supplement a deficient product rather than compliment an acceptable one. Ergo, its much more difficult to justify on subjective terms (which after all is what we use to justify expenses) since the same money could be spent on some alternative product which is better able to capitalize on more content (Borderlands, Titanfall, Sins of a Solar Empire, whatever floats your boat). Therefore, make it cheaper in order to compensate for the relative lack of quality (if not in itself then for the core game). A relatively straight forward point that and while it is after all a personal one, it is VERY accurate to the situation at hand.

4 RespuestasOkay, I'm not here to say it was a terrible value. I did buy the season pass, but I kinda regret that now. But, I would like to point out that you are comparing the Destiny DLC to DLC from another Activision game, CoD. Using CoD as an example of reasonably priced DLC is not a good argument from where I stand. I don't buy CoD DLC because its ridiculous to pay $15 for 4 maps. That is a terrible value. Destiny's DLC is an okay value in my book especially considering the lack of "meat" and content to the game itself. Bungie could've used the DLC to expand the storyline much further and make the DLC something that was truly incredible. They sadly passed on the opportunity to make something truly enjoyable to make money.

More work went in to the cgi advertisements than the dlc unfortunately

Bare in mind that you're comparing the price between 2 games that have the same publisher, the prices are going to be near enough the same.

Editado por Lost Sols: 12/27/2014 8:27:54 PMUnless you raid, it was the biggest -blam!-ing ripoff of the year. 3 bad missions. I've played exactly one of them twice, a strike that I've yet to have come up in a RoC playlist and Eris bounties to grind rep for -blam!-ing ever to buy synthesis and upgrade mats if you raid. Seeing as probably 15% of players raid and 95% of non-raiders daily content is pre-dlc... It was a bullshit "expansion" that they -blam!-ed people over to force them to buy.

1 RespuestaDoesn't matter if it's in a same value as another other game company bracket. There are intentional evidence without admitting from BUNGIE that we didn't get what was suppose to come in launch. Value of money is different then value of game. We strive for story Multiplayer Good servers Memories with friends Good replay value. All of those were only met by 40%. Why do you think everyone that has reviewed the game and DLC was a 6/10 or even lower? Because of Bungie not meeting there exact goals within the companies Moral code. Can't blame everything on bungie though Activision did diverse money in their face and has controlled the company. Why? Because of money....and lies to the consumer. Defect wasn't a problem the game worked fine but just not the servers.... Apprantly it's hard to keep a game adjusted with 500+ million bucks in there pocket.

Hardest thing for me is being 24 I equate the time/money ratio to how much id spend at the bar and destiny equals out to like 3 nights out on the town versus the 193 hours i have in destiny

Editado por stratasaurus: 12/27/2014 9:01:10 PMI do not have a problem with the content but to say it was worth 20 bucks is to say that it was worth a third of a full game at full retail price. There was not an extra 33% of content

10 RespuestasIt's good value for money unless you are from the UK.
-
1 RespuestaBump bump sir.. Good post and I agree
-
7 RespuestasNope, it isn't acceptable value when US citizens pay $20 and those in the UK pay $31+ for the same software.
-
7 RespuestasIts an expansion not DLC. Two different concepts.
-
CDAW multiplayer maps and Destiny's multiplayer maps are quite different. Destiny doesn't really have large vehicular maps.
-
1 RespuestaI thought I was the only one who thinks the dlc was worth $20. Well worded post.

Bump Agree! We can also bring our weapons and armor to future games! Becoming Legend
