I read an article which talks about how Destiny's current pay model doesn't really allow for pretty big expansions, New plantets, Locations, etc so I was thinking of a way that may allow bungie to get those bigger expansions to us, without ruining the game for us. Something completely optional, something that you can get in the game by putting in the time.
I know many people are against the idea of Micro-transactions in a game, and to be honest so am I, or atleast I am when it makes the game pay to win rather than just an option.
Please take the time to read what I have thought of and don't put up abusive comments below, lets keep this civil and constructive. I'm just trying to think of ways to help everyone and better the game.
These packs will not make Destiny a "Pay to Win" game as there wouldn't be any armour or weapons for sale, to use these packs people would already have had to of earned their armour and weapons already. This is why I have not added strange coins or motes of light to this list as they can be used to obtain armour, Weapons, Exotic Engrams from Xur.
Ascendant Shard Pack: £1.99
Ascendant Energy Pack: £1.99
Ascendant Material Pack: £2.99 ( This will contain contents from both Ascendant Shard and Energy packs, best value )
Radiant Shard Pack: £1.99
Radiant Energy Pack: £1.99
Radiant Materials Pack: £2.99 ( This will contain contents from both Radiant Shard and Energy packs, best value )
Each of the Shard and Energy packs could maybe give 21-24 of that material, enough to upgrade one weapon or armour piece you already own.
100 spin metal: 99p
100 relic iron: 99p
100 helium filaments: 99p
100 spirit bloom: 99p
Resource pack: £2.99 ( This will contain 100 of each resource, best value )
Ammo Synthesis Pack: £1.99
20 Heavy ammo, 20 special ammo, 20 primary ammo.
These are just a few that I could think of that wouldn't impact on anything other than potentially allowing bungie to offer us a bigger, better Destiny Experience.
These packs could offer those with less time to play, the ability to upgrade the weapons and armour they have, or even those players more of the hardcore variety to get that last uprage node in on that new piece of raid gear they have earned.
So what do you all think, yay or nay to this? :)

I think the new dlc was a micro-transaction considering what we got for our 20$
-
>Not pay to win >Allows you to buy all the endgame materials with money, saving out hours of gameplay That, my friend, is pay to win. Micro transactions are (and always will be) the biggest cancer of modern gaming.

Editado por spankymebottom: 12/19/2014 10:33:05 PMmicro transactions are da debil ha! no money for content. voice actors and music budget alone must have been an insane amount

This idea solves a problem created by a soulless corporation. The simple solve to all of the issues Bungivision created is to actively and progressively create a work and reward structure that tests our wits and is an enjoyable rewarding experience. This isn't the first game ever made and hasn't reinvented the wheel. Bungie stood on the shoulder of giants and refined combat with Halo. With Destiny Bungivision stands on the shoulder of the giants of Halo, CoD, Half Life, etc and drops an epic deuce on them all.

7 RespuestasMicro transactions are the beginning of the end. First it starts with something purely optional, cosmetic like. Then it starts to slowly get more useful for in-game stuff, like being able to buy materials, telemetry, that kind of thing. Baby steps. Before you know it, you're buying the Vex Mythoclast for the low low price of $20. Virtually every single P2W game I've ever played has followed this progression, with the Devs assuring us that it would just be optional and cosmetic until it isn't. I'm fine with buying a game. DLC pushes my limits. Micro transactions break them. I don't care what it's for, I can never support Micro transactions.

$29.99 full lvl 32 set. $14.99 Vex Mythoclast $9.99 Ice Breaker

1 RespuestaHow can you become a legend if you buy your way there :)

Mm... Nah.

Editado por Wolfe: 12/19/2014 9:25:00 PM$20 for an exotic of your choice 1) $10 for ex engram of your choice ( helm, chest, primary ect) So not everyone will have them

Editado por Musashi Orboro3: 12/19/2014 10:22:52 PMWhat exactly would be the point of adding these micro-transactions to the game? Help Bungie with a new source of revenue, so that they can invest in more content? Last I heard, they made back their initial $500,000,000 investment and more in the first week after Destiny's release.

Editado por SunlightHeart: 12/19/2014 9:06:08 PMWhile there is nothing wrong with micro transactions, saying that Destiny can't afford big expansions is not quite accurate. But I couldnt really care less about shaders and mats being sold for real money. Destiny likely wont change 2 much.
-
What kind of ass promotes micro-transactions?? obviously nay... geeez, whats wrong with you??
-
Lol destiny 2 is your 'expansion'
-
Editado por Kage Goomba: 12/19/2014 8:43:55 PMsir....for you to promote micro-transactions in any form shape or matter means your one of two things. 1: rich snob 2:ignorant In any case.... I'm going to assume your ignorant. You have no idea what pandora's box your threatening to open. Micro-transactions are the death knell of any good game... EVE Online went through this phase and it nearly cost them....all because they mis-communicated what kind of transactions they where going for. It's one thing to grind for shards. Sure as hell not going to pay for them in real cash.
-
Micro transactions are the end of video games. Also Bungie has plenty of money. The expansion pack has been a complete rip off. I've purchased $5 games with more content than all of Destiny.
-
-
Any game that ends up with microtransactions is fundamentally broken in design to begin with.
-
No. No pay to win. No pay to play. They have a huge budget already - if they can't make a halfway decent game with the money they have to spend they should look into a different line of work.
-
Editado por Omni__Tron: 12/19/2014 4:54:28 PMPerhaps Bungie could make acquiring these materials less of a grind and make the game less boring, there's that option.

I'd be okay with microtransactions for ships, sparrows, shaders, emblems, and class items. Items purely cosmetic in use. Hell, I'd even be okay with microtransactions for vault space. Things that DO NOT have an effect on the outcome of a raid/strike/crucible match, or gearing to those points. Before you claim you're against "pay to win" you should check what it entitles.

1 RespuestaAre you seriously encouraging micro transactions?? No, just no, just play the game the way it's supposed to be played!!
-
While the intention behind the idea is good... Generating some extra revenue to put towards development of more impressive content is always welcome. I'm afraid that this would cause players to play less if they don't have to work for the materials they need. And Bungivision would likely prefer to see more unhappy players, than fewer satisfied players. It looks better on paper.

I would enjoy micro transactions of they were shaders or emblems but thus can't end well
