Just wondering. Cause I always see get CoD name dropped when it comes to skill, balance and whatnot.

Four words. Return to castle wolfenstein. That was one of the last really competitive fps for me. I'll include enemy territory in that as well. Dat beach stage though. It was honestly the most fun I've ever had gaming. Modern warfare 2 was fun as hell with the killstreaks. But that really just meant getting up to a harrier then hiding to get your chopper gunner. Then NUKE!!

I played a ton of CoD from BO1 through Ghosts, but passed on AW this year due to having Destiny. Crucible needs better rewards to sustain interest (even new emblems would be cool), but the gameplay itself is more enjoyable and probably more competitive than CoD. The always on radar, along with the lack of persistent placed explosives (like IEDs or bouncing betties) is a big part of this. In CoD you could be doing everything right and still get blown up by a random bomb or taken out by a corner camper with Ghost and Cold Blooded perks. There'd be a lot of times in CoD where I'd die and be like, "Well, FML." Whereas in Destiny, every death I suffer I can usually say, "Okay, that's what I did wrong there." Except for getting nailed by an unexpected Super; but I think Supers and CoD killstreaks are basically a wash. (If you played BO2, how many times were you knocked off a killstreak by a random hunter-killer drone?)

Editado por Slevi: 12/28/2014 1:35:05 PMI think COD is better. Personally I hate the "always on radar", its game breaking for me. No fun in trying to back stab an enemy or trying to kill 3+ guys by flanking. This game is a super fest. Initially, destiny PvP starts off normally for the first 2-3 mins. After 3 mins, everyone has their super and it just becomes wave after wave of supers. Really kills the fun. Honestly, I would play the hell out of destiny PvP if they got rid of the radar, up the player count and bigger maps. However, this is a bungie game and not a battlefield game. So this will not happen anytime soon.

8 RespuestasCOD requires significantly less skill. It's about OP weapons, ridiculous skill streaks, and that's it. Outside of who shot first. Destiny doesn't need anything to balance it. Everything works as it should. Learn to use and manipulate the radar. Learn to use guns better suited to your play style. Oh, and use weapons good for the map you're on and that compliment each other's weaknesses. supers aren't OP, everyone gets them, and max out at 4 kills on a good day. Play the objective. Learn maps and spawns habits. Heavy ammo is your friend. Precision shots actually matter for both players. It's not about who shot first. There's time to react and fight back. If you want a purely skill based game, play Halo. But Destiny is much more skill based than CoD.

Why are all your replies you being a prick? Chill out
-
Cod is a joke and destiny pvp is worse no skill needed for either game
-
2 RespuestasI watched my 7 year old cousin go on a 25 kill streak on cod and win the game by far. I let him try Destiny and he got two kills. Both with rockets
-
There are definitely skill based elements, but overall there's various sailboat tactics that lessen the skill gap. Like the weak Titan class, or the simple ease of fusion rifles, which require no skill at all to get flawless kills, or just Arc blade. Pure and simple. That is not to say that CoD is BALANCED in any way, far from it. It's not an if/then situation. But I think that Skill can compete with Cheese builds in Destiny, which is nice.

8 RespuestasNope destiny Pvp is not skillful nor competitive. They need more "hardcore" types of playlist for it to be considered that. I'm talking something like no super, no radar etc etc. Put everyone on even ground and then battle it out.

for anyone on here who loves pop but hates dog shit teammates check out the link, forming group where everyone has a kd of 2.0 or above. were gonna be kicking ass!

1 RespuestaLol CoD is a joke. Always has been

Cod is too laggy for me to play it.

"Skill" is a term that everyone has a different opinion about. Most players (mainly hardcore Halo players) associate "skill" with longer kill times because of strafing and sustained gun accuracy and stuff like that. And they insult Call of Duty because it is more of a whoever sees the other person first wins, kind of game, for the most part. But that is a skill too. It comes down to positioning and routes that you take instead of just pure gun skills. Not that positioning and routes aren't important in Halo, because they are, but they aren't AS important because in the end it comes down to shooting. I could be the smartest player in the world on Halo but if it comes down to a BR duel, and the other guy plays the game twice as much as I do, he is most likely going to have the better gun skills and is going to win the BR duel. Halo is more of a muscle memory game. Destiny lies halfway between Halo and Call of Duty. It has aim down sights like Call of Duty, has kill times halfway between the two games, and then has radar and strafing like Halo. So it all depends on what your definition of "skill" is.

5 RespuestasThere is no competitive games out. they killed competition after halo 3! everyone can get to the highest lvl just by playing enough, you don't even have to be good.
-
5 RespuestasMe. CoD is a twitch fest. The higher TTKs on Destiny = more skill required.
-
That's not saying much lol
-
as a competitive gamer since Unreal, I believe if you have a 2.0+, you know what to do in this game.
-
Cod is much faster paced but when inferno mode comes out (no supers) I'm not sure.

1 RespuestaCS:GO Nuff said

Cod doesn't take a lot of talent. I won 4 trophies between two gamebattles accounts and I barely played cod. Halo took the most talent and brain power on console to date. H2 HXC and H3 MLG

yea agreed

More skillfull, yes...more balanced, probably not! Accuracy has much more of an effect on the outcome of a gunfight as even if you shoot first you may not get the kill if they turn around and headshot you when you're shooting at his legs! In CoD anyone can get 5-10 kills in 10 mins due to TTK and the fact the radar doesn't show everyone so sitting in corners unknown is easier. Whereas in destiny most kills (with a gun) require more skill than the other person to get it! However in CoD everyone is the same and so have a reasonably level playing field apart from different guns and in destiny supers and OHK weapons are plenty and used often (after I just said kills require more skill -.-) so any confrontation can go either way!
-
Any game is more competitive then cod. Cod is just running around like headless chickens. The game is so easy 5 year olds can play it.... Oh wait they already do.

It has nothing to do with the game itself. It has everything to do with the players. CoD pulls in more of a multiplayer audience than Destiny does. That's why people coming from CoD are having an easier time in Destiny. It's not like if you took twelve people out of a CoD match and dropped those twelve people into a Destiny match everyone would start doing better. Someone has to be killed for someone else to get a kill. Your skill is relative to your opponents.
