Makes me wonder how this situation could have been stopped or avoided all together if Australia's citizens were able own more firearms.

2 RespuestasEditado por challengerX: 12/16/2014 10:15:44 AMThe hilarious thing here is that a man like that could've legally bought a weapon and this would be a much more common occurrence in Australia if they had gun laws like in America. Could one of the people in the cafe shot him while he was distracted if they were armed? Theoretically, yes. But we all know what sounds good on paper doesn't always work out that way in real life. The person may be too nervous and could just make things worse. Or, he could've emptied a whole mag in the terrorist's back while he was telling people to hang up those signs. The point is that we really don't know. Maybe store owners should be armed to protect their store, but otherwise, you guys act like it's only good and responsible people who will acquire firearms legally and that lunatics will not buy guns to repeat what has just happened. I'll remind you all that the grand majority of shootings in America are committed by people who have legally acquired a firearm.

It would probably be like America where you just have a bunch of school shootings , gang members killing each other, crazy ppl shooting up places because they were bullied , ect. Instead of the rare hostage situations

Editado por banj0: 12/16/2014 11:37:36 AMGood, actually; it wasn't a mass shooting, people where only shot when trying to escape and it was a freak occurrence.

Yeah mate good one. What happens when the spiders and snakes learn how to conceal? Australia would be -blam!-ed.

1 RespuestaWhy not teach kids how to properly defend themselves as they continue their education? It's a lot better than that shitty blow off class known as P.E., and would help provide kids fitness. I mean, c'mon. We all know we don't live in a perfect society. If school is meant to prepare you for the real world, then self defense is necessary.

3 RespuestasEditado por I Joe Guitar I: 12/16/2014 10:45:09 AMAre you serious? how many school shootings has australia had? how many has the usa had? Arming the entire country is basically creating potential terrorists. The thinking behind your post is quite possibly the dumbest ive ever come across.

5 RespuestasIt's not like there would be even more events like this with a weaponised population :^)

29 RespuestasIt would have taken one citizen in the cafe with a concealed pistol to put an end to the situation. Bad people make problems, good people with guns get rid of problems.
-
Strict gun laws--- 1 recent shooting Loose gun laws--- About 5 recent shootings

Editado por Regret Reborn: 12/16/2014 8:36:32 AMHow could this have been stopped? Some guy in a cafe aint gonna magically whip out a gun faster than a guy with a gun thats already been drawn...
-
Obviously not strict enough if a nutjob got hold of a firearm.

4 RespuestasYou are a stupid, single minded sinpleton who has no idea about how these things work. Go back to ur moonshine and incest you -blam!-tard
-
Lol the lack of ANY logic in your post leads me to believe that you sir are another American mutt.
-
Even before the gun ban, the carrying of firearms was still banned unless you had a concealable weapons licence. So it really is a mute point. We weren't permitted to walk around carrying guns of any type.
-
One incidend agains howmany in the states ?
-
Because if anything would've solved that situation is a bunch of frightened and surprised people with guns. How could that have possibly gone wrong?
-
"Hey guys, violence just went up again. Let's throw more weapons at the problem."
-
No. Just no.
-
if everone would've carried a gun, they had a 100 dead people now.
