Spent 23 Motes of light for Exotic helmet engram and this is what I get!?
I know you might say "Nothing can be done" but for gods sake it took me a long time to collect the motes and I finally can afford something from Xur. After decoding the engram I receive a helmet for a Hunter. I've only ever used a Warlock so this has not only become useless, I can't get my motes back. I can prove this with a screen shot. I am sure I can't be the first one with this issue but I can tell you this made my experience take a turn for the worst.

I bought 17 engrams in total and I've have gotten two titan helms and every warlock helm and hunter helm at at least twice and the day I bought 6 I got 3 straight mask of the man so rng doesn't like me either but I ain't mad just have to remake the warlock after I get my Titan to 32

How long does it take to get 23 motes? I usually have enough for an engram in like 5 days. Here's a tip, don't buy engrams if you aren't prepared to get something you can't use. The only reason I buy them is becuase I have one of every class, and with the exotic reset it's an easy way to upgrade all my helms.

Dismantle or start a hunter. What's the big deal? The exotic shard you get from dismantling is worth the motes of light alone. And it's an engram, destiny's equivalent of gambling.

I bought two this week both were the new helmet he sold for Titans last week. I use a warlock for main and a hunter as my alt. I have been getting lots in Titan lately tho.

Do people think they're guaranteed to get an exotic for their class or something? It clearly says random class. If anything you got an exotic shard out of it.

Yeah, I got Aclyophage Symbiote and I had my original character, a Titan, and two Warlocks because a never made a plan for my Hunter. It finally gave me an excuse to delete my second Warlock.

Welcome to Destiny! Don't worry, you'll have plenty of motes again in no time. Ignore 50% of these posts :-) As many have said, playing one of each class will lessen the blow considerably

i bought 8 engrams this weekend.... only 2 were warlock when i was on a warlock so 25% ....

I guess you forgot what RNG stands for. Random number generator. Keyword: Random. My advice? Just create a Hunter class. I got several legendary pieces that were good for a Titan and Hunter. Both weren't my main class. So what I do? Put the items in vault, made the class and ouila, leveled up fast after I hit 20. In my perspective, its good to have all three class anyway. Just to have different angles to combat the darkness with. Different gameplay styles (I restrict my classes to certain weapons, though I do love my ARs) and to help grimoire score

Welcome to destiny sir I bought 6 helmets last week. I wanted a hunter helmet. I got 5 titan and 1 warlock. Dismantled 5 kept one for my warlock.

You have three options: 1. Make a hunter 2. Dismantle the helmet to get an exotic shard 3. Trade in/uninstall the game because there are far worse things that can happen than this

Lol, when I first hit 20 and had my 23 notes ready I was very excited. Got the helm engram and bang! Warlock helm! I was a hunter but then made a warlock and a Titan.

The last 4-5 exotic engram's I've decoded have been one of two helms, either the skullfort (useless even to my titan) and the symbiote (don't have a hunter). Be glad you're using motes of light to get exotic shards and not 7 coins.

If you don't make one of each you can't say you've fully experienced the game imo. You've joined the millions of other guardians who got stuff from Rahool that wasn't for their main class. Congrats.

You do realise the exotic engram is for a "random class" Maybe you should have read that before you chose to spend your motes of light. On the other hand, why not make a hunter?
