All I hear is people complaining about how the new DLC makes everything completely useless, you've obviously never played WoW. Raid gear in WoW is made useless by average gear after every expansion, even heroic raid drops can be beat by new quest reward. That's how endgame works. I don't see how people expect a game to progress when you want the level cap to stick to its original standard and weapons and armor to be their standard as well. Games change, weapons get better, and things become worthless, just be happy they made exotics upgradable(never happens in WoW) and that we're not paying for a monthly subscription to play Destiny.
Edit: 100 comments in 30 minutes. Damn, you guys feel really strongly about this, and to those saying WoW is a bad comparison for FPS reason, I never played other MMOFPS's so I can't really give a valid opinion of those compared to destiny, but if you have please share in the comments.

Editado por RagingPheonix00: 12/19/2014 7:35:57 AMWell considering that Destiny is no where near WOW, completly different ballfield. In sone games when they release the cap they give you the option to re-farm weapons at the higher level. Borderlands 1.and 2 to be an example. Weapons have a uniqueness to themselves, yeah new raid will have different versions of the same reskined weapons. Why not bring them all up to the standard. In most gam e s dlc brings new unique weapons to the table, not leave the others behind. This game will have nothing compared to the sandhawk. For those that think this an MMO, whatever, its an fpsrpg. And there are those that think raising the atk of the previous raid weapons will make the raid to easy remember the false difficulty this game has by dumbing the weapons and gear down to be on par with the level of the area. Your enemies will still be bullet spounges because the mechanics will not allow you to be to over powered for the sake of lower level players, a level 32 atk will still do the damage of a level 26 and 30 respectivly in vog.

I remember expansions in wow adding more than one small quest line, one dungeon and one raid.

4 RespuestasPeople who say obsoleted gear is a feature of MMOs like WoW are mistaken. When WoW releases new content – in large expansions on 12-18 month cycles – they make the previous top-tier gear important for getting the new top-tier gear. Good MMOs have progression. You’re earning the ability to beat the next adventure. What Destiny is doing is repeatedly creating a blank slate. You don’t need any of the level 30 armor or weapons to reach 31 – they’re actually a detriment because you could have saved your upgrade materials for 31 gear. Casuals get a nearly free ticket and dedicated players see their work washed away within weeks. DeeJ wrote, “Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.” I no longer trust Bungie will do that.

I have played wiw and I know the struggle....people also take destiny rng for granted..u would have killed for this loot system in wow. No competition for your gear if it dr op s....count me in.
-
I actually rather enjoy leveling new weapons and gear. What I don't enjoy is getting nothing.
-
Wow is far better dlc here is 2 levels and you can get 31 in no time, destiny 30 raod gear took lots of work and wqs totaly shit after wow atleast 60 gear lasted to 62
-
I agree. I played WOW ... I don't remember a new dlc every 3 months.

This x10000000

That's because this game is an FPS. Modern FPS games revolve around multiplayer. Raid and PvE progression in WoW and PC MMOs is so much better. As a PvE player, I play this game for fun, since the PvP is not competitive at all. Of course PvE is better in actual MMOs. The progression is so much better, the boss mechanics are actually interesting. If I wanted to play a game to be competitive, then I would go play CoD. So I play this game for fun.

Destiny is not a fpsmmo, Its a fpsrpg. Mmo stands for massive multiplayer online, the last time i checked fireteams of 3 are not massive....
-
No, I never played WoW. I'm not 12. And if you've never played any MMOFPS's why would you think that WoW mechanics/progressions are or should even be relevant to this game. Sorry, but I'm frankly sick and tired of communities trying to make all other games play like WoW. Great you think WoW is a good game. Go play it then and leave other games alone to be not-WoW.

10 RespuestasExcept, destiny isn't an mmo.

I've noticed a broad difference in opinions between PC Rpg gamers and console gamers. I'm fine with it but I like playing loot treadmill games
-
Yeah, but WoW released an expansion every 12-18 months not every 3. Destiny barely gave us time to enjoy our fully leveled gear before making us toss it to the curb.
-
I would actually compare destiny gear progression to ffxiv. Every four months or so, a new tier (or two) of gear is released, along with some new content. The former top tier is now achievable from vendors. The big difference, though, and something we might be seeing a year or so from now, is that you can still do top end content with gear 2-3 tiers below the cap.
-
Why does this game have to be like WoW? Or any other mmo for that matter? Cant they do their own thing? Hell if enough of the players think the system ought to be different, why not change it? Just because you can compare some of it to those games doesnt mean it has to mimic them. It CAN be better.

3 RespuestasThis "expansion" is more of a WoW patch. For example lets go back to Vanilla WoW. The first 40 man raid was Molten Core, later on there was a patch that released Blackwing Lair. After that patch was released you still had to do MC to get geared for BWL. Unlike here with Destiny they completely made VoG obsolete. I understand gear gets better with new content but I think Bungie should not have released the lvl 31 tower gear. Now newbies won't have to do VoG unless they want to try it but the rewards are going to be lackluster. My only gripe with the DLC besides the tower gear is the way they rehashed old content and called them "new". You are correct tho buying the dlc is like a subscription you pay every 3 months which isn't bad I just expected more from the new content.

Ya but it still takes mad long to get to a high level in wow, in this game you can hit 31, 1 level shy of max in a couple of days. This is whack, it took several months of soul crushing work to hit 30
-
No I have never played wow So if this is destiny's 10 year plan were all my hours and work turn obsolete every 3rd month, I won't stay for much longer!

Editado por Maniac Survivor: 12/18/2014 9:56:45 AMI'm sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about, let me explain to you why. 1. Wow expansions don't roll every 3 months. You get almost nothing for your grind in destiny, because new stuff is already on its way. 2. In wow you need to use your old raid gear for the new raid. This makes the grind reasonable, because you can actually use the old raid gear for the new raid. In destiny your raid gear becomes obsolete instantly. Hell, even the new vendors gear is better than the old raid gear. This makes the grind worthless and leads into disappointment.
-
Okay. I'm going to say this one more time in threads like this one. WOW DOESN'T REPLACE YOUR GEAR THREE MONTHS AFTER THE GAME/EXPANSION LAUNCHES. There. With their asinine RNG system most people only hit thirty on one character, maybe two if they were lucky. That's if they didn't constantly delete and remake it to do the raid multiple times in one week. Or create three of the same. WoW also doesn't completely neuter an old right from the get go. You still need that raid's gear to get into the new one and succeed. Also this isn't WoW. In WoW gear comes complete. There's no work needed to make it viable or great. Destiny requires a grind, and praying, to get the item AND more grinding afterwards to make it viable. This is why that comparison fails so much.
-
Ok first off it resets your progression with the gear "progression", second off WoW was AWFUL for that reason and many others
-
WoW doesn't scale EVERYTHING up to match the new DLC either though. What was the first to happen with this DLC? The weekly and the nightfall, were both scaled up to level 30 now, and we lost the level 28 version, but their rewards were given to the level 30 version. The strikeplaylists added a level 26 strike playlist now. but they took away the engram reward from level 24, and gave that away to the 26... they aren't increasing the rewards for doing it harder, they are raising the levels for less reward. Though i've never played WoW, i'm sure that game would still have some lower level areas with rewards scaled toward it, and higher level areas with rewards scaled toward that, not taking lower level rewards to give out for higher level content..

1 RespuestaEditado por CavScout00: 12/18/2014 8:15:29 PMWhy does every negative statement about this game need to be justified with some World of Warcraft bullshit. 1. WoW doesnt reset your stuff after 2 months 2. There totally different games. Its the equivalent of me saying that prestige system is OK in Halo because haven't you ever played CoD?
